Η Σέλμπι Γκριρ τρομοκρατήθηκε όταν έμαθε πως κάποιος απειλούσε να της κάνει κακό για να εκδικηθεί τον πατέρα της. Η μόνη λύση ήταν να προσλάβει έναν σωματοφύλακα για να την προστατεύσει.
Ο φύλακας-άγγελός της ήταν πολύ αρρενωπός και σέξι. Σε άλλη περίπτωση, η Σέλμπι δε θα είχε αντίρρηση να τον έχει δίπλα της μέρα και νύχτα. Όμως ο Γκρέι Κόμπτον ήταν ο άντρας που είχε απορρίψει με το χειρότερο τρόπο το νεανικό της έρωτα!
Ωστόσο, σύντομα ο Γκρέι διαπίστωσε ότι ένιωθε κι εκείνος μια έντονη έλξη για τη Σέλμπι. Τα πράγματα δεν πήγαιναν καθόλου καλά! Από τη μια η πληγωμένη περηφάνια της Σέλμπι κι από την άλλη η προσπάθεια του Γκρέι να διατηρήσει τη σχέση τους σε αυστηρά επαγγελματικό επίπεδο, εγγυώνταν ότι η αναγκαστική συγκατοίκησή τους θα ήταν… τουλάχιστον εκρηκτική!

When threats are made against Shelby Greer her father hires a bodyguard, Gray Compton. Gray and Shelby have known each other since they were young and Shelby has been in love with Gray for years. Shelby disagrees at first and doesn't think she needs a bodyguard, but she eventually learns someone is really after her and she changes her mind.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really liked Gray... he was charming, handsome, sexy, and romantic. Shelby was a feisty heroine, headstrong and independent. (I liked how Gray was as crazy about Shelby for years as she was about him, but she had no idea.) I thought Shelby and Gray had good chemistry and I really enjoyed their banter. It took awhile for them to finally make love so there was a lot of sexual tension.
Wonderful story with a great main couple, secret longings, sizzling attraction, and a little bit of suspense.

I loved our H and h in this book. The H was broody, had his flaws but lovable and principled. The h had made a play for him and been rejected so got on with her life because yes she was in love with him but he'd said no so she dated. i'm glad we have a modern h that didn't save herself because otherwise it might never have happened so I for one applaud her for getting out there - it makes a change to all the potential spinsters we so frequently get. She was feisty and gave as good as she got while admitting she still found him attractive. he was flirty and fun and his code was kind of cool. but waiting 10 years to act on it daym nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Enjoyable read!

El padre de Shelby a recibido una amenaza que la involucra a ella por lo que la obliga a convivir con Gray, guardaespalda muy rudo, quien ha trabajado anteriormente, por lo que entiendo en los mismos menesteres, con su padre del que ha quedado muuuuy amigo.
Shelby hace años que ama a Gray pero aunque un par de veces hubo un intento de confesión ahora está muy enojada con él y no quiere saber nada con que sea su guardaspalda.
Obligadísima termina conviviendo, "día y noche" con él por su bien (aunque no creo que hiciera muy bien su trabajo).
Tiene todos los condimentos que me gustan de una novela... amor de largos años de no ser expresado, celos por un "amo a alguien hace años", un deseo que no puede ocultarse más y un super macho re-lindo que no es el hombre más rico del mundo para variar.
¿Qué no me gustó de esta corta novela?
Con todos los condimentos para una hermosa novela se vuelve muy desquiciante soportar la negativa de esta chica a convivir con el chico y están todo el día peleando! Recuerden que viven juntos... Es día y noche!
Si por lo menos tuviéramos unos días para el relax y masoquismo auto destructivo, todo bien pero... cansa... todo el tiempo meta pelea...
Por otro lado no entiendo muy bien porqué no se confiesan amores (nada lo impide) y si es por la peleíta por un mal entendido creo que ya tuvieron varios años para aclarar el tema...
Masoquismo sin sentido... no!
Igual creo que le voy a dar otra oportunidad a esta autora... insisto... tiene todos los condimentos en la olla...

Shelby y Gray juntos son dinamita. Desde el principio te quedas seguro de que fueron hechos uno para el otro... hay más que química entre ellos. Eso ya sería lo bastante para conducirte por la historia, todavía hay más: los diálogos entre ellos son perfectos... para el bien y para el mal. No se lleva un 5 porque no la narrativa no logra mantener el mismo ritmo hasta el final.
