Heroes Ever After #2

TRITON: A Bad-Boy SEAL Romance

Rate this book
Aria--I teach mermaid fitness at a ritzy hotel next to the Naval Amphibious Base. I know better than to let one of those famous frogmen chase my tail. But in a moment of weakness, I submit to Erik, a tattooed badass Navy SEAL. After one night of incredible passion, I can't stop thinking about his cocky ways and his dirty mouth.

Then I get the opportunity to train to be the first female Navy SEAL.

When I show up on the first day of training, I'm horrified to realize that Erik is my BUD/S instructor. He's the only person who stands in the way of me achieving my dream.

I'm no quitter. He can taunt me, tease me, and run me ragged, but I'll never ring that bell.

Erik--Aria is the most incredible woman I've ever met. She won the gold medal for synchronized swimming and she looks like a little mermaid the way she moves underwater. Once I find out that the sexy redhead is teaching aquatic classes next to my base, I vow to do anything to make her mine.

After our mind-blowing night together, she vanishes. I ask around and learn she went away to train. I assume it's for another synchro competition.

I'm dead wrong.

She shows up in BUD/S as part of the first class to let in women. And I'm her instructor.

There's no way in hell I will lower the standards of my Team to please the brass and make a political statement.

It doesn't matter how much I want her because she's forbidden to me now. She will obey my every command.

She can try to pass hell week but she will fail.

I'm a Navy SEAL, a Triton, a god of the sea.

And she will never be part of my world.

Huh, another book I listened to out of order... oh well.

Triton was an okay book. In it, you will meet the alpha type douche navy seal guy named Erik. First off, you can already tell he's a douche because his name ends in a K. Besides getting tattoos, he likes to tear down girls hopes and dreams of ever joining the navy. He secretly loves it but karma is about to bite him in the ass.

Enter Aria, who teaches mermaid fitness - is that what the elderly people do in the pool or is this something else? - at some Naval base. She just happens to run into Erik and there's some instant attraction going on. Once she hears his point of view on women in the navy, well she just shuts her trap and goes along with it. Mostly because she has the dream to join them.

Of course, like all alpha douches, he gets butt hurt when she is in his class. He's all like meow meow 'HOW DARE YOU LIE TO ME AND USE ME" meow meow meow. Whatever, he's still a douche and is acting crazy. Good thing for Aria is that she is no quitter - no matter how many times he has made it his life goal for her to do so.

Luckily, towards the end he decides to take the stick out of his ass and become a decent human being. Magically everything is better for these two and he can now see the light. Love is in the air folks - all is right in the world!

have to confess that these books were in a genre that I had never read. In many ways, these stories are mostly erotica with a little story to puff it up.

The plots were very predictable and grossly anti-women. This was not romance but bullying via sex.

I do not recommend these books. There are so many good romance stories out there that don’t have the woman on her knees begging for sex.

I was given this book for free in order to give an honest review.

Received an ARC for my voluntary review for Hidden Gems. I enjoyed book. I almost wanted to knock both of them out at one point, her for not telling him that she planned to join the Seal's but she did know that he was so dead set against it, and she did prove him wrong, so I was proud of her, however I wished she would have stuck up for herself more when he was being mean to her, I know she was in love with him, and that she felt that she did him wrong, but that did not give him the right to treat her that way, yes he was her instructor and could not give her a break, but he was just being an ass. Now I wanted to knock him out, when he was being an ass to her, and when he held that grudge for so long, but I am glad that he finally admitted to himself and her that she was right all along. I do hope that we get to find out what happens next with them.

Triton by Alana Albertson is a very good read! It is focused on characters that are in the military which is something I love and something with military in it is an auto read for me. In this case, the characters are fresh, the plot fast paced and happening and the locations real . In this book we get a peek at BUD/S (SEAL school for those who is not familiar with Naval SEALS training) and OCS (Officer Candidate School) which is the way to become an officer if you do not want to go to Annapolis.
The story is about a woman named Aria who is an Olympic gold medalist and she decides she wants to go for the top goal in her life and that is join the Navy Seals as the first woman. Thing is, she never expected to fall in love with one.
Erik the SEAL is one bada$$. He is currently stateside waiting for his next deployment assignment. Erik meets Aria when she is hired on as the current celebrity fitness instructor at the hotel located next door to the base. Erik doesn’t believe women should be in the SEALS, much less in military. He doesn’t know what her plans are when they first meet, except he loves how she looks and he wants to go out with her. The intense chemistry between them is palpable yet both sense the other is hiding something. Each want something from one another yet they are afraid of letting the other know for the fears they hold. What happen when the other find out the true situations the other are in/ going in? Will there be a HEA ? Or will they be ships passing in the night?
I loved Aria and her beliefs and her stance on what she wanted. She was a sassy and independent woman. I liked Erik except some times he came off as a jerk, as anti woman but I think this story ends very well.

I really really really wanted to love this book as Alana Albertson blew me away with her previous books BEAST and her Se7en Deadly Sins series but unfortunately TRITON fell very short for me. I liked the premise of the Little Mermaid, just like her amazing book BEAST which was based on Beauty and the Beast, but that's where the similarities end. I felt like I was reading a book by a totally different author. The narrative was choppy, cheesy and at times eye roll worthy!

I wasn't convinced of the instalove between Erik and Aria so early in the story. It felt so forced and rushed that I didn't feel the connection at all between them. And then the second half of the book during Aria's time in boot camp also felt very rushed and underdeveloped. One moment Erik was hating Aria and in a blink of the eye, they had resolved their issues and were declaring their love. And the epilogue was as if it had been thrown in at the last moment. Despite all my issues with this book, I would read Ms. Albertson again. This one just didn't work for me.

This is the story of Aria (olympic gold medalist) and Erik (Navy SEAL). Aria mets Erik while teaching a mermaid exercise class and he's instantly interested. Her pursues her, wants to take her out and she turns him down. Not to be deterred, he continues to pursue her and she does say yes to a date. She's in town only for a month but their relationship advances pretty quickly. She has some secrets and is driven but isn't willing to share her darkest secret with Erik. Their relationship ends badly, though neither forgets each other and she leaves town. Many months later, Aria returns and Erik learns her reason for leaving in the first place is because she wants to become the first female Navy SEAL. Erik is very upset about this as he feels woman have no place in the SEALs. There are ups and downs and they fight their continued attraction to each other and the change in their relationship as well as being on opposite "sides" of wanting her success. It's an interesting dynamic between these two characters and how they finally find a way to compromise where they are both happy.

This was a good read and as a woman who loves a female lead that kicks ass and holds her own against the male lead in a story, this was a wonderful surprise. The chemistry between Erik, a Navy SEAL and Aria, a Gold Medal Olympian is off the charts but so is their difference of opinion towards women as active participants in the military, especially in the role as a Navy SEAL. Once Erik makes his position know, Aria decides that she needs to keep her secret from him, even when she realizes how much she loves him. As I read it was never clear whether these two would find their HEA and I won't spoil the details but I will just state that this is a nail bitter until the last word of the book. Do yourself a favor and read this good book.

This is a brand new author for me and I must say that I loved the story and enjoyed reading it.

I loved the characters, the feelings that were put in to writing the story and the plot. Erik and Aria met when she became the guest instructor at the Del. He's a bad ass SEAL and thinks that no woman should be allowed to join the teams. She is an Olympic synchronized swimmer who will prove him wrong, she's determined to graduate from BUD/s?

Between the trust issues that they have from each other, they overcame any problems that they had from the beginning of their relationship. Trust and love will win in everything that you do, you just have to believe in it.

I enjoyed this book and read it quite quickly in one sitting.

The male lead is very much an alpha type, understandable.

The female lead seems quite strong but has moments where she is a dependent type personality?
She is an Olympian swimmer but has been beaten down mentally by her mother.
This results in her sometimes wishy-washy attitude, that might just be my read on it.

I did enjoy the male lead becoming a merman! I am still processing this book in my head as I just finished it. I do not believe I have read this author before but I will be on the look out for more books to read in the future!

Another great story by Alana Albertson. I had previously read her Deadly Seals books, and just like those Triton does not disappoint. This book has great characters with plenty of chemistry and you won't want to put it down, you will however be left wanting more - but luckily there are other books which give you more of these wonderful and gritty seals! Hopefully we will continue to get updates on Eric and Aria as I really do want to know what happens next...

I was intrigued by the blurb and was looking forward to reading about a feisty, strong, independent woman and the always hot, sexy, alpha SEAL. It started out strong but seemed to taper off a bit for me. To me, there was a lot of time spent on their budding romance and right when it reached the peak of Erik finding out she was one of his recruits in BUDS/s everything seemed to move at lightning pace and then - BAM! - it’s over. Where was the attention and detail we received during the beginning of their relationship? There was so much potential, so much I was hoping for, but instead was left shaking my head and feeling a little shorted.

Another spoiler/take me out of the story concerns were some issues with the continuity/timeline issues. In one paragraph, the timeframe for Aria to leave for training was mentioned as three different amounts – one month, two weeks, and three weeks – one paragraph! In another, she is described as wearing a tank and shorts and a few sentences later…she brushes the sand of her dress…there were a few more but those two drove me nuts. Since I was reviewing an advanced copy of the book, I hope they were found and addressed prior to publishing.

In short…

Was it a favorite of mine that I will read again…No.

Am I glad I read it or do I feel like I wasted my time…No, I did not waste my time and I did enjoy
reading it, I just wanted more.

Would I read this author again…Absolutely.

Honestly this is a solid 2.5 star review for me. Erik was more than arrogant, he was dismissive and rude. Aria was determined and extremely vulnerable. Together they were passionate in the bedroom, against the wall, in the ocean...you get the idea...but aside from being driven and excited about the accomplishments they don't seem like more than a passionate relationship that might fizzle in the future. I don't see a lot of bonding or discussion or even healing, especially for Aria. There's quite a few things that are left unresolved and most of the story is a flashback to the start of their relationship. Erik is incredibly harsh and not as willing to see things from Aria's perspective, Aria is more secretive than she needs to be, and both of them allow miscommunication and secrecy lead their relationship. It wasn't a bad story and there were some sweet confessions and triumphant victories of mental blocks, but that didn't really make it a great story.

Read and willingly reviewed this ARC from Hidden Gems.

I really, really enjoyed the story and didn't want to put the book down until I had completed it. The book starts with Aria's first day at BUD/S training and then goes back seven months to when Aria and Erik first meet.

I liked both Aria and Erik, they were well written and complex characters. Aria had a lot of issues with trusting people and with being loved, a huge part of which is due to her dysfunctional relationship with her mother. This was touched on in the book but I felt the author missed an opportunity of allowing us to see Erik help Aria deal with this and therefore add to the strength of their relationship.

Even though there was a lack of communication, secret keeping and heads being stuck in the sand, the author still managed to convince me of the chemistry between Aria and Erik and the depth of their connection. This is a testament to the quality of writing and the well thought through plot.

One thing that did spoil the book (and I read an arc so this might have been corrected) were some serious timeline errors. Each one was fairly minor but combined together did pull me out the story at one point. On their first and second dates Aria was wearing shorts which morphed into a dress both times, and there were a few occasions when her time left in Coronado was stated as two weeks and then a few sentences later as three weeks (it was three weeks working on the fact that from meeting Erik to their second date was only three days). Their second date was described by Aria as a disastrous first date and, finally, one of the later chapters had a subheading of 6 months later and the second sentence BELOW this described it as being 5 months later.

Aside from those errors, which sound a lot but actually were very minor, the book is well written, the prose has an easy to read and flowing style and the pace held my attention. This was a fun, enjoyable read and a nice way to spend a few of hours.

So it's not that this book is not a good book. I just didn't want to read about Navy Seals. I guess I should have figured that out when I read the preview but I thought it might still be interesting. the whole thing with the girl being all about her career and hard-headed and not even willing to live her life just a little was kind of annoying. plus the author made it a point to make sure that her body physically wasn't all that appealing another words the character was insecure. Erik was too sure of himself and had a cocky egotistical attitude about him that was kind of off-putting cuz he wouldn't take no for an answer or even accept the idea, also considering that he was stereotypical against women.

TRITON is a modern day fairytale romance with a spin into the world of the Navy SEALs. A great and unusual mix which makes for a very intriguing story.

The story gives a sneak peek into BUD/s – the school where Navy SEALs are trained – and is about Aria, an Olympic gold medalist, who sets herself a new quite daunting challenge: to become the first woman to join the teams. Then there is Erik (love how both names remind me of The Little Mermaid!), himself a bad axx SEAL who thinks women have no business in joining the military, much less the SEAL teams. A woman in the teams is a disaster waiting to happen, and he takes no prisoners in making his opinion known.

Two people with utterly different beliefs who meet under completely different circumstances. They hit it off right away, the chemistry palpable, and Erik wants her to become his, with no idea what secret plans she harbors, and her with no true idea of what his prospective job at the Bud/s entails…

There are some trust issues right from the start and it will be tested even more once all cards are on the table. Aria wants to prove to the world, and one especially pigheaded man in particular, that women can very well complete the same brutal training men do – while said man wants nothing more than for her to ring that bell…

Both heroine and hero are incredibly driven and strong-willed. Aria never wavers in her beliefs and her stance which I found admirable. Erik … well, he has his moments, but sometimes all I could think was ‘jerk’, whereas Aria is feminist through and through, he is the polar opposite.

I’d have really wished to see more of the present, meaning Aria’s actual training and the time after all secrets were revealed. The main part of the story focuses instead of them getting to know each other beforehand.

All in all, the story has enough drama, emotion and passion to keep me flying through the pages. I recommend!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is my first time reading this author's work, but it will definitely not be my last. Triton is like a Navy Seal re-imagined "The Little Mermaid." The H of the story, Erik, is a badass Navy Seal who is currently stationed stateside waiting for his next deployment. The h, Aria, just got hired as the current celebrity mermaid fitness instructor at the hotel located next to the Naval base. Aria is also an Olympic gold medalist synchronized swimmer. Once they see each other they are instantly attracted, but Aria is unsure and does not want to pursue a relationship b/c she is only there for a month before she leaves to pursue her dream of becoming the first female Navy Seal. Erik will not be deterred, however, and pursues her and wears her down just like his Seal training has taught. When he finally wears her down the chemistry between them is HOT! But they are both hiding something from each other. Erik wants to involve Aria in a side business he is developing that he thinks she would be perfect for, but what if she just thinks he is using her celebrity status? Aria is afraid to tell Erik about attempting to become the first female Navy Seal b/c of his opinion on women serving on the Seal Teams. What will happen when he finds out? This does end with a HEA (after all it is based on The Little Mermaid), but they both have to do a little soul searching and start to trust in each other before that can happen. I definitely recommend you give this book a try and doubt you will be disappointed with this Hot Navy Seal giving his mermaid a chance to be part of his world.

Aria is famous in that she is a Gold Olympian and she has always pushed herself to over come and achieve everything she has ever tried in her life. But one thing she has never had was a boyfriend yes she has been sexually active but not a boyfriend or a lover. Erik a Navy SEAL who meets a woman that is the strongest he has ever known but she is hiding something from him and he cant figure it out, but when he sees her at BUD/S training he knows he should have figured it out sooner but she never told him and he knows it because he would have left her as in his thoughts women didnt belong in that world.

What I enjoyed most about Triton was watching Aria work so hard at everything she did and after having the childhood she had she was going to finally follow her own dreams and that biggest dream is to become a NAVY SEAL and the first Woman SEAL. Erik knows nothing can last with Aria as she is just there for the month but it doesnt stop him from falling for her and vise versa but once he knows of her dreams it would ruin everything, and when he is her trainer he knows he will do everything he can to fail her, but Aria will not give up.

This book was so good, I really enjoyed Erik and Aria's love story and the not so much fun parts where it comes to Eriks thoughts on women as SEAL's. This book has Aria a woman who is doing a month long mermaid swim class and meets this handsome SEAL that asks her out, Erik a man who asks this beautiful woman out and is told no but being a SEAL he doesnt give up he will get her to go out with him and then he will fall, a love story. If you like stories like this, then Triton is a must!

Aria--I am an Olympian a winner of a Gold medal, I have drive, determination and strength, I am also determined to become the 1st female to graduate as a Navy Seal. For the next month I am in San Diego teaching mermaid fitness at a ritzy hotel next to the Naval Amphibious Base. I also know that I can't let any of the Navy Seals chase me and distract me from my goal.
Erik and Navy Seal proud to the last drop, I have one more deployment and then will become a Instructor training the new Seals.
Aria does give in to Erik's charm but now 6 months after I broke of with him I come face to face with the reality that he is my Instructor. And he is the only person that stands in the way of me achieving my dream. I'm no quitter. He can taunt me, tease me, and run me ragged, but I'll never ring that bell.
Aria is the most incredible woman I've ever met. She won the gold medal for synchronized swimming and she looks like a little mermaid the way she moves underwater. Once I find out that the sexy redhead is teaching aquatic classes next to my base, I vow to do anything to make her mine. Well after she brakes up with me and vanishes, leaving me pondering on may things. And now she is now in BUD/S as part of the first class to let in women. And I'm her instructor.
Will Aria and Erik overcome their hurts and find a life together, will she make it as Seal as she always dreamed of or will Erik quash her dreams, read the book to find out, its a great story .

Well, if us normal people who know nothing about our military, it would be nice if the author would explain what BUD/S means in the book. A link or something would be nice but no. So, by chapter 4, I am a little more upset with the too much Alpha males in the book. I get it and understand it but slamming women a bit too much. Of course, I know the store will change but this is a bit too much. I know guys will be guys and that’s way they all want a “man cave” so they can talk about all kinds of things that they don’t around women. Again, growing up with only brothers and hanging out with only guys, I get it. But this…a bit too much. Now we are where they meet, date, lie and fall in love. Nothing too big or too detailed in the sex. Now at chapter 28 we begin the SEAL training. OMG! By the end of chapter 30, I want to slap BOTH main characters. Yes, they used each other but my goodness, they need to get over themselves. Plus, she wasn’t going to until he did. Childish? Yes it is. Didn’t like the last chapter. It felt too rushed. Thank goodness for the epilogue.

Meaning of what BUD/S found on google
BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) Training. BUD/S is a 6-month SEAL training course held at the Naval Special Warfare Training Center in Coronado, CA. You'll start with five weeks Indoctrination and Pre-Training as part of a Navy SEAL Class, then go through the Three Phases of BUD/S.

Erik Anderson is a Navy SEAL and soon to be BUD/S instructor. He's happy and settled all except for finding a woman to love. When he meets Aria he's determined to have her in his life.

Aria Clements is a synchronized swimming Olympian. She comes to California to be train to become the first woman SEAL. Driven to succeed, used and abused by her mother as well as others.

In this second book of 'Heroes Ever After' it isn't the SEAL who is struggling but Aria. She's driven and focused and doesn't want the distraction of a man. Nor does she believe he wants her for herself. It's hard to accept love if you don't love yourself.

Erik doesn't believe women should be allowed into the Navy SEALs. His belief has Aria keeping her plans a secret even if he's supportive of her drive to train and live life.

Aira's Inner dialogue and her past might ruin her chances with the best man she's ever met. Will her drive to become the first woman SEAL kill any chance for a happily ever after?

I happily cheered Erik on as he helped Aria live life while trying to conquer it. Things changed after he realized she was training to become a SEAL and felt she used him to gain an advantage in her training.

I really felt the struggle between these two and was glad when they managed to get their happily ever after.

Another really good read by Alana, I am loving her SEAL stories lately. They are well written and includes a little of everything - emotions, romance, a little humour and hot and steamy moments, Erik and Aria had a few of those sexy times between them.
I loved the first chapter from Erik’s POV, it definitely had me intrigued and wanting to know how all that came to be in that moment and I couldn’t wait to find out the rest of the story. I loved how it went back in time to the first moment Erik and Aria met, instead of the story jumping back and forth and retelling it in present time. I loved how Aria knew what she wanted and didn’t stop at anything to get there, loved how determined she was. Erik was also a great character and I loved how, by the end of the story, he finally realised how great of a SEAL Aria would be. I loved their interactions, I thought they were great together with some very hot scenes between those two and such a cute ending! But I felt the end finished a little too quickly and abruptly although they do get their happily ever after.
I Ioved seeing a few of the other characters from previous books in this one especially Grady and Isa (I loved their story), it was great to read about what had happened to them after their ending and how they connected together

A great read about a woman, Aria, who wants to be the first woman to pass BUD's and become a SEAL. Before she goes into training she meets a hot SEAL man, Erik. At first she denies him a date but he doesn't give up and soon they are spending more time together and instead of the month long fling they wanted, feelings come into play. But she doesn't tell him what she wants to be because of his views of women to be SEAL's and she feels that he is using her because of her Olympian status and fame. She breaks up with him before she leaves and tries to forget him. The first day of BUD's she finds out he is her instructor and he realizes why she was so secretive. Will they make it?
A great read that tells the story of their affair while together for the month and his views and feelings along with hers. I enjoyed both, Erik for being supportive of her (until he finds out her motives) and the way he views relationships now, wanting something more than a one night stand. Aria is a strong, determined woman but with many insecurities that she doesn't let that show until she meets Erik, who she opens up to (but not about her one goal). Along with the steamy scenes I couldn't put it down till I was done. I only wished there was an epilogue further into the future after BUD's to see what happens between them.

rvcd an arc for giving my two cents. i really enjoyed this book. i could barely put it down. it had secrets, sex, determination and arrogance. we meet aria, an Olympian gold medal synchronized swimmer out in coronada to teach mermaid swim class on her month before training to be the 1st female SEAL. we then meet sex SEAL Erik, who happens to know who she is and is attracted to her at first sight. he asks her out and she turns him down. one thing aria doesnt know is that erik doesnt give up. the next day, erik takes his sister, also a synchro swimmer and he mom to her class where aria reluctantly accepts his dinner request. both hit it off, but both have doubts. is erik using aria for her fame? is aria using his for military intel? both are closed off, stubborn and determined. its a deal breaker for aria when erik says in conversation that women cant be SEALS. Erik knows aria is hiding smtg but cant pinpoint it. while at a training obstacle they use for SEAL training, it was the last straw...aria walks away. fast forward 6 months, aria is nervous as hell and still loves Erik and Erik happens to be the new instructor. colour him surprised when he shows up to his class with the 1st female ever and it happens to be Aria. what will happen when he finds out that she kept this from him? will he forgive her? will aria make it past the obstacle and fail?

Lousy romance

The story is dictated to the reader. The characters are flat. Secondary characters are introduced, and forgotten. The romance is nearly non-existent. The sex scenes are clunky and not loving. The resolution at the end seems engineered by a fairy godmother because it's completely at odds with the characters as described throughout the entire book.

Do I need to read books before this one: no
Would I read more of the series: no
Cliffhanger: no

My mom used to tell me the most important decision I would ever make in my life wasn’t what job I would take, but who I would marry. I took her advice to heart.

CRITIQUE (spoilers)
What happened to Flounder? He's sent to Isa and Grady, and that's the last we heard of him. Did Aria rent a home so she and Flounder could live together again?

What happens with Erik's business? With the bicycle?

Why was her mom at her graduation? How would she have known when it was?

At the anniversary party, Grady seems tempted to write his memoir because they need money. Never talk to him again.

If anonymity is crucial to her being a successful SEAL, what career does she have?

Aria and Erik are breaking down the walls in this military romance. Aria is Olympic medalist with her sights set on a new challenge that will prove to be even more daunting... she wants to be the first ever femal Navy SEAL! The SEALs have been a boys club for far to long and Aria is determined to take her drive and skills and become a bonififed operator. Now she just has to make it through BUD/S and convince some pigheaded men to stay out of her way. When Erik sees Aria for the first time he is instantly drawn to the champion beauty, and knowing she has the same drive and mettle he does he knows that they would make a good match. It's not often someone can keep up with a SEAL when it comes to dedication so he is a little more than impressed. But he knows she is hiding something and can't figure out what... until she shows up in his BUD/S class reporting for duty. Now the SEAL is forced to put his personal feelings aside as he needs to think about what's best for the teams. A woman in the SEALs would be a terrible and he makes no bones about letting it be known. Now it's a battle of wills... he wants her to ring the bell and she won't. Erik wants her to be part of his world but which world will it be?

PRINCE TRITON👑 AND THE MERMAID🐳💋

ARC received for an honest review.

Navy SEAL⚓ romances aren't my favorite, but this book is well written, with a good story, and is interesting. It's a bit cheesy in that the woman in the story is Aria, and she was an Olympic Gold Medalist in synchronized 🏊swimming. A la The Little Mermaid.

What's more, her tall, hard, alpha🐺🍌🌋🔥 Navy SEAL⚓ love interest is named Erik! But their movie names have nothing to do with the story. The water and swimming🏊 puns come fast and often in this mostly lighthearted romance. The story is told from both points of view. There are a few misspellings and wrong tenses used throughout the book, but it isn't distracting.

Aria💋🏊 wants to become the first woman Navy⚓ SEAL. This book also is a second chance💔 romance💓, the two characters have a hot and heavy fling before she leaves and tries out for the SEALs and it doesn't end well for their love the first time...
Erik🐺🍌🌋🔥 is a true Alpha male. He is very possessive of Aria💋🏊 and he sexually dominates her totally.
YEHAW! Ride Em Bareback, Cowgirl!

I enjoyed the book quite a bit and am very happy I received the ARC.

Triton was a good book, this is the first book I have read by Alana Albertson. I found Aria’s character to be likable but I would have liked her to be more into Erik. He accuses Aria of using him to learn about SEAL training when he pursued her in the beginning with the intention of using her to further his business goals. He voices some very misogynistic views about women in armed forces combat roles throughout most of the book. He expresses some heartwarming thoughts such as yearning to find true love. He started to see a future with Aria. But with Aria keeping a secret from Erik and her knowing his views of woman joining the seal. She didn't see any way around it. She wanted to have a future with Erik to. This story just need some honesty and trust and truth between them, good old conversion. I felt Aria definitely did Erik wrong at the end. We got to see how Aria really felt about Erik at the end when she return to do her training and Erik being her trainer. Erik ending up saying some awful things to her. But in the end he step up and was a real man and helped her get through it all. The ending was so sweet. Hooray for both of them. Received an ARC for an honest review.

Aria and Erik, yep, they named the leads that. I thought, oh no, I don't want to read cheesy. Thankfully, that was the cheesiest part. This was an awesome book! I love SEALs and really love romance, so this was a super combo of both. Aria is not just the girl next door. She's an Olympic gold medalist. Although, she literally is, when she meets Erik. She is the mermaid fitness instructor at the Del and he is stationed at the Naval base beside it. Yep, he's a SEAL. A real Triton of the Sea. They have a fabulous relationship started, but there are a few bumps along the way. Mainly, his stand on female SEALs. She's just signed on with the Navy and plans on being their first female to complete BUD/S training. But, he doesn't know that...yet. When she returns to Coronado after completing officer training, she knows she will see Erik again. She does. And, whoa boy, guess who one of her instructors is? He is determined to make her ring that bell. The admiral may want her to succeed, but not him. Will lightning strike this couple twice?

Aria was called America's Little Mermaid when she went to the Olympics to win a gold medal. Now she has fulfilled he mother's dreams, she is following her own dream. She wants to become a Navy SEAL, the first female SEAL ever. The month before she joined the Navy, she was working as a mermaid near the SEAL training school. There she met Erik a tough Navy SEAL. Their chemistry was explosive but Aria was keeping her dream secret. Erik believed that women had no business being SEALs. Aria broke up their relationship when it was time to start training.
It is now months later and Erik has the new assignment of training and or breaking the newest SEAL wannabes. He is angry that there is a female trying to become a SEAL and gets even angrier when he realizes it is Aria. He feels that she was just using him to get information to pass SEAL training. He is determined to make Aria quit even though his CO wants her to pass.
This is a good book but it has a lot of jumping around in time with flashbacks. I found it hard to keep track of what was going on. I did like the Little Mermaid twist going on. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
