Talk about a stellar ending, simply breathtaking and magical. Forget Team Jonah or Team Gabrielle, both are more than simple men, more than over the top heroes, more than love interests competing for a lifetime with Lailah. This is it, the end of a series that will continue to find new readers and to imprint on their hearts and souls for decades to come!

Nikki Kelly calls it a wrap with her best writing ever! JONAH is the vampire who saved Lailah from the vampire Purebloods. In the process, he lost his heart to this fiery young woman who carries the weight of eternity on her shoulders. He is willing to give up everything for Lailah, including his life, but when Lailah faces the showdown for eternity’s souls and the last chance to close the portals between dimensions, the changes he has undergone can be more of a hindrance than help.

Lailah is struggling with the pain she has caused others, so much sorrow, so much loss, how can she fail everyone now? Visited by a quirky man who holds the key to the answers she seeks, she begins to understand the concept of those with powers beyond belief, with the concept of free will and the consequences of using that will that may not be avoided.

I admit it, I read this twice, just to prolong having to leave these wonderful characters behind. Once again, deceit, treachery and the vile machinations of dark villains will attempt to thwart Lailah at every heart-wrenching turn. If you haven’t tried anything by Nikki Kelly, you are missing out on a world of brilliant characters, supreme plots, continuous action and high tension and never-ending twists.

And about that ending? It wasn’t the first time I teared up during this read. IT.WAS.PERFECT.

I received an ARC edition from Feiwel & Friends in exchange for my honest review.

This review and many more can be found on my blog: Feed Your Fiction Addiction

It’s been a long wait for the final installment in the Styclar Saga, so Kelly made sure that we had an epic ending to the series. We got answers to all of the questions that remained about the three dimensions and then some.

What Fed My Addiction:

Boy troubles resolved.
In this book, Lailah didn’t do any waffling between Jonah and Gabriel. She knew exactly who she wanted and why. That didn’t mean that the road to romance between her and Jonah was smooth, though—Lailah had determined that she wasn’t going to survive the fight with the Purebloods, so she didn’t feel that she could give herself to Jonah completely. And then there was the fact that Gabriel didn’t remember that Lailah had already let him down gently (since she had turned back time in the last book). The romance between Jonah and Lailah was probably my favorite part of this final book.

The worldbuilding.
This series has such elaborate worldbuilding. Lailah visits both the first and third dimensions in this book, so we get amazing descriptions of both of them. I loved all the parallels between the dimensions and religion—Is there a God? (We get the answer.) Are the Angels and the Purebloods who the humans think they are? Are they all wrong, or are there elements of what they believe that makes sense? Is Lailah a Savior? The world that Kelly created is complex, and I could spend days just analyzing it.

Epic battles.
Of course, the showdowns between Laila and the Purebloods in the end was intense, but there were also other conflicts leading up to that one that made my heart race. When Lailah returns to the second dimension (the “regular” one), she discovers that much has changed. It’s a much more dangerous place and the stakes have risen ever higher!

What Left Me Hungry for More:

Took me time to connect.
Unfortunately, since it’s been so long since the first two books, it took me a little time to remember what was happening and to connect to these characters again. I kind of wish I’d had time to do a reread of the first two books before I’d read this one.

The scientific details went over my head.
Though I loved the worldbuilding, the sheer amount of it in this book added to issue #1. I found myself puzzling over some of the scientific details we learn about the three dimensions and how they work. Sometimes I found myself tuning out a bit during these sections of the book (especially in the middle).

I didn’t put the ending into the Love It or Hate It categories because I kind of felt both. My gut reaction was something along the lines of, “What?!” I sort of hated it. But, then again, I sort of loved it too—and, more importantly, I think it was fitting for the story. Maybe. Probably. (As you can see, I’m still a bit conflicted.)

In the end, I felt that this was a strong conclusion to the series, but I didn’t connect quite as well as I wanted to, so I ended up giving it 3.5/5 stars.

I mean.... really? I feel like I have been waiting for this book forever and I am so disappointed by it. OK I'm disappointed by the ending. I had to read the last 2 pages 5 times.. I couldn't get over the ending. I also got pretty bored during the book. And good lord Lailah was terrible!! I don't remember if she was always bitchy or what but I could not stand her in this book.

So yeah just an over all flop for me.

This was a satisfying ending to an all time favorite book series. I'm not sure what it was but this book felt different from the first two books. I wanted more from the romance but it was still an enjoyable read. I will miss these characters!

*My Thoughts*

Jonah is the third and final installment in author Nikki Kelly's The Styclar Saga. Readers will find themselves right back to where Gabriel left off. Lailah made a deal with the universe to reverse time in exchange for saving Jonah's life. Now, it is time to find a way to destroy the third dimension and Styclar Pena. The Third Dimension is where Purebloods come from, better known in this world as Fallen Angels. It is a world that exists in a state of cold, dark matter where scavengers collect dark energy released in death by humans with dark souls.

The storyline to these books was so intricate and captivating. Since I starting reading, I have not wanted to put it down. These books really make you think and cause you to feel such deep emotion towards these great characters. The ending of this story invoked emotion in me that I have not experienced in a long time, whether it be from reading a book or from anything for that matter. I will probably be thinking about this story for a long time afterward. I just want to say thank you to the author for giving me a great opportunity to dive into another person's life and get lost for a while. Everyone considering it, PLEASE READ!

I had in mind starting this book my perfect ending which included something like Lailah and Jonah living happily ever after forever. After reading the ending that Kelly wrote, I can say that I am pleasantly surprised. A lot of people disliked the ending but I completely disagree. There couldn't have been a more magical and beautiful ending to such an intriguing series. I'm so glad that I found this series. It is definitely one of my favorites, up there with Harry Potter. Great job Nikki Kelly! You have true talent.

This book has utterly destroyed me! I'm so sad that this book is the last in the series! Nikki Kelly has created a world so surreal and magical. Full of action and adventure from the very first page. Many unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend this book / series!

Jonah is the third book in the styclar saga series written by Nikki Kelly. In the book Jonah gets “killed” or so Lihala thought, she finds in his journal a drawing of herself dated today with the word "butterfly" effect in greek. She figures out that he is not actually dead, he is just in the third dimension. She goes back in time and brings him back the second dimension and goes to the third for him. She tries to kill the first vampire, zherneboh, but Jonah goes to the third dimension to find Lailah. When she is in the third dimension, she decided that since she went back in time, she owes the universe, and is going to kill zherneboh and take the third dimension down with them, along with killing herself. But Jonah comes and takes her out before she can and zherneboh escapes before she could kill him and since she destroyed their river of dark souls, they have caused major chaos in the second dimension. When they get back three years have passed, but she has only been in the third dimension for 3 minutes, but time travels way slower there. When she gets back Phelan has decided that she will play as the savior to put faith into his group.
I really like how in the book she is making Lihala choose between Gabriel and Jonah. It makes the story really interesting and the suspense of who will she choose, Gabriel the fallen angel, or Jonah the dark vampire? I also like how she had her “choose” one of them, but still loves the other, but he still fights even though he knows that she doesn't love him like that anymore. I also like how she makes the characters have a love-hate relationship, like Lailah and Gabriel, she loves him but she doesn't like that he will sacrifice anything and anyone for her because she thinks that others are more important than her because she has lived so many lives. Another thing that I like is how she makes Lailah have all these emotions when she is looking back at the past. I think that it makes the story really fun to read and adds on the realism aspect of the story. I also like how she has it as whose world will be destroyed, the third dimension for vampires? Or the first dimension for angels?
I would definitely recommend the book if you love drama with all the fighting to save the world and the fight over who to be with, Gabriel or Jonah. I think that this book was really good and really fun to read with the suspense of “Is there going to be another attack? If there is, who of the sealgaire will die next?” I would also recommend the book because of the fantasy with angels, vampires, and mix between the two. I really like it because of the vampires and how she has made it different from what I have read or watched before with the pureblood vampires. I really like how in only the purebloods can create other vampires, called second generation vampires, and how she made Jonah do it in a past book but kept it a secret, it just adds to the suspense of the book. The one thing I don’t particularly like is the fact of how she portrays some of the characters, like Ruadhan, how she makes him seem like for some things that he doesn't really care, but then for others, he cares a bunch about. To me, it doesn’t make much sense, because the things that he does and doesn't care about are usually near the same thing, for example when he didn’t care about how he was created and just kind of rejects it, but cares about religious stuff, yet he knows how it really happened. It doesn't make full sense to me, but I would still recommend the book because I thought it was really interesting with the vampires, angles and if the world will be saved or not.

It’s only fitting that I give this book five stars, as I have Gabriel four, and it was miles better. Granted, much like Lailah it feels like everything snowballs in the end, but boy are those last 100 pages good! I couldn’t put it down and needed to finish it. The ending is very, very bittersweet. First of all: one character who I adored throughout this whole series was Ruadhan, and when he died, I bawled like a baby. But getting to the ending (which... I’m not totally for the Darwin story line but I appreciate the continuity) of Lailah dying, I was happy she’d have someone to go to. And then Jonah went with her and I was like “okay, so a Romeo-and-Juliet-esc family reunion in not-Heaven.. I’m down.” I cried here too. I’m happy I stuck through the series, it was well worth it in the end, even if the ending is as grey as Lailah’s soul.

That being said: Kelly has a habit of repeating information. This was in Gabriel too, but it happened a lot here. Every time a character came back, she would give their whole spiel of who they were and how they related to Lailah and all that. I didn’t need that and it was kind of annoying rereading a bunch of stuff I already knew. Also didn’t totally jive with Lailah’s treatment of Jonah. She could have (and should have) treated him a lot better.

I liked the series as a whole, as it had very interesting plots, twists and characters, but I feel that there was a disconnect for me with the romance between the characters in this last installment. Honestly, I wished she ended up choosing Gabriel and not Jonah and for Gabriel to get his powers back in the end but Laila and Jonah die...seriously? The last 100 pages or so really picked up the pace, but it felt rushed and the ending felt lazy...nondescriptive...like you are trying to figure out what exactly happened. You hope for a better ending so you hope you misread the ending. Overall, great storyline but filled with missed opportunities as the author changed the love story and gave it a rushed/butchered ending.

I was looking forward to this book for so long but was met with disappointment. The main character was really annoying. She was always complaining and spent most of the book sulking around. The ending was so fast. There was too much action without much explanation of what was going on. The epilogue was rushed and a big a disappointment. The romance was awful. There was no connection between the two characters. I was really sad by this because I loved the them in the first two books. I really liked Jonah in the first two installments but for some reason in this book he seemed a little stiff to me and we didn't see much of him. Overall I was really disappointed by the final book in this series.

So I thought the ending was a bit of a downer and possibly lazy.
What I also disliked was the graphics. I struggled to comprehend what the author was trying to describe and sometimes my eyes skimmed over the lines.
I think she could have done much better with the characters and possibilities.
Also, this Lailah is different somehow. She seems duller and more spaced out and even drama-queenish.
Not the Lailah I know and loved from the first book.

3.5 Stars. This series is magnificent, always ending in a way that makes readers want to carry on. The books were outstanding, nothing like I have read before. Then, there's the ending which made this book so beautiful yet so tragic. It's the most accurate statement to sum up the book.

Story just gets worse and worse every single page. I had to push myself to continue reading it. At one point, I was just skimming the words until it somewhat got good again. And it's so predictable it's sad... 😒

Maybe it's just because it has been a while since I've read the previous two novels in this trilogy, but I felt very disconnected from this. The action in this installment didn't pull me in like the previous books did. I wasn't very interested in what was happening and while this is a short, quick read, it still felt like the pacing was slow and it could have been condensed. I do have a lot of love for this trilogy and would recommend it to people, especially because the first 2 novels are so intriguing and wonderful. Overall, not the conclusion I was wanting but still okay.

This was an okay finale most of the time, but I was often confused toward the end. I wasn't quite sure how to picture what was going on. This is told completely from Lailah's 1st person point of view still. Poor Lailah can only see out of one eye now after she went to the third dimension. She has scars too. I wish there was more romance and I really wish the ending was better. I still enjoyed the mythology and the angel stuff. It made me think of the Angel Burn series.

What an amazing ending to an amazing trilogy! Be prepared, Nikki Kelly will rip your heart out and hand it back with no apologies. But the end is worth the pain, I promise!

In Jonah, we start off with a gorgeously written re-imagining of Creation and the Garden of Eden. It is here that we finally learn the truth of how the Dimensions, and all that exist within, came into existence.

We quickly pick up right where we left off in Gabriel. Lailah has picked her ship and she's determined to see him saved, even if it means sacrificing her own life to the third dimension. Lailah is prepared to die in order to seal the rifts between the third dimension and earth and save everyone that she loves, after she saves Jonah. Too bad Jonah wasn't on board with the plan.

Paraded around as The Savior, Lailah struggles with reconciling her two halves: angel and demon, and what it means to be truly human. And only a chance meeting with an old friend who knows her only as Cessie, does she gain the clarity she desperately needs.

The end, guys... the end is as brutally beautiful as a butterfly's wings. But it's perfect.

I have been a fan of Nikki Kelly and The Styclar Saga since day one and cannot get enough of these characters. I have unabashedly proclaimed my love for Gabriel and will ship him and Lailah until the day I die. However, I have nothing but love for Jonah and I think it really says something for the character development throughout all three books.

I will miss the characters and the world that Nikki Kelly so intricately created and if you haven't read The Styclar Saga yet, what are you waiting for???

4.5 Stars!

The conclusion to The Styclar Saga is finally here! This was an amazing, intense and emotional read. I just couldn't get over the ending!

Book 3 picks up where book 2 ended with Lailah being in the third dimension prepared to destroy it, Zhernoboh and herself in the process. I loved how Lailah has developed over the series and can finally see that Jonah truly loves her for she is. I also loved how the details of the first and third dimensions were finally revealed to us!

The final battle between good and evil was epic as the angels came to assist The Sealgaire in defeating the vampires. It was really action packed. The ending of the novel came as a surprise to me though and was quite emotional.

I truly enjoyed this series and recommend it to fans of fantasy, romance and action!

Since I lost my kindle right before christmas I was able to read some books that I have been dying to read and this is my first book of the year. I had read the first two books and fell in love with it, with that being said I absolutely loved the ending of this saga. It had so many twists and turns and in the end I think the author gave us the best ending that could ever have gotten. I was completely enthralled in this book the whole time and did not put it down till the end. I just am upset because I will miss all the characters in this book.
