Even the pickiest of Gungans will eat their fruits and veggies when Bubble City Salad and Boss Nass Broccoli are on the menu. With this exciting new sequel to the best-selling The Star Wars Cookbook: Wookiee Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes, Star Wars fans of all ages can cook up more out-of-this-world fun. From razor-toothed Opee's Sea Crunch (for fish fillets with a real bite) to Darth Double Dogs (doubling as a light saber you can eat!), this intergalactic Star Wars cookbook features healthy snacks, delicious dishes, sweet treats, and easy main courses no Rebel can resist. Featuring hilarious photographs and recipes and wipe-clean pages, The Star Wars Cookbook II even includes a shiny plastic stencil of Darth Maul to help decorate culinary creations. And age is no issue when the Force is with you-adults as well as kids will have a great time with this book.
2 1/2 stars I appreciate the color photos with the addition of related characters that accompany each recipe. Overall though, almost all of the recipes are just regular ones renamed with a Star Wars twist. In that sense, the book was disappointing.
This was fun to peruse. There were a few recipes in the back that I want to try =) There is also a stencil included in the book for one of the recipes. I'll be looking this one up again.
Although the recipes in this sequel aren’t nearly as inventive as those in the first book, it still has very some fun stuff. Well worth checking out! 👍🏼
This book, like the previous installment in the series,"The Star Wars Cookbook: Wookiee Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes" is rarely on my shelves at my K-5 library. Although not as popular among my diehard Episodes IV-VI fans, it still stays checked out from the beginning of the school year till the last possible minute before summer and also usually has a waiting list. Like the previous book, each recipe has been given a Star Wars based name and is illustrated with cleverly placed Star Wars action figures or illustrations of scenes from the movies (Star Wars I-III). There are no stickers in the back of this volume, but there is a hard plastic template of Darth Maul's face, to be used for the Darth Maul Dip or to put a Darth Maul pall on your fave cake.
This is great - easy recipes that are perfect for getting your kids (particularly boys) into the kitchen. In general, the stuff is kid-friendly, lots of good snacks and basic meals. As you'd expect, some of it is based on presentation. But this is worth checking out for the illustrations alone. This was a little more creative (recipe and presentation-wise) than the first book.
If you like Star Wars or are looking for a way to get your adolescent boy eating better or more interested in food. While these recipes aren't necessarily low-fat or cal (and no nutritional info is provided), they're pretty balanced, especially compared to prepared foods your kids may otherwise be eating.
Not a good as the first. The recipes in this second installment seemed contrived. We haven't tried any of the recipes yet, (though we've had the book out from the library for some time now) will try the banana butter (featured in the Boonta Classic Waffles recipe), the Pickle Jar Jar, the Amidala Challah, and the Opee Sea Crunch. I have high hopes for the Banana butter and the Challah; the pickles and fish, not-so-much. I would purchase the first book, Wookie Cookies. I would never buy this one.
My kids loved the photos and names of the food even though we aren't huge into Star Wars yet. The food we tried was good, but many recipes were complex for a young child. Maybe more age appropriate for a 10+ year old cook.
The recipes were not creative...most of the pictures of the finished foods looked absolutely disgusting. The only two we felt were worth trying was the Darth Maul Dip and the Opee Sea Crunch. And they were okay, not great.
there is seriously a stencil of darth maul's face so that you can make a dip. buy this if you love star wars!!!! and/or dips that look like darth maul....
cookies from your favourite sci-fi movies ... what could be better ? The pictures are just hilarious, and the recipes are such fun to make. Great sequel to the Star Wars Cookbook.
Awesome. Great food. Great stories. Obviously, Great Movie. Everything was really great.
This book truly dives into the universe of STAR WARS and also the universe of... the kitchen?
Yup, this book combines two of my favourite things, Star wars and FOOD.
I would definitely recommend this book to the chef in the family, the star wars fan, the chef and star wars fan, or someone who just wants to do some cooking with a tiny twist.
