From a secret duo of USA Today Bestselling Authors, comes another COMPLETE STANDALONE in the Single Dads Club set of books.
Turn-ons…
Party girls. Platinum blondes. Zero expectations.
I used to think that if you could combine all three into one female, you’d have the perfect woman.
Then why the hell does Ava Pearson—an outdoorsy girl, a brunette, and a woman who screams stability and responsibility—seem to be the only woman on my mind lately?
I’ve got enough obligations without adding any complications to the mix—my son, my bar…well, that’s about it. But that’s enough for a guy like me.
It’s the cupcakes. It’s gotta be the cupcakes she bakes that keep me coming back for more. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right? Apparently, it’s a direct target to his junk, too.
Did I forget to mention that she’s my buddy’s daughter… another member of the Single Dads Club’s daughter?
Ava might say she can handle being friends-with-benefits, but I’m not sure she can. Unfortunately for her, I’m too selfish of a prick to care—until I do.
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
I'm not a huge fan of the covers for this series. The model is nothing like "I" pictured Dane. The composition and typography are pretty good, and as I said with the first cover, I really like the series graphic.
Will wonders never cease? I actually really enjoyed this book. I absolutely LOATHED Dane in book one, so I didn't have high hopes going into this one. But the authors managed to make me a Dane fan. Oh, he was very much still a douche noodle at the beginning of the book, but that said as the book goes on layers of his character are peeled back and what emerges is a pretty decent guy.
As per usual with these authors, this one was well written and paced. In fact, I thought this one was better paced than book one. It held my interest from beginning to end. There were some interesting twists. There was some humor. There were some feels. There was adorable hero-kid action. There were some smokin' hot sex scenes. There was a nice array of secondary characters. There was a cameo from Cole and Whitney and kids (The Bartender).
Both main characters were likable. As I said, Dane grew on me. I had a rough beginning with him as there is a fine line between adorable, sexy, manwhore and egotistical, douche manwhore. He crossed into the douche side for the first 30-40%(?) but like I said above as we learn more about him he grew on me. I should also add he was WAY toned down in this book (thank god). So that helped as well. Ava I just adored from start to finish. She was sassy and sweet, and I LOVED she made Dane work (a little) before letting him back in after his idiocy. I'll admit I shed a tear or two at how sweetly Dane tried to get her back. Lastly, this was all wrapped up with a sweet and heart melting epilogue.
So there you go. I went into this one with much dread. In fact, had I not signed up for all ARCs in one go I would have probably chosen to skip this one, and that would have been a damn shame on my end. Two thumbs up from yours truly.
I read the 1st book and mentioned in my review, that I didn’t like Dane – male protagonist of this book. Damn, the man had no manners. Not much changed in this book. I had zero expectations and I knew, that this man was obviously blessed with his small head better than with his big one. And till the moment he showed me his good heart I saw him like this:
Lucky guy! He never met me! *lol* The things he said… *shudder*
Ok, no expectations, no disappointment. And after I learned about his “good” side , I could read without eying the big shiny knife in my kitchen.
But I definitely expected cooler female protagonist, who would show more resistance. Well, no such luck. She wasn’t that desperate, but I still wish she would make him work harder.
Friend with benefits arrangement. I like those. Why not? But as in other 99% of the books she was the one to fall in love. Ugh! I wait till the day the authors will give us, women, more credit. We can have sex without falling in love! We can be friends with benefits without secretly naming our future babies. Ugh!
And here comes my main conflict with the story. She told him she had feelings, he didn’t chase her. Not cool, but somehow understandable. He didn’t promise her forever, he didn’t name her his gf. Bummer, yeah, but they had an arrangement!!! The worst part, all their mutual friends and also his parents, blamed him. Why? Again – he didn’t promise her something more than sex. What was the problem? It’s 21st century, people, we sometimes do have sex and don’t marry each other. And despite I wasn’t his fan, I must admit that he was honest with her.
I had a feelings their HEA was forced by opinion of the others. Everyone expected him to come to his senses. Lucky her, he did have feelings for her after all. But what if he didn’t?! I liked how he helped her with the bakery after the fire; he acted well. But after all his friends and family forced him to “open his eyes”, I asked myself if it was a real HEA.
Last chapters were cute, sweet epilogue.
So, it’s just über-picky me.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
It's was pretty fun read. Sweet and pretty short and fast-paced. Not too much drama and the two had a wonderful chemistry.
Only 3.5 stars because it didn't really make me laugh too hard or cry or anything like that. It did make me smile though and it was exactly what I needed. Like that chocolate cake you want when you're not in the best of moods.
I really like this series, can't wait to get to the next one!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up Dirty Talker. I think anyone who read Real Deal would agree that Dane was a little...over the top. I distinctly recall being curious about the woman who would manage to tame the outrageous Dane Murray. I was a little apprehensive going into this because, I'm not going to lie, he grated on my nerves a bit in book one. But y'all? Something remarkable happened here. When the authors decided to give us a book from Dane's point-of-view, we got a very different Dane indeed. A toned down Dane. A multi-layered Dane. Ultimately? A completely irresistible Dane.
Yup, that's right. I loved him. I mean, there were some moments early in the book where I still wasn't sure. But as the authors began peeling away his layers, and as we got more of the spicy, sparky dynamic between him and Ava - I started giving my heart to him piece by piece. He was nothing like what I expected and - against all odds? I crushed way harder on Dane than I ever did on Marcus. Weird.
Dirty Talker did not play out the way I expected - and I mean that in the very best way. It was light and flirty, but it captured my heart in a way that surprised me - and felt so good. I adored Dane and Ava together. They were sizzling hot (as you might expect from a book titled Dirty Talker), but they ran deeper than that. They were sweet and funny and in the end I found myself completely wrapped up, head over heels in love with both of them.
I'm so glad I took a chance on Crazy Dane. If you're on the fence after experiencing him in Real Deal I strongly encourage you to give him a chance. But hold on to your hearts, because this cocksure rogue will steal it in, well, a heartbeat. Don't say I didn't warn you! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Even though I adore Piper Rayne and FLOVE all of their books, I'm honest enough to admit that I was a little nervous starting Dirty Talker. Dane Murray made quite the impression when we first met him in Real Deal and so I didn't really know how he could redeem himself. He was VERY outrageous and crass to put it mildly and I was more or less braced to feel more of the less than giddy feelings towards him. BUT ALAS my friends, The Unicorn Cock Whisperers came through and completely turned this Bad Boy Jackass into Mr. Wonderful. Ava and Dane were so HOT and sexy and their banter was out of this world! I absolutely love their heartfelt and honest romance and did not want it to end!
One main factor that I loved about this book was that it was told in dual perspective. We could finally get in Dane's head and understand where he was coming from! This folks was the main reason why I HEART Dane. He is my main squeeze. Move over Marcus, there's a new Baby Daddy in town and he is M-I-N-E! We not only understand why this commitment phobic man is the way he is, but we see the undying love he has for his son, his own insecurities and vulnerabilities. Don't get me wrong, he wouldn't be Dane without being Mr. Dirty Talker Sex God Extraordinaire, but we see a different side to him we can love and embrace. His connection to Ava seemed genuine, sweet but also steamy! They had a connection they both tried to deny but that's the funny thing about Love - it keeps trying to force you to acknowledge those pesky feelings! Dane had deep facets and it was fantastic to dig deep and see how wonderful he truly was.
I absolutely thought Dane and Ava were fantastic together even more so than Kat and Marcus. I was hooked on this story from the very beginning and smiling throughout the whole story. It was also wonderful to see some familiar Modern Love characters we've missed. All in all, this was an outstanding read and I look forward to Charlie and Garrett's book. 4 stars! ~Ratula

I need to be honest here. Despite loving everything Piper Rayne has written up to this point, I found myself seriously procrastinating starting Dirty Talker. I honestly just had no desire to read about Dane. Ava though, she intrigued me, and of course I'm a sucker for small towns and interconnected books. So I figured I could get into the world and love it.
No. I struggled still. I just couldn't make myself like Dane, and the early pages weren't helping much. At 20% in, I contemplated giving up. I skimmed over a few more pages though because I did feel as if I needed to know what happened with Ava, and all that talk about cupcakes was right up my alley.
Then something happened. A twist, a turn in the story. A glimpse a little deeper into what was making Dane tick. I fell slowly into their relationship before I even realized it. Almost like they did themselves. At that point I was devouring the pages faster than Dane devoured Ava's "Muff-ins", and even if I was late to the tea party, I found myself very in love with a dirty talking, commitment phobic single dad and his growing up too fast energetic son.
I'm so glad I didn't put this one aside, because it was so worth it for an ending that gave me all kinds of feels. So two stars for the beginning, and five for the ending. ~ George, 3.5 stars
~4.25 Stars~ I liked this so much more than I was expecting, I almosted didn't read it. Dane was not my favorite in the fist book, he was so OTT and unbelievably annoying, but he somehow snuck in there and stole my heart. This ended up being my favorite of the series.
I had some issues in the beginning, but was willing to look past them. I am not a fan of couples who have sex the minute they meet. Anyway, the hero and heroine meet, have sex, and the heroine goes home. Then it became a little confusing since after the couple have sex, the story moves forward three months but then there are paragraphs that go into flashbacks. I had to go back and reread some parts because I was not sure what was present and was in flashbacks. So I even looked past that and continued reading.
The MCs decide to be friends with benefits and like all the other friends with benefits one person gets hurt and it is not a surprise as to who that will be. I was enjoying the story. However at 60% or so, it just became blah. I don't recall any real angst. There was something that happened that made the hero decide he wanted the heroine, but it was predictable and at that point I did not care. I never felt that the hero really cared enough for the heroine to believe his groveling. I felt it was more of an ego thing for him.

Synopsis: Turn-ons…
Party girls. Platinum blondes. Zero expectations.
I used to think that if you could combine all three into one female, you’d have the perfect woman. The other guys in the Single Dads Club razz me for wearing the crown of the forever bachelor. The one who’ll be in his seventies chasing down young hotties in his wheelchair.
Then why the hell does Ava Pearson—an outdoorsy girl, a brunette, and a woman who screams stability and responsibility—seem to be the only woman on my mind lately?
Especially when I’ve got enough obligations without adding any complications to the mix—my son, my bar…well, that’s about it. But that’s enough for a guy like me.
It’s the cupcakes. It’s gotta be the cupcakes she bakes that keep me coming back for more. After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right? Well, it’s apparently a direct target to his dick, too.
Did I forget to mention that she’s my buddy’s daughter…another member’s daughter?
Ava might say she can handle being friends-with-benefits, but I’m not sure she can. Unfortunately for her, I’m too selfish of a prick to care—until I do.
My Thoughts: Holy crap I loved this book! I loved Dane and Ava! After reading Real Deal, Marcus and Cat’s story, I wondered how these authors could find redeeming qualities in Dane. Well folks they did! They made me fall in love with him and I definitely wanted him to find his HEA with Ava. I loved both characters!
What a great time I had watching Ava and Dane’s love story unfold, with twists I didn’t see coming, I was glued to my e-reader. They tried to fly under the Climax Cove radar, as secret friends with benefits, but the gossip mill wasn’t having it. What was even harder was that Dane and Ava worked across the street from one another and between her cupcakes and his charms, they were a recipe for commitment. They had such great chemistry! So smoking hot! They were a perfect match and when Danes son Toby is added to the mix, it just tugged at my heart strings. He is such a sweetheart.
This is such a fun and sexy read! I can’t stress enough how good this book and this series really is! I can’t wait for the next book!

This was an easy and sexy friends with benefits romance. I hadn't read/listened to the previous book in this interconnected standalone series, so this was my first exposure to our hero, Dane Murray. Even though this is book 2 in the series, it can be enjoyed without reading the previous book and I had no problems getting wrapped up in the world of Climax Cove.
Dane is the classic no strings and no commitment alpha, but as the story progresses we see that there is much more to this arrogant single dad. I liked that he was open and honest about what he wanted (and didn't), but I did feel that his epiphany at the end of the book was out of character and came out of nowhere. The ending and epilogue made up for it though and left me with a smile on my face. I may not have particularly liked him in the beginning, but I found that Dane had wormed his way into my heart by the end. The twist regarding Toby was not one I saw coming and certainly helped change my overall opinion of Dane too.
Wen Ross was perfect as the sexy and cocky Dane. He had me swooning one moment for Dane and then squirming in my seat the next! I love how both Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott give each character a distinct voice too so that I never have issues figuring out who's speaking. Duet narration always makes a story stand out and flow more naturally for me as well. This was an enjoyable listen and has me very interested in reading/listening to the next book about Garrett!
Another great one—this book definitely lived up to its name! 😉🔥
Hot, fun, and a bit emotional in all the best ways. One minute I was blushing, the next I was smiling like a goof, and then suddenly getting hit with the feels. Again.
Romantic, spicy, and sweet with just enough heart to keep you hooked. Loved it! 🥵💘🥹📚
Dane and Ava were so fun to read. I loved that Dane was the playboy that was never going to settle down, but he was actually secretly sweet and a great dad for his son. It was a easy read/listen with a hot and spicy friends with benefits romance plot. There was a bit of a shocking twist that I didn't see coming. There was a little more emotion to the story than I was expecting and I loved that. Dane definitely lives up to the title of the book with the mouth of his. Overall, a cute and enjoyable story.
I loved the setting for this book. It was a small town where everyone knows everyone. I liked both our H/h and I think they do belong together. I got a little frustrated with Dane and how he pushed away a little but overall I really enjoyed this book.
OMG outstanding! The more I read from Piper Rayne, the more I love. I'm dying to know if I read their individual work lol
I was a little concerned about Dane after reading the first book. Let me just say that I shouldn't have worried. That twist midway through the story had me melting with a huge sappy grin. My Hubs had to ask if I was OK ☺ Dane and Ava were awesome.
Probably one of my favorite books from Piper Ryane so far and i can't believe it was Dane who took it away. We all remember Dan from Real Deal (that is, of course if you've read it) and that man absolutely took the douche canoe prize without any troubles, trust me. I didn't like him and i sure as heck didn't want to like him - like at all. There was just something about him that rubbed me the wrong way.
4.5 sexy dreams
So when i picked up this book, i was nervous. I didn't want to hate this man during the entire time i read his story. But you know how they say 'don't judge a book by its cover'? i was so very wrong about Dane - oh, he's very much arrogant and cocky, but there's a reason for his ways and there's more to him than meets the eye. Then i fell in love with this man; with all of the annoying parts, the good ones and even the cringe worthy ones. In true Piper Rayne fashion, i laughed and tumbled down that rabbit hole all over again. I can't wait to read more form this series and will probably be re-reading this series in the mean time.
Dane Murray is one of the best surprises this year!!
The first book in this series was bit of a let down...4 stars vs 5 fabulous stars that this author duo always gets from me. Dane was seen as carefree, loud-mouthed commitment-phone single dad but this book proved that there was so much more hidden deep within!! From the previous book we know Ava and Dane have a big fight when he finds out that she is his son's counselor and a very good friend's daughter. What we didn't know then that they had had an unforgettable one-night stand before this. After the fight, they hate each other. Now she has opened her bakery business right opposite his bar and he is addicted to her cookies, muffins and cupcakes. Ava was a sweet, smart and adventurous woman who wants to focus on her new business. Being around Dane arouses and confuses her. She proposes a monogamous friend's-with-benefits relationship with Dane and he gladly accepts. What would she do when she realizes she's in love with him and he will never commit? Dane was such a revelation. I did not care much for him in the first book but his passion, love for his town, dedication to his son and dirty talking with Ava blew me over. The seven days he spent in the end - best thing ever!! Guys you have to read this book only for the best proposal ever!!! *~*~*ARC generously provided by the author in exchange of an honest review *~*~*
I didn't expect to like this one, mostly because I didn't care for Dane in the last book. I hated how he was portrayed as a big man-child/man-whore. And there were times when he did annoy me with those same actions in this one. But he slowly won me over starting with his frank talk to Ava about wanting more from her, friends with benefits with only her, no one else. Then there was how he kept pushing Ava's business, getting everyone to buy from her and lastly there was the truth behind Toby. That alone would have made me like him better.
I liked how Ava and Dane were, they had fun, spent time together, were really dating even though neither of them would admit it. So you knew something was going to happen, one of them would get upset with the FWB relationship they had, wanting more. It sucked when that happened, sucked even more when the person realized what really could have been lost. Although I did love the groveling to get back together.
The ending had me smiling. Nothing like a long term plan to go big!
As a newbie to this series, I had yet to have the pleasure of being introduced to our lovely Dane. For which I am glad, as I didn’t have any preconceived notions about him. He had already started to win me over with his blurb and ‘groin cleavage’, lol!
I have to start by saying how much I loved the writing style in this book. I felt as if I was sitting at the bar in the Happy Daze Tavern & Grill with Dane telling me his story one on one, whilst I was sipping on a watermelon martini.
So engrossed in the story, I devoured it one sitting – snort/giggling and overheating away. I loved the banter in the book, and found myself lol’ing on more than one occasion.
Dane makes no apologies for who he is. His two main priorities in his life are his son and the tavern. He never makes empty promises to the women who come and go from his life (bed, bar – you catch my drift?). He is completely upfront about what he wants and expects from his time with them. Credit where credits due, ladies.
Only Dane finds himself craving another taste of the sassy baker, Ava, across the street – repeatedly. Friends with benefits seems an ideal solution, doesn’t it? *groans* I wanted to slap him upside the head. This was obviously a decision made by his little head not his big one *snorts* Warning: car crash imminent.
Ava, against her better judgement, agrees to Dane’s deal. Full of sass and wit, she is the perfect sparring partner for him. Yet, what happens when her heart starts to overrule her head?
I honestly couldn’t recommend this book enough. I can’t believe that this is my first read by this author either. I should be ashamed, I tell you!
It’s the perfect combination of romance, humour, heart, heat, and a teeny bit of suspense. Dane surprised me (this man has layers), and that it is something not easily done.
Note: Copy kindly received from author in exchange for an honest review.
The Single Dads get hotter and hotter. Did you hear the one about the bartender that walks into the bakery? Dane and Ava are this off the charts hot in this deliciously sexy story. Dane is an incredible dad and hearing his story about how he has taken on the single dad status broke my heart and had me smiling at the same time. This man will do anything and everything for his son (within reason) but he is THE man you’d want to see as a father figure. Ava is not your typical baker and her shop goes to show you that. Hearing her reasoning as to why she puts particular men into the “off limits” category is understandable but seeing her push her boundaries and follow her heart is beautiful. I am hooked on this series and can’t wait to jump into our next Dad. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Now that's what I'm talking about! That is a Piper Rayne novel at it's finest! I had my doubts because the first book in the series was mediocre but those were smashed within the first couple pages! Everyone has an off day but the author was definitely on high! I was lost in wanting to root for Dane or punching him for not falling in love with the sweet and adorable Ava, at first sight! I think my favorite part about this novel was the quirky saying on the cookies! It's an addicting romance that can break your heart and yet keep you begging for more. I never get tired of reading more from this author and she didn't disappoint with Dane's story. He turned out to be an extraordinary characters!
A month or so, I received an ARC for a Piper Rayne book, Real Deal, which was book #1 in the Single Dad’s Club. Excellent book! But, there was this one guy….a total douche to be honest...Dane. I mean, he’s got a dirty mouth which is totally hot, but his actions? Blah. I was not looking forward to book #2, which is Dirty Talker. Honestly, I thought about just skipping over his book.
I WAS SO VERY, VERY WRONG ABOUT DANE.
I enjoyed how the book started out with a note from Dane explaining himself. I knew right then and there that this book was going to throw me for a loop. I had a feeling I was going to fall for Dane, big time.
Dane owns Happy Days and is cocky, arrogant man who knows what he wants. Ava is the one night stand that has reappeared as the owner of the Mad Batter bakery across the street from him. The minute Dane walks in the bakery, he knows it is owned by the girl, his secret fling, that has been occupying his mind.
Knowing they have something smoking hot between them, an exclusive friends with benefits relationship would work perfectly, for the both Dane and Ava. Even though they think it’s nothing more than sex and friendship, the entire town of Climax Cove is talking about the baker and the bar owner spending a lot of time together.
Can Ava and Dane just have a casual sex only relationship? What happens when feelings get in the way? Will Dane ever be able to be the man who commits?
The relationship between Dane and Ava was mind-blowing right from the start. The push and pull between the two, the freaking HOT sex, and just how their relationship evolved was magical.
I enjoyed how the characters from the Modern Love series are once again brought in seamlessly. And you can’t forget the talk of the “unicorn cock” :)
There is a twist...a MAJOR one I did not see coming. I was utterly shocked. Well done, Piper Rayne, VERY well done! It changed EVERYTHING! Right then and there, I fell in love with Dane Murray and his damn groin cleavage!
This story takes a turn and you know Dane ends up making a mistake. But when Dane finally mans up to fix what he’s done? He is truly one incredible guy, not at all like the one I read about in the first Single Dad’s Club book. Throw in Toby, Dane’s son, into the mix and their story is one I will not soon forget.
So there has been some interesting things said about Dane in the first book. He's cocky, arrogant, a player. I didn't think all of those things about him...,well, OK I did. BUT how can a guy be all bad when he's a single dad, no mother in sight and doing a damn good job at it. His son is happy and caring and all around a good kid. That says a lot to me. There are no dead beat dads in Climax Cove. So Dane's story is as good as I had hoped and more. Great job Piper Rayne!!! Dane is a bar owner and single dad. He is a player and has no interest in settling down. I think it's partially due to the fact that he feels he doesn't deserve it. His dad is very critical of him and what he does to improve his bar, which used to be his dad's. I think the other part is that he feels that no one will accept him and his son. And I think part of it is he hasn't found the right woman who wants him to come back time and again. Until Ava. Ava is the daughter of one of the single dads. She has also has lived most of her life with her mom, so she didn't grow up in Climax Cove. She is a baker who just happened to open up shop across the street from Dane. But this isn't the first time they meet. They first meet when Ava just finds out her mother is getting remarried and Ava is not welcome to live with them. She's drowning her sorrows at Dane's bar. He is instantly attracted and they wind up in the sheets. Oh baby, do they ever. They have a love hate relationship to begin with. They can't deny the sexual attraction but she can't stand his playboy ways and he can't get on board with knowing she would want a relationship. When they finally call a truce, they fall into a friends with benefits relationship. And it's an exclusive one. They try to keep it on the down low but how can you do that when the town is as small as it is? Add in that Dane is whoring out her bakery to everyone who stops two seconds to listen and the down low is risen real high. He comes to care about her more than he intended. And Ava was all in before she could even finish a batch of cupcakes. I loved Dane in the first book. I now adore his dirty, sweet and filthy side. This was so much more than I ever expected and wish I could find my own dirty talker.
I really liked Dane in this book. I was neutral about him in the first book in the series, Real Deal. Although, there is an intro in this book from Dane, and he understands why we readers may not have been all that fond of him.
I appreciated this approach, and the idea that the authors knew that he would be a bit of a tough sell to readers, and to Ava, after getting to know him in Real Deal. While this is a standalone, I do think you will benefit from reading the first book in the series (don’t worry, it was good and you will enjoy it) so you have a better idea of the reservations the reader, and Ava, start with at the beginning of this title.
But, and I was not surprised by this at all as Piper Rayne is good at this, there was a lot more going on with Dane than you would have guessed, and this is intentional on his part. The happy-go-lucky guy who doesn’t worry about much isn’t who Dane really is, but there is a lot going on, and he is not totally comfortable with sharing all of it. So, he keeps a lot of himself hidden.
I really enjoyed that we find this out about him as Ava does, we are along for her ride, so to speak, and we see their relationship develop along with the momentum given by each revelation as to who he really is.
Piper Rayne is a favorite of mine, in fact, when we saw people posting about the book, we reached out to the authors to see if we could get our hands on a review copy…which worked out nicely….because when we hear there is a new book by this writing duo, we want to read it.
The pacing was strong, and the plot was good. It was a little tough at the beginning to really get all that excited about Dane, but he (and the authors) knew this going into it, which helped.
Another absolutely amazing book by Piper & Rayne!!! I knew they wouldn't disappoint me in this book but I had no idea that this book would exceed my expectations so far and catapult into the #1 spot. Even Dane is now my #1 book boyfriend in the world of Piper Rayne! I have never wanted a book not to end so bad before in all my life. I literally put it down and picked it up hoping that somehow, someway more pages had magically appeared. I also devoured this book page by page, word by word in just a couple of hours. I did not put my kindle down until every last word was read. I honestly didn't think they could get any better but they keep proving me wrong after ever book!! And Dane, oh lord have sweet mercy Dane, he is so much more than what meets the eye and I can't wait for everyone to get to know my man more. (Lol) But I have always loved him and his humor and just getting to know that sweet side and that dirty Talker that he is was so rewarding. And Ava was not at all what I was expecting and that was such a nice surprise. And like I said single dad's is one of my weaknesses and I can't wait to get underneath Garrett and learn all about him!! If you still are living under a rock and haven't heard of the magical unicorn team of Piper Rayne then you need to start by reading them now!!!! I highly recommend any and all of their books!!! - By Tina
I have to be honest, I didn’t love Dane in the first book, but it seems I was not the only reader who found him a little much to handle. These authors however, were able to transform a selfish, brash, manwh0re into someone worth rooting for.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a piece of work, but we find out more about Dane’s loving/caring side and it helps smooth out his rough edges. With a title like Dirty Talker, the reader can be in no doubt of what kind of man to expect and Dane with his filthy mouth and groin cleavage delivers.
He’s met his match in the sassy, strong baker Ava, but even though she thinks her heart can handle a friends-with-benefits arrangement, she just might not be able to resist falling for Dane’s powerful mix of sexy, sweet and solid.
The sparks between Ava and Dane are insane and the snarky banter is just as sexually charged as their time between the sheets! They have an incredible chemistry that just jumps off the pages.
Dane’s a Dad first and a man with desires second, but he may have finally found a woman worth inviting into his family. Will he figure it out before it’s too late?
Standalone. HEA. No cliffhanger. No cheating. Second book in the Single Dads Club series, but each book is a standalone.
I was pulled right into this story. This story has laughs, fun, secrets, sweet romance, and heartbreak.
If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first: Real Deal (Single Dads Club #1)
This is Ava and Dane's story. Dane is a single father who owns a bar his life is full. But one woman is always in his thoughts. Ava and her special cupcakes. She has his body standing up and taking notice. Only a few issues with going after her. She is his buddy’s daughter. She thinks she can handle friends with benefits but can Dane? The love/hate relationship these two have going on might just bite them in the end. Can they ever think of a future or will Dane’s friend come between them?
I connected with these characters and the secondary ones right from the start.
I recommend this book and can't wait to see what this author had in store for us next.
Oh my gosh I loved this book/ Series. After reading the first book Real Deal I was waiting on Dane’s story.
Dane is a love and leave kind of man. No tires what so ever until Ava and the fun begins. Smart, Sassy and her banter with Dane is one of a kind. You will be laughing out loud with these two.
You will learn that Dane is not what you thought from reading Real Deal you get to see the inside of who he really is and want these two to make it work.
Ava is going to make him work for it. Dane thinks friends with benefits and that is not going to happen.
If you want a run romance read this is the series for you.
Oh, Dane! I thought you were a lost cause in book #1! I now know you wear an armor and a mask to protect your heart. He does have a heart and deep feelings, girls! He may act like a five year old, but there is much more to this man than we first thought.
Ava is driving him crazy and not just with her cupcakes. These two are like those friends who hate each other and everyone wonders if it is part of the foreplay or if one of them will succeed in killing the other. He's got the moves and Ava has his number. He is going to have to work hard for this one.
Love it, love it, love it!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thank you to the author for sharing a copy with me.
