***This short novella is intended to give this series a different point of view. This story is not required to be read between Book One and Book Two. Book Two will begin where Book One left off.***
Told from Erik's point of view.
In an instant Erik’s life comes crashing down around him. He runs after Harper only to find out that she’s attacked Clara, Ivan, and James. Unfortunately, Clara’s dead. Her death sends Ivan into a tailspin. He wants Harper to pay for the damage that she’s done. Erik realizes too late what led up to this. They had pushed Harper too far. This mess was their own fault. Clara’s death was on their own hands, not Harper’s. Of course getting Ivan to realize that takes time, time that they don’t have. In order to keep Harper safe Erik does the only thing he can to ensure that Clara’s death doesn’t get pinned on Harper. He lies. He blames a known killer. Marcus. This lie comes with a price. The council wants him caught. They want Erik, Ivan, and James to hunt him down. Given no other choice Erik agrees. Getting Ivan to agree to it is another story, and getting James to agree to the hunt is impossible when his attentions are only aimed at getting Harper back. The clan breaks apart but Erik manages to pull it back together, if only for a moment. While James runs after Harper, Erik works with Ivan to mend their relationship while they hunt down Marcus. No matter what they have to make certain the lies that they’ve spun are never uncovered. Will they be able to capture this dangerous vampire? They will, but only if they work together.

This was a nice little addition and some addition insight to the guys thoughts after the cliffhanger from the previous books. I liked that Erik came to the realization rather quickly that he messed up big time, I liked that James stepped up and refused to wait around, and I still dislike Ivan. He's still and ass who hasn't fully realized he errors - he knows he was in the wrong but he still too attached to Clara for my liking.
Ultimately, this book made me like James more and it lent some understanding to Erik. His idiotic idea of bringing Clara back is still inexcusable and I still don't completely understand his reasoning but he's admitted that he was in the wrong. AT LEAST he did state that he no longer had feelings for Clara since he gave his heart completely to Harper. Ivan...he's still on my shit list and even if he begs I don't think its enough for him to be redeemed in my eyesight. He deserves to live in his own personal hell of Harper being the James and Erik while he's on the outside. IF she does take him back my hope is that it takes a few books. I also hope that Harper is strong once she is found. I don't want her to just bend and forgive instantly. I want her strong, with a backbone of steel. She deserves for them to beg and plead and to have to suffer. I'd also love for them to see her with someone else and to experience the jealous that they put her through...payback is a bitch and they deserve their own dose of karma.
The cliffhanger at the end of book one, Bitten, left me feeling tormented. I was anxious to find if the death of Clara would destroy the clan or bring them closer together. This short novella relieved some of the anxiety the first book left me with. It resolved the issue of wether or not the clan would turn against Parker again, if the attack would be viewed as justified, and clarified why Ivan was so wrapped up in Clara. I wish there had been more time devoted to addressing the "issue" between Erik and Ivan, and why that wasn't a concern when Clara had been part of the clan...but was an issue with Harper.
What I didn't like, however, was that it painted Clara in such a good light. They grieved for her, gave her a hero's farewell, like she was an innocent victim who did no wrong!! While I understand part of it was to cover up how she truly died, but it also grated on my nerves. Clara knowingly came back into the picture - after walking away once before - and tried to take Harper's rightful place. She knew the situation going in, and tried her hardest to drive a wedge between Harper and the fellas! It felt like Clara's actions were swept under the rug and completely overlooked by Ivan and Erik.
By the end, I was left with a better understanding of what the characters were going through and was left feeling hopefully that things can be worked out with Harper.
So I read Bitten and I liked the story concept but the guys really pissed me off with their actions. While this says it doesn't have to be read before book 2 I think maybe it does. It gives you some clarity on why the guys acted the way they did. Also helps you forgive them. Much much happier with this series after reading this.
Another fantastic addition to this series and this story is from Erik’s point of view it’s only a short story but it’s a great one. The guys have pushed Harper too far when they bring Clara back into their clan to protect Harper but Clara has other plans and things turn out to be a disaster. James had gone looking for Harper when she ran away and Erik and Ivan lied to the council about Clara and now they have been sent after the Vampire who is killing humans. When they catch him they take him to the council and chaos erupts and the captured vampire kills Elizabeth and then the council splits up in fear. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but there is so much more to Erik’s story to keep you entertained and turning the pages. Erik’s story can be read between book 1 and 2 or even after book 2 the choice is up to you but this is a fantastic story / series and I know you will love it just as much as I do. A 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This short novella was a nice insight into the guys (or, more specifically- Erik's) minds. Erik finally starts to sound like a guy who realized his mistakes and learned his lessons. Now his main priority is to bring his clan back together, while also hiding what Harper did. James, again, seemed like a nice and reasonable guy (the most sane of the bunch), but we didn't get to spend any substantial time with his character to really get to know him, which is a shame. Ivan is a jealous, hateful little prick. “Instead of letting Ivan speak James shoves Ivan back with a growl. “No. You don’t get to talk. I’m tired of listening to your idiotic excuses.”. In my opinion, Ivan can fuck off. Let him leave the clan and the story. Good riddance to him. Trust me, he won't be missed. If Harper takes him back, I might stop reading the series. That just would be too much for me to handle.
Catching up on reviews. Didn’t realize kindle wasn’t marking these completed.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Really good book. I love being able to read the story from Eric's perspective; especially from the time the first book stops and the next book ends. It was great to experience all the feelings and emotions that Eric was feeling and have a little bit of an insight into the feelings of the other characters in the book. Can't wait to read about the perspective from Ivan's point of view, next.

This book was given to me by booksprout. I am leaving this review freely. This book is a great follow to the first but also identifies with a different character in this on going series. I love the way this book is telling more of the first but also gives more detail on another character. It just keeps building on the story and makes it bigger and better. I am going to go find the next book. Hope to see you there. Enjoy!!!!! I know I did.
This gives us the POV from Erik and what happened after the horrible incident at the house. He realizes that Harper was much more to them than previously and he is determined to get her back along with his brothers forgiveness and love.

Another wonderful book written by one of my favorite authors Raven K. Asher. I love reading her books she makes you feel like you are living the story instead of reading them and I love that. This one is no different I loved reading it.

I thought it a bit odd how they were very heartbroken over Clara when Harper is there. Especially since Clara left and then came back and tried to ruin everything. I also wished that the men got along, but they are very smarmy towards each other and I can't figure out why.

This tells the story from his point of view and how they will do what they need to protect her from all. Orleans they need to go after a known killer. Will the lies they have told come back to haunt them? Will the clan repair? See how they will do

*snap snap snap* Cedric deff knocked some sense into Erick! I'm so glad that Ivan is finally opening his eyes and poor James, the damn guy unlike the 3rd wheel.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

I liked this different perspective from Erik's point of view. It was a nice little story to explain more about him and his direct feelings without focusing on anyone elses voices in the story. This was a good way to add to the story from the first book.
This book gives you an idea why they brought Cara back. A very interesting read and will leave you wanting more. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and I give my honest reviw
