This is a story of how lightning struck twice, and the people who made it so.
Levardis Robert Martyn "LeVar" Burton Jr. is an actor, director, and educator who has been an icon for more than 35 years. He was the host and producer of the influential television program Reading Rainbow for more than three decades, and starred in the TV miniseries Roots and on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He lives in Sherman Oaks, California.
This was an easy read- interviews with the cast, background of episodes- in short, everything a Trekkie needs to get more from the series.
I enjoyed the behind the scenes interviews, particularly the explanation as to why Denise Crosby (who played Lt. Tasha Yar) asked to be released from the show, why she regretted it after they killed her character off and how she was able to return as a recurring guest star. The commentary even gave some information about where the novels took the characters after the show and the movies ended.
