I need her to get me off the charges brought against me for my latest dumb mistake. But first I want to get with her.
Riley is an ambitious young lawyer who thinks I'm not her type. I'm a military bad boy and now I'm a criminal to boot. She's representing me so she's not even supposed to entertain the idea of being with me. And I don't do the kind of relationship a good girl like her would want. As a NAVY seal, I'm good at going in deep and not leaving a trace. Getting in, getting out, moving on are all the things I do best. This case can make or break both of our careers. So neither of us can afford the distraction of a forbidden romance. I know I can get her to bend all the rules. But will she get me to break my only one? Never take my eyes off the mission of being strong, tough and completely single.
Juliana Conners writes romances you can get lost in, about addictive bad boys and the luscious, curvy ladies who win their hearts. She’s a part-time lawyer and full-time mom, who prefers to write whenever possible!
Juliana aims to live by the Omar Khayyam motto: “Be happy for this moment, for this moment is your life.” In addition to writing, she enjoys reading, traveling, skiing and listening to music… preferably all while in the company of her husband and their two young sons.
The idea is good, with Riley being the lawyer defending Jensen after he beats up his mother's boyfriend because the man is hitting her.
She's unhappy with the legal firm she works for and her inattentive boyfriend, and Jensen seems exciting. He's missing the military because he felt he had to leave as the charges were coming up against him.
Unfortunately, the writing here is pretty bad, with so many grammatical issues that it's hard to understand at times. The pacing is odd, with them suddenly declaring their love out of nowhere, towards the end of the book.
If it was better written, it could have been 3 stars, but this is sloppy and only held my attention as a quick, mindless read.
Riley Morrell, good girl attorney at a high paying legal firm is asked to do some pro-bono work with a military attachment and enters a prison to interview with the head of the Veterans Legal Alliance where she meets Jensen Bradford. This starts a chain of events in both of their lives that lead to some major changes in what that thought they wanted out of life and the direction they are headed.
Jensen becomes her first client at VLA where she is to defend him on an assault charge. Between miscommunication, rushed court dates and the differences in their backgrounds they have a difficult time making the instant connection that they both felt in the jail holding area where they first met.
The treatment of Veterans, PTSD, dysfunctional families, finding a new job in criminal law for Riley and a new job as a private contractor working at a military base to train new recruits for Jensen makes SEAL's Virgin a fast paced love story with a touch of humor and lots of hot sex scenes and a fun book to read.
Jensen & Riley have a chance meeting while Riley is considering pro bono work for the military to increase her prospects of partner at her law firm. When Riley decides to stand on an ethical issue & puts a major case in jeopardy her boss put her on a leave of absence. Riley ends up representing Jensen in his criminal case. Jensen & Riley fall for each fast dispute not being either's type.
I enjoyed this military romance read especially the dynamic between Jensen & Riley. They fight their attraction to one another but when they finally see the truth they both fall fast. This book is meant for mature readers.

Seal’s virgin by Juliana Conners a sublime five-star read. This is a bad boy military romance and Jensen Bradford fits all the descriptions, he’s a bad boy and he’s a military boy and always will be in his heart. When he finds himself in need of legal help he turns to the Veterans’ legal alliance, as it seems his bad behaviour may just have pushed the boundaries too far this time. Riley Morell is a successful lawyer, she looks to be on the right path to be partner before long. The only problem is she doesn’t have any military background, and that’s something everyone in her firm has. When she volunteers at the Veterans’ legal alliance she doesn’t imagine that this small thing will change her life so dramatically. Juliana Conners writes hot men, she writes hot men that you want in your life, this book will not disappoint.
I loved this story! I have heard it's an altered and extended version of a previously told love story but I had never read it so it's completely new to me. Jensen and Riley are an unlikely match but their connection is instant and undeniable. They fell fast, which I enjoy reading.
This story flowed well and was well written. I enjoyed everybody, including secondary characters, and found the whole thing interesting and hard to put down. I'd love to see more like this from Juliana in the future. So good!
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review
I found this book to be a quick read. this is a new author and her debut book. this book had so much potential that I don't think the author reached, with more writing it will come but for now this one fell a bit short. I liked how the author gave Jensen such a backstory to work with. I also like how the author dealt with PTSD at the end of the story because in the beginning she wasn't doing anyone any favors by having Jensen keep saying he didn't want to be labeled as "crazy" Riley is a weak woman, she works her tail off for the firm and is engaged to the boss' son but lets them take advantage of her. I shouted with glee when she finally stood up for herself. I also was a bit skeptical about them only seeing each other a few times and talking a bit and then they're in love with one another. then Riley takes Jensen into her house when he apologizes without so much as a bite me, you *$*$* ~ that I didn't understand. will definitely read another book by this author
To 'fit' into her future father in laws law firm, Riley, has to work pro bona cases with a military connection...enter Jensen Bradford, ex special forces in pararescues awaiting trial for assault and battery. The instant attraction is mutual but he's a commitment phobe, and she's a naive, 'yes' woman eager to please. Circumstances change throughout the book and Riley eventually grows a pair. Written well in a dual POV, with a very sensitive subject within. Jensen's two brother's appear, glimpses of their character for future books. A few sex scenes, along with a few typos but quite readable as an opposites attract standalone.
Jensen, bad boy, also war hero, wrongfully accused and in need of a good defense, hires Riley, a young lawyer that needs to do some pro bono work to look good for a promotion. The setting was good, the characters interesting, and as usual, a big communication problem caused most of the issues between them. I liked how Riley was able to face the problems in her life and solve them, I hate that it took a man for her to finally stand up for herself and her beliefs. The relationship side moved too fast, from lust to love, to hate, to love again, and forgiveness was too easy. In resume, the book was good, and entertaining, but still had some issues in the plot, not enough to make it bad, but enough to bother me.
I absolutely loved this book! Just imagine this - Riley, a beautiful, young up-and-coming attorney who follows the rules and does what everyone expects of her. She's kind of dating the son of her boss, who by the way is one of the partners in the law firm she works at and she's a virgin. She is working hard, trying to make junior partner and has to do some pro-bono work which is where she meets Jensen. He's a hot Navy Seal who doesn't believe in love or relationships, only one night stands and is dire need of legal help. Trying to protect his mother from her abusive boyfriend, he ended up in jail for assault. He's going through the Veterans’ Legal Alliance and sees Riley there while she's speaking to one of the reps about volunteering. Long story short, after being forced to take a leave of absence from her job after refusing to perform duties that are unethical, she ends up taking his case. He decides to leave the Seals and take a job training people so he doesn't ruin his military record if this goes south. Sparks fly from the get-go. Watching both Riley and Jensen transform is so wonderful to watch is this well written story. When you meet the right person it's is as if you bloom into who you were meant to be. That's what happened here. Juliana Conners did a fantastic job in the story of discussing PTSD and the stigmas that go along with it. The interaction between the two was so fun to witness as well as with their families. So much emotion, love, humor, important issues, seriously hot sex, family and friendship are all included. You need to buy this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This was a quick read but good story and worked well as the intro to the series. Riley is a young lawyer on the fast track to the life she's always been told she wants. She has the "right" job and the "right" fiancé and is on her way to partnership. Her only negative to partnership is her lack of involvement with the military. So, she volunteers with a veterans legal aid service which is how she meets Jensen. It's her first time visiting a jail and she meets him in the lawyer/client holding pen. He's an inmate. Of course, the attraction is instant. There are some bigger issues included that are thought provoking. She is faced with a serious legal/ethical question that throws her whole life off track and makes her rethink how she wants to live her life. The issue of veterans and PTSD and its impact on veterans lives is a key plot point. While Jensen's brothers are not fully fleshed out as characters, there is enough to pique your interest to read the rest of the series.
On the downside, the story needs some editing. There are a few instances when the characters names are mixed up so they are having conversations with themselves. Also, Jensen is not in jail for "mercifully beating" someone. It should be "mercilessly beating". Completely changes the meaning of the sentence.
I read this story sitting at the table after dinner and may read Harlow's story over lunch today. I am looking forward to it.
A great story of an ex SEAL, Jensen, who is being charged with assault and the lawyer, Riley, who is assigned his case. Jensen is a love them and leave them type but as soon as he meets Riley he knows she is different and makes him feel more than usual about any woman. Riley's life is a mess, her boyfriend is a jerk, her law firm uses her, her family berates her and until an incident at work makes her question herself she goes along with whatever is thrown at her and doesnt stand up for herself. When Jensen assumes the worst of Riley during his pre-trial he fires her and when another lawyer gets him to see the "light", all bets are off and Riley is his. A great story with steamy scenes and learning to trust yourself and another. I didn't really like Riley in the beginning....for being a lawyer she was not assertive and let everyone walk all over her but she finally redeems herself when she finally gets the confidence needed for a lawyer. I was also hoping she would stand up to her sister and tell her exactly what she is, a spoiled brat but otherwise a great read that I couldn't put down. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this story about Riley and Jensen. Jensen is a former navy SEAL and is charged with assault after he stops his mother's boyfriend from beating her. His lawyer from the VLA wants to use PTSD as a defense, but he doesn't have it and doesn't think it is right to use it as a defense. Riley is a young lawyer who is on the fast track to make partner at her law firm and is dating the founding partner's son. The only problem for Riley is she doesn't have enough pro bono hours and has no ties to the military. Riley thinks volunteering for the VLA will help her career. Riley's first case is Jensen after he fires his first lawyer. Riley is still a virgin and is very attracted to Jensen, but because he is her client and the situation at her law firm, she has no intention on acting on her attraction. Jensen is drawn to Riley and thinks she is just his type, so he makes a move but things aren't what he thinks. This was a really good story about Jensen and Riley. I liked the way Jensen makes Riley re-evaluate her life and how she changes to be true to herself. Great read
I had the privilege of reading and ARC copy. Riley thought she had everything she wanted in life. She graduated and passed her bar to become a lawyer at the most prestige law firm in the area. During one of her reviews her boss, who also happens to be the father to her boyfriend suggests she do some more pro Bono work and she is the only person in the firm that does not have military experience. So she decides to get it all done at once and volunteer for the military legal team. Jensen is a SEAL who's worked hard and is proud of his accomplishments. His mother asks a favor of him and he ends up getting arrested. Not liking how his current lawyer is handling his case, he fires him and Riley gets assigned to his case. Neither of them can deny the attraction they both feel, but she is his attorney. Riley and Jensen learn a lot about each other and about themselves, but most of all they learn about love. Everything you think you want might fly right out the window when the person that makes your heart flutter walks in the door.
This book is an amazing read we meet Riley an up and coming lawyer, and Jensen a seal.
Jensen has been charged with assault but doesn't want to plead a PTSD case but no one seems to be listening to him. Riley has the chance to work on a major case but due to some ethical issues she's sent on a leave of absence.
The best part about this book is that more than one of the characters finds what they are looking for. It's not only Riley realising that maybe a big law firm is not the right fit. It's Jensen knowing that his doesn't suffer from PTSD but that also may the military isn't for him any more. It's about Jensen's older brother realising that he maybe suffering from PTSD, Jensen's mother realising that the wrong person was actually being charged.
I totally loved this book, it was an easy and quick read. I did receive this book as an ARC but I'm leaving my review voluntarily.
Juliana Conners har again written a book that is steamy and so well written. This book is an update with Riley and Jensen as the main characters. I like that we get to know what happens with them. JENSEN has been rewritten and added a lot to it. This book made me almost scream and feel with Riley and all the problems and things she has to deal with. But then again it all leads to one person. I find that this book has so much passion, lust and commitment, that you just have to read it. There is amazing chemistry and passion between Jensen and Riley. But they have a lot of issues they have to fight through before they can go on. I loved the storyline and that the book is so catching and enjoyable. The characters develop und you follow them and you just have to like them. There is not other option. A absolutely must read!

This is the rewritten and extended version of ‘Jensen’
I quite enjoyed reading ‘Jensen’ previously so this book was as good. I liked the interactions between all the characters and getting to know them especially Jensen and his brothers. Riley was a bit up and down for me, she wasn’t a much loved character throughout the book as she did annoy me quite a bit. I loved reading about Jensen and Riley together, I thought they were great especially with how tough but caring Jensen was. I did feel the story jumped around a bit for me at some parts that had me slightly confused, things were said/done that were different from when it was previously mentioned which had me questioning a couple parts. But those were quite minor and it didn’t take long for me to become invested in the book again

DNF. CANT EVEN. Bad Boy SEAL has giant beard and huge beard. Just doesn’t fit. And she’s a lawyer virgin with a meek weekingling boyfriend whose the son of the partner at the law firm. It started out promising. Biker Seal dude gets arrested for assault and battery taking the boyfriend off his mom he was beating up. It had so much promise. Maybe he would shave his beard. Maybe there would be a slow build given their good girl bad boy attraction. I just don’t believe they seriously would have connected and given that it was her first time he would have let it go to meh proportions. Most of this smart is totally unbelievable. But this was truly not real. Oh well. Maybe I’ll pick III up again some dat. Could havebeen a great series. I just don’t believe with such a troubled childhood they would all be seals
Like all Juliana Connors books this one is a winner. Her characters come alive on the page and you can't help but become invested in their stories. Like others I kept thinking I had read this before and realised it was an extended version of Jensen (which I loved) and was even better than the original. When a book contains three hot seal brothers it is going to be good but then add in Riley, a lawyer within a hot shot firm who is basically selling her soul to make partner, and things get interesting. When Riley and Jensen meet sparks fly and instant attraction is inevitable. Without spoilers I can say the book ends with a HEA and is one I would recommend to any romance lover.

I really enjoyed this book. It grabbed me from the start and held on until the very last page. The story and characters were both well written and developed. There are some serious issues pointed out in the book, mainly PTSD. Ms. Conner did a perfect job with this issue showing what PTSD is and that not all ex-military have it. There is a lot of emotion, love, humor and hot sex in this book which just adds to the characters and the story being told. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bad boy ex-military alpha and a beautiful, up and coming lawyer who find each other and end with HEA.I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and this my honest opinion of this book.
Riley and Jensen cross paths when she's being required to put in some pro bono hours, and Jensen is facing jail time for being in a fist fight. I always love a good military romance, and especially when there is PTSD involved. I loved that Juliana Conners made the distinction that not all military men return from wars with PTSD. But she handled the issue in a considerate and well thought out manner. Jensen saw Riley as a challenge, but the real challenge was when he realized that she was more than just a simple hook-up Another wonderful, steamy romance by Ms. Conners. This book is the definition of naughty and nice. It was so hot, yet so sweet at the same time. This book grabs your attention and just never lets go. The characters are complex and well thought out. They just draw you right into the story, and you can't help but become invested in their lives. After that, rooting for them just becomes second nature. This book is engaging and insightful, romantic and impassioned, and enchanting and enthralling. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sexy and compelling read.
*I was given an ARC of this story and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.
If you've read Jensen or the Bradford Brothers box set this story will seem familiar to you. I would still recommend reading it as it is an expanded version of Riley and Jensen's story. I enjoyed their chemistry and connection. I would describe their story as an instalove one, which given their initial impressions of each other seems a little farfetched. However, who doesn't want to put themselves into a fantasy where a completely opposite hunky SEAL falls madly and instantly in love with them? I know I do, which made this an enjoyable read for me. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Riley is a lawyer and dating the son of a partner. But her boyfriend isn't paying her attention. When her boss asks her to act unethically and she refuses, she is told to take a leave of absence. She starts working for much less pay helping veterans who need legal help. She meets Jensen on her first day. Jensen is in trouble for protecting his mom from one of her boyfriends. Riley doesn't want to find Jensen attractive but she can't help herself. She knows that no matter what they can't date or sleep together. This was a good read and one I was able to read fairly quickly.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
First, let me say that I love books about someone that either is or was serving in the military. I really like how this book portrays them. Jensen, used to be a SEAL, and even though he is one sexy, tough man, he also is very caring and protective. Riley, who is a lawyer, but is a curvy, ethical lawyer. That, I liked about her. So, in this book, you have a sexy SEAL and a curvy, virgin lawyer. What you end up with is part really hot steaminess, and a very serious part about the military and PTSD, which equals a really good book. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy, and I also purchased it. I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book. Riley is a young up and coming attorney in her la firm. Always working, she feels neglected by her son of the owner boyfriend. So neglected that she has never wanted to give herself to him. After a frank meeting with the boss about her fit in the fabric of the office, Riley volunteers with a non-profit office representing veteran's in court. There she spots Jensen. Jensen s a former seal who is having a rough time. After being charged with assault, he uses the free help to get himself out of trouble and to keep his options open. Little did either know that this brief meeting will lead to a change of life for both of them.
This was an interesting and fun read, I loved the plot and the characters were sweet and entertaining, the majority of the story is based around a court case and and a romance that evolves because of it, It's a nice story and it was fun, sweet and entertaining throughout. The male lead was strong and confident but not overbearing and the female lead is a sweet, smart and a little submissive, it makes for an interesting and even a little steamy mix. I would easily recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet romance with an interesting plot that can easily keep you engaged from start to finish.
