Walking on Eggshells: Confessions from an Asperger Marriage and How We Made It Work

Rate this book
This is an Asperger romance. A true account of how young and obsessional love turned into a nightmare marriage of confusion, anger and recrimination. The discovery of how one partner was on the autistic spectrum and their coming to terms with and coping with this enduring situation. Karen describes in her own words, with complete honesty how she survived twenty years of walking on eggshells and feeling so very alone, before turning their marriage around and rediscovering the love they first had for each other.

I found this book to be a real eye opener. It has helped me understand why my husband of almost 40 years behaves the way he does. I could truly relate to many of the situations described by Karen and the behaviours are identical to many of my own husbands.

Perfect

Karen Rowlands did a fantastic job explaining the ups and severe downs, Living with an Asperger partner . It takes strength and knowledge to navigate a strong relationship with an Aspie.

Excellent book for anyone in a relationship with someone on the spectrum. Lots of insights, and really, a great book for anyone who has any relationship with someone on the spectrum.

Great book for those who have an Aspie partner. Validated my experiences and evidence that the struggle is not a product of my imagination.

Well worth reading if you/your partner is an aspie or suspects they might be

If I needed any more confirmation on my decision to seek a diagnosis, this did it. I feel I'm 75-80% in line with David and the main downside is seeing from an outside perspective how much I've put my wife through. My thanks to both Karen and David for sharing their story.
