A short historical analysis of the evolution of Brussels as a town that was in its origin a province town in the Duchy of Brabant and became the most important town of it. Thereafter it became one the capital towns of the Dukes of Burgundy and finally became the capital of the Netherlands until the war of independence of the Republic of Holland. Finally brussels became the chief town of Belgium and after WW2 the capital of the EU. It's a good short overview in a easy-to-read style.
