Since the port of New Orleans was a busy trade port, the land within the Louisiana Territory was considered valuable. As a result, Spain and France fought over control of the territory for many years. Once the French gained control of the territory, President Jefferson knew free navigation of the Mississippi River had to be secured. Surprisingly, Napoleon agreed to sell the entire territory to the United States for $15,,. Jefferson’s decisive action in securing this territory would come to be the greatest achievement of his presidency.
Review #1 Feb 5 2015 I am currently reading The Louisiana Purchase and I like this book. I like it because it has a lot of descriptions. Like when the author says that the Louisiana Purchase was a good act because the Congress was allowing it and because it was a thing that Jefferson wanted to do... Second the book is very helpful to our Social Studies class. I learn everything without the teacher reading the lesson! These were 2 reasons why I like this book. I like my book and rated it five stars. I rated this book five stars because this book is full of information. I explained it in my first paragraph. Second this book is not hard because it has big-written text. It is almost twice as big as the Giver's text. These were two reasons followed with examples in witch I explained why this book is a very good one.

Book 5 Review #4 11/04/2015 Hitler and the Nazis: A history in documents is very interesting. I learned that the Germany was called the German Empire until the end of the second world war. It was divided then into regions. Few years after the first world war, Germany had a depression, witch was called the Great Depression. “During the worldwide Great Depression, witch hit Germany in 1929, no Wiemar leader was able to solve the central economic problem, mass unemployment" (Crew 19). . I learned a lot of new things in the book that I am currently reading. I was taught that in concentration camps if you try to escape, you will be shot without warning. "If a prisoner attempts to escape he is to be shot without warning. Warning shots are forbidden in principle" (SS Service Regulations 97). When Jews need to go in gas chambers, the guards would lie and say that they are going to take a shower. But once the Jew is in the chamber, instead of water going out of the shower head, gas went out of it. This is what I learned in this book
