Alyssa's a rare mix of supernatural according to Thoreau, the demonic mayor, and she was every reason to believe him. She's already got a rare gene that turned her into a vampire and now her enemies burn from the inside out whenever she stabs them. On top of that, biting her hot Mage battle partner, Xavier, will strengthen them both and bring her one step closer to becoming the "Dark Pentagram," who will merge Earth with the Infernal world. Therefore, it's best to stay out of Thoreau's clutches unless she wants to see Hell on Earth.

But then Thoreau steals the secret to destroying the Underground, the society of supernaturals that Alyssa now calls home, she and Xavier have no choice but to go after him. Demons? No problem. Crossing the world? No sweat. Finding out whether or not Xavier likes her? That's tricky, along with learning where her strange powers came from. But none of that compares to her growing thirst for Xavier's blood, a thirst she may not be able to resist. Alyssa just might have to become the monster she's vowed never to be...

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I am a huge fan of this authors writing and I adore this series. This book is even better than the first one! I love how action packed and thrilling it is, its non stop which makes it a highly addictive read that makes you want to read more of this authors work and I am dying to read the next book!!

The storyline for this book pretty much starts where the first book ended. I really do love the style of this authors writing, its so approachable and real that it feels like you are actually living it, not just reading it. She is able to tap into our imagination and make it become alive, I love the passion that she obviously writes with!

One of the other things that I really enjoyed reading about this book was the character interaction and how we as the reader really begin to see who they really are inside and what motivates them. It is really enjoyable watching them try to figure out the dynamics of their relationship.

I adored this book and I can't recommend it highly enough, readers need to get this series and read this authors other books!!!

I really like Alyssa and Xavier, and I'm enjoying following their story. I'm really looking forward to see how everything is going to turn out, and really hope that we get to see them both get a good HEA. I'm really curious about the story of Xavier last/other/wtv battle partner and see where it leaves Xavier and Alyssa relationship.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. I do think somehtimes that the dialogue is really simple and a bit out of nowhere but I really enjoy the world and how everything is put togheter. We got to see a bit more about the mages (specifically the war mages) and what a bunch of stuck-up idiots.

Fire Magic is a wonderful crazy wild ride of reading pleasure and a sure sign that this is going to end up being a set of books that I will be regularly re-reading. Wonderful chemistry between the lead character and her boyfriend is but one of the asodcts that make Holly Hook's characters really grab her readers. Added together with a plot full of adventure, thrills and laughter, all set in a wonderfully well developed world built by the author, and the result is really special book indeed. Highly recommended.

This was an interesting book and addition to the series. I really like Alyssa and Xavier, and I'm enjoying following their story as they try to deal with everything and figure it out. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything turns out, and really hope that we get to see them both get a good HEA when the series wraps up, since anything else would be really disappointing and ruin the series. I was gifted a copy.

Fire Magic is Book #2 in Holly Hook's Abnormals Underground Series. You will need to read Book 1 first as the story takes up right where Book 1 left off. More Magic, More Supernatural Creatures. Full of Magic, Adventure, and Suspense. Loved it and so ready for the next book!
Holly has a way of making all her characters seem so real and it pulls you in from page one. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and I honestly loved it!!!

This is the second book in the Abnormals Underground series and is not a stand alone book. This book starts out right after the first ended. There's a lot of excitement, suspense, magic, teen angst and good vs evil. Alyssa is still on her journey of self-discovery. She and Xavier make a deal with a demon in order to save their parents. And that's just the beginning. I loved this book. Now I have to wait for book 3.

Fire Magic picks up just days after the end of Blood Magic. Alyssa's and Xavier's adventures take them around the world to stop the events started in the last book. New enemies are made and new traitors are revealed. At the climax of the novel, we find out what part of Alyssa's makeup causes her enemies to die the way they do. Ms Hook is weaving an exciting series, and I can't wait for the next book!

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

I really love this series. I never expected it to be thís good. The whole concept of a war mage and a vampire being Bound is so good, it provides extra layers of magic and friendship, loyalty and a good portion of thrilling events made by a certain demon that is eager to shape the world to his advantage. I can't wait for the next book!

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Holly Hook may be an indie author but she has such a way with words and her books are always really amazing. I've read about 14 of her books so far and they're always short and sweet but still kick-ass enough that it leaves me wanting more. Excited for the next book!

I’m actually really enjoying this series for a YA it’s a very good concept! I get a bit annoyed with Xavier sometimes he can be a bit premenstral! It’s definitely worth giving it a go if you enjoy the magic in books! I also find it a struggle that a whole powerful council don’t do anything about the big bad bit two teens do!

Fire Magic by Holly Hook is book 2 in the Abnormals Underground series. It's a YA paranormal series and book 2 begins about 3 days after the events of book 1 so it basically continues straight after.

This is a very interesting and full on book as Alyssa and Xavier get drawn into saving the Abnormal community from the clutches of Demon Theroux who runs the town.

Holly is still on an absolute roll with this new series. I may be a little bias as it's one of my favourite genres. But the twists and turns, the angst and teen sexual tension along with an original and action packed story would make it an enjoyable read for most.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

The action picks up again for Alyssa, Xavier and Janine at Leon’s funeral. As the long drawn out affair is going on something dark and sinister steals Leon’s body. His power lives on even though he’s passed and now it’s in the hands of someone dangerous and very likely in the possession of the evil mayor. Alyssa and Xavier set out to find him and discover that the mayor plans to burn out the Underground within a week so the clock is ticking. The only way they can get Leon back is to find and face off against the Dark Council who are the beings able to steal Leon’s magic or resurrect his battle partner thus bringing the cantankerous old mage back to life. A necromancer, a deal with a demon and a whole lot of craziness ensue as the duo try their best to save the homes and lives of the supernatural population.
I am very much enjoying the reboot of this series. It’s a great urban fantasy read, a bit gritty, magical and a ton of fun snarky characters. Alyssa and Xavier continue to develop as individuals, a team and maybe more. They are brave, un afraid, and perhaps a bit foolhardy due to their youth but they are determined to protect the people they care about that makes the story really stand out.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Yeah this mostly sucked. Actually pretty much all sucked. I didn't like the first one but it was okay, this was barely readable. The characters are irritating. The plot is stupid. The romance is ridiculous. I just found this annoying. I pushed through but it wasn't particularly easy. I try not to rate books one star unless I absolutely hate them. I didn't hate this one, but I also couldn't justify two stars. It's more a 1.5 stars. On the lower end of 0.5. On the other hand I bought the boxed set and I will likely push through the next ones. I don't like the idea of leaving books unfinished.

Alyssa’s dad is still missing and she has more powers. Xavier bound her to him, and try not to kill each other.

Holly is great at writing the next book leading to the next one.
