Janice McCord is fourteen years old, when the five Kraymon brothers ride in and shoot down her parents and twin brother Jack. She takes up Jack’s name and her father’s .45 to blaze a trail of revenge across the Territory of New Mexico. After out gunning one of the brothers in a saloon in Silver City, New Mexico Territory, outlaw friends of his are hot on her trail. When they catch up to her on the side of a mountain, she leaves a few more dead. Her fast shooting and sharp wit, turns a couple of them from lawlessness to helping her track down the killers of her family. She’s in jail, arrested for the murders of her family before she writes her cousin, U.S. Marshal Shorty Thompson for help. Help does arrive, but she still joins the outlaw gang that killed her family. Now they are getting ready to pull off the largest robbery in the Territory’s history. Over a million dollars in gold will be crossing Tecolote Creek on Saturday. To make sure she is the one to get the killers of her family and the revenge she has sought for months, Janice may have to fight her three friends and her cousin Shorty, along with half the U.S. Cavalry. It matters not, she has a set mind and will do what she has to do, or get killed trying. This she promised her dead parents and twin brother Jack, she would be the one to get them all. Her revenge may not be swift, but definitely painful and final!
The McCord family was murdered by a bunch of no-good gunnies. The family had gone to town for monthly supplies, and while there a bunch of no-count cowboys named Kraymon brothers, who were a burr in every town in the New Mexico Territories. One of the brothers decided he was going to force himself on any of the town women. Well, doggone he picked the wrong one, and her husband gave him a beat down. So from that incident, the Mrs. McCord knew there was trouble, retribution coming. And it did come fast and brutal, the only family member left alive was Janice McCord, who was at the farm when these men swooped down upon them. They left murder and mayhem and a fourteen year old twin girl who viewed programme the massacre of her beloved family. She buried her family as she was doing this, she vowed to her family and asked G..d to give her strength and direction to fulfill her vow. This another well written western go-get'em. In those times because farms, ranches, towns were spread so far apart it could be days or weeks before anyone is missed. These roving gangs popped up anywhere they wanted, sometimes they took over towns and treated them as their own fiefdom. United States Marshal Shorty Thompson, also plays a part, this McCord family and his family are related, his mother and Janice McCord are sisters. You'll need to get comfortable take a load off your feet enjoy this western. Like I've written before living in the west made you grow up quick, responsibilities occurred quicker than a flash flood..ENJOY the ride, don't forget your ARBUCKLES🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵

I like this type of story, whether it be western, scifi or whatever genre. Plot was good, text was ok, but the cursing was HORRIBLE!!!! LOL I could curse better than that before I even entered kindergarten. You know the old adage: If you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all? In this case it should be if you cant curse well, dont curse at all. Gosh darnit, hecky durn, dad gummit, I felt like I was in Romper Room. Sorry Paul, you need to enroll in Catholic School or somewhere and LEARN HOW TO CUSS
Not yet fifteen and her family is murdered and she promises to avenge their death. She practices until she is deadly with a 45 and goes after a gang of men. Manages to get herself arrested for her families deaths. Exciting story with a great ending.
Ok, but too drawn out. Found myself skipping pages just to get on with it. Interesting girl gun fighter pretending to be a boy to avenge her family's slaughter.
Just another day in paradise, as this novel continues the excellent tradition of the U. S. Marshal Shorty Thompson series. I am forever impressed with the author, and his ability to continue appeasing my desire of great western episodes.
This is one of the best storylines ever written for an exceptionally western escapades. I was impressed immediately with the author's ability to grab my desired attention. Again Paul L. Thompson takes us on a journey of hard riding and serving up old western type justice to the men who always want to take everything that is good from innocent people. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. This was a great read, well worth the time and effort for a non-stop wild ride. 👏,BRAVO!!!!!
I so enjoyed this book on Janice McCord, She gets herself in so much trouble, but manages to get out most of the time. It was a shame she lost her family, but she pulled herself up by the bootstraps and went on. I look forward to more books on Janice. Thank you Paul L. Thompson for a really great read.
