Pretty Daring
If you ask me, foolishness is like beauty - all about the eye of the beholder.
For instance - I’ve been told the amount of caffeine I consume on a daily basis will eventually kill me, which makes no sense, because that caffeine is essential to living. Then I have doctors telling me that I need to get more sleep if I want to live a happy, healthy life. I can easily refute those claims, because my life is neither happy nor healthy if I don’t utilize every possible second of each day to ensure my life’s goals are met.
Now I’ve got people claiming that hooking up with the sexy bodyguard I hired after someone tried to kill me in broad daylight is a mistake. And, okay, they might be right about that one. Even I can’t argue that it’s not healthy to sleep with someone you can barely stand to be around outside the bedroom.
But you know what? Life is already short enough. If there’s a chance I might die young, then I’m going to go out with a bang - preferably the kind that comes with an orgasm or twelve.

I’ll admit, New York is a challenge when it comes to my personality. People get more offended by kind gestures than they do if you were to spit in their face. It makes no sense. But I enjoy torturing them with my niceness all the same.
Yeah, well, what about that time you made me wait two hours after a Jason Mraz concert so you could get a picture with him, and then I had to force you to do it because the second he tried to talk to you, you turned into a bitch and told him his moles creeped you out.
I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but he looked even angrier than he had minutes ago. I half expected his clothes to tear at the seams and his skin to start turning green.
My Review:
I am thoroughly enjoying this giggle-snort and smirk-worthy series. The storylines of each were brimming with sassy and feisty characters that bicker and banter like it was an Olympic sport and they were hopeful medal contenders. The main character of Paige was a deeply flawed over-the-top drama queen as well as a hot mess; yet she had a soft heart, clever wit, and compelling history. Sebastian’s storyline was more poignant for family loyalty and social awkwardness, although his relatives provided considerable levity as well. Penned in my favorite dual POV, the premise was interesting while the writing was entertaining, engaging and well balanced. I’m hoping the third in the series is dished up soon as I am more than eager to spend more time with this lively group.

This is the second book in the series and I liked it even better than the first one. Jenn Hype knows how to write believable characters that you want to hang out with. The girl-relationships are great. I want to be a part of their group. They are the kind of girlfriends that you have over for book club and somehow end up in a bar, dancing on tables and singing karaoke by the end of the night. But, hey, to be fair, we would totally change the words to be book club appropriate:
In this story, we have Paige - a senator's daughter that a gang is trying to kill, and Sebastian - her reluctant bodyguard. Now, I admit that them falling in love is absolutely no surprise. Every movie I've seen and book I've read with a bodyguard proves that they always fall in love with those they protect. It must be part of the bodyguard job description that they are willing to be the one true love of whoever they are guarding. Sure, that could get awkward sometimes...
He needs two because they are like those "fun-sized" candy bars they give out on Halloween. One isn't enough.
The thing is, Sebastian really hates Paige's father, the senator, and he starts out with a lot of resentment towards her. But, Paige hates her father too, so they have something in common already! What a great starting point to build a relationship.
The book is cute, funny, and yet definitely not a simple rom-com. There are issues, and feelings, and some sad stuff. I was able to completely ignore those easily enough and just enjoy the snarky and smutty. It's a gift.

So. Much. Dialogue. Lines upon lines of exclamation-marked sentences from a bunch of crazy people.
And gosh, so much cheese. Seriously, like this stuff wouldn’t even make it on a Hallmark card.
There was just so much happening all at once, and so many weird unrealistic scenarios squished in together.
It was like a sensory overload, with Blake’s crazy ranting and Paige’s random mood drops and Claire’s battles with Liam. A whole lot of crazy I tell you!
But yeah it was okay. I read it. I don’t regret it.

Snappy dialogue and a fast moving plot made this one of my favourite reads of the year!
I’ve been in a bit of a book slump, picking up and putting down a half dozen stories before I started Paige and Sebastian’s story. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down!
Paige was in a jam and Bass was reluctantly there to protect her. There was animosity from him and huge resentment from her, making their conversations, all their interactions, snarky and unexpectedly funny. Paige’s inner monologues were completely over the top and a delight to read as she went from one caffeine crisis to the next. Her situation was serious but her humour shone through as she dealt with upheaval and people, neither of which her fragile self-esteem wanted to deal with. Despite here uncertainty, she battled each hit head on whether it was an overbearing bodyguard, her family or the danger she found herself thrust in.
Bass was understandably bitter even if his anger was misplaced. I ached for what his family was going through and could sympathize and give him a little leeway. A little bit, anyway, and that was all he needed as he came to grudgingly respect and like Paige. As the sparks continued to fly he was soon going to find Paige was much, much more than he thought…
Together with friends and family this was a laugh out loud romance with plenty of emotion and drama that had me happily lost in their story. I didn’t want it to end but I’m happy to see this stand-alone is the second in the series. I can’t wait to catch up!

3.5 stars. This book definitely had me laughing out loud, but there were too many things that just felt wrong to me.
For ex. The h uses her trust fund to save the H nephews life, and she asked that it be kept anonymous. However, quickly people discover that it was her, and from that point on it seemed like she used the fact that she was now without money as a pity party. She would mention things such as: I'll have to sale my apartment, or I guess I could find a job, I mean people do it all the time. Then she tells her best friend, one that she wants to start a business with, right in front of the H that she's sorry but she can't use her money now for the business since she used it on the H nephew and to please not be mad. Although, it was made a point several times in the book that the best friend did not want her to use that money.
Several things like that just lowered the rating for me.....

Warning - may cause bouts of laughter closely followed by gasps of disbelief - 😂 My abs are killing me!!
I absolutely loved Sebastian and Page's story - It was a wonderful mix of real-world emotions blended with just the right amount of romantic fiction magic 💖 to make the perfect read - fun and entertaining -no question about it
This was my first in this series - can definitely be read as a stand-alone though this is part of a series - The cast was so vivid and made you feel a part of the scene - they just popped off the pages. I definitely want to know more about each and every one and am looking forward to their stories - The storyline flowed seamlessly bringing me in and easily captivating me right from the opening line -
You know when you raise your eyebrows or shrug your shoulders in response to something a character says or does? Yes like that - this whole story was like that for me - so easy to get lost in the pages and become a part of their journey

Paige was the perfect match for Sebastian. Reading her antics and watching her get under his skin was a joy. Apart they were a little bit of a mess. He was grumpy and a little bit antisocial. He hated Paige's father and so it trickled down to her. He was really a jerk to her in the beginning. But when you see him with his family you know he is a great person. Paige has her set of issues. She is also a little antisocial. Her only friend is part of huge circle of family and friends. Paige has spent her entire relationship Clara avoiding her family. Due to her family, she does not feel worthy of love. So when they all jump on team Paige she is a little overwhelmed. The story is fun and has witty dialogue that will make you laugh and sometimes make you a little teary. This is book two but a standalone. I am looking forward to reading the next in this series.

Pretty Daring is the second book in the Jaded series and is entirely stand-alone. The characters book one are present in this novel but you wouldn't realize there was a book before it by the way it was written. It is filled with witty sarcasm, drama, and sexual tension that will leave you laughing and sexually frustrated. I absolutely loved this book. This series is awesome and I can't wait to read book #3 Stupid Smart.

Pretty Daring (Jaded Series Book 2) By: Jenn HypeCrazy, Witty, & LOL!! Jenn Hype Writes Another Absolute Masterpiece!
This is a seriously witty & Laugh out Loud funny book; Yet, in Some Places it's Gonna make you Cry big Ugly Tears... I'll admit to almost in wetting my pants laughing so hard & also needing my Kleenex TOO!!
I loved the heroine, which is written in such a realistic way; she draws her hero right to her from the very beginning- Even Against HIS Will; it's great writing where you really feel the characters Emotions. I don't like spoilers so that's all I'm giving, except to say you won't regret reading "Pretty Daring."
I truly hope Jenn Hype continues to write stories for the rest of the war heroes mentioned inside this book (& the other supporting characters), because they need stories too... this Second Installment, "Pretty Daring," was LONG AWAITED, Even though it can be Read as a StandAlone!! Jenn's definitely got a True gift for story telling.
I definitely recommend "Pretty Daring" as one of the BEST Books I've read in awhile, & I'll be looking forward to more books from Jenn Hype in the future, especially concerning these characters.
"Pretty Daring" is a Solid 5 STAR Read, & I rarely give out that Coveted rating on reviews; instead, I save them for those books that truly Outshine, Outclass, & Outperform the competition... But, Jenn Hype has won that honor with "Pretty Daring;" she hits the Mark with her Stellar work!! Kudos Ms. Hype for Besting the Competition Again!!

Any woman with working lady parts wouldn’t be able to resist taking a second to admire some glorious man candy in the flesh.
Paige is a senator’s daughter and her life is in danger thanks to her fathers. When she is shot, her father hires a security company to protect her. Sebastian does not want this job, he doesn’t want to have to babysit the daughter of the senator who destroyed his family’s jobs.
Sebastian is a private man, he keeps to himself and is there for his family no matter what so it comes as a surprise to his friend and co-workers when he lets Paige live with him and is willing to provide her 24/7 protection. Paige didn’t want to be hidden, she didn’t want to live with Sebastian and be under anyone’s watchful eye. But things change.
My fingers itched to reach out and touch it. Rub my cheek against it. Would it be rough and scratchy? Maybe it would leave beard burn on my thighs after I straddled his face and…well that escalated quickly….
I loved the banter between Sebastian and Paige. The sexual tension between them was off the charts and I loved every single minute. Pretty Daring will have you laughing, it will have you swooning over Sebastian and will have you crying. Not only were the main characters fantastic, but also the secondary characters. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.

There wasn't anything about Pretty Daring that I didn't absolutely love! I mean there were times that I wanted to choke Bass out, but you know, it's pretty realistic to want to choke a man from time to time so yeah, great story! See, there's Paige, and she's a hot mess in the very best way in my opinion. She's a Senator's daughter, though her family isn't really a nice one, nor have they ever shown her any love, so it's really quite miraculous that she's as amazing as she is. She's Clara's best friend, and Clara's brother has his own security company, so when Paige has some baddie's after her because of her father, Clara gets her brother involved, and that's when Bass comes to Paige's rescue, or nightmare or whatever. See, Bass hates Paige's father, so that hate kind of rolls down to Paige, and you kind of get the picture, or if you don't, Bass, who is already antisocial, is a giant douche to Paige. Now, Bass ends up with Paige staying at his house, and that's when the story takes a turn for the hysterically funny, not to mention all kinds of sparks flying! Yep, you heard me right, sparks flying. Oh, and there's all kinds of twists to allow for f-bombs to drop as well, not to mention a big dose of angst for all kinds of feels! So you see, this story ticks off all my boxes for an amazing read, by an amazing author, that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Pretty Daring was my first book by author Jenn Hype. It was a fairly quick and easy read, not quite an insta-love, more an- ‘I hate you, but really I love you’ kinda story.
Sebastian has been hired to protect a wealthy Senator’s daughter who has received death threats. He starts off with a pretty biased opinion of Paige due to something that involved her father and his family. He was an anti-social a**ho!e at the best of times and did little to make Paige feel comfortable. But when someone actually attempts to harm her, he goes all alpha protective.
Paige, is sweet and kind, but also has so hang ups when it comes to trust and love thanks to her parents, neither of whom would win parent of the year. She doesn’t know why she feels drawn to Sebastian and his grumpy soul but she is nonetheless.
Bass, as his family call him, hides a deep, tortured soul but he gives his all for his loved ones. And when even that is threatened he doesn’t know where to turn.
Each find a kindred spirit hidden behind their facade of not caring. But, what will happen when they have to face the truth and admit how they truly feel for each other?
Will the run and hide, or take the bull by the horns and be Pretty Daring.

There is witty repartee between most of the characters which lightens overall dark circumstance they are thrust into. I give Pretty Daring 5-stars and can’t wait to read book #3 Stupid Smart.

I really liked Pretty daring by Jenn Hype it would be the first story that I've read by her and I so want to read more especially the Jaded series . Thought the characters were really likable the banter between them all just had me dying with laughter plus the chemistry between the couple was off the charts hot . Everything about the story drew me in there was some emotion put in there that really tore at my heart strings add in the fact that the heroine did a selfless act . Can't wait to see what's to come in this series and other books by the author .

Jenn Hype has brought us another snort inducing, grin worthy, fun read filled with feisty characters who just love to banter and bicker with one another, an all round entertaining read that’s left me wanting more.
This book, although part of a series can be read as a stand-alone, it’s main protagonists are Paige, the hot mess, over-the-top drama queen with a soft heart and Sebastian who’s a stubborn, loyal teddy bear of a man with a touch of alpha-ness about him. Without giving anything away I guess you could say there’s a history of some sorts between the pair, put them together and it’s a recipe for disaster, it was fun to watch the shenanigans going on and at the end of the day when all’s said and done they really are perfect for one another.
I really can’t wait to see what’s next.

A fast, fun read
The second book in the Jaded series, this was my first book by this author and I had no trouble reading it as a standalone. Though Blake was pretty freaking hilarious even as a supporting character, so I can’t wait to go back and read book 1. 😀
Full of laughs, I thought the author did a great job of balancing out the humor with a bit of angst and suspense. I really felt for Paige at how alienated she was from her parents, and the situation with Sebastian’s nephew was heartbreaking. The setup lent itself nicely to building up the chemistry between the two main characters while also keeping the plot moving.
As for great secondary characters, I’ve already mentioned Blake, but there are also several others, including Brady, Sebastian’s brother, as well Clara and Liam, who have sparks aplenty between them, and whose story I’m looking forward to reading.
A fast, fun read that was hilariously funny, but also sweet, touching and a little steamy. 4 to 4.5 stars

Hype has a way of taking me from laughter to tears and back to laughter in the space of heartbeats. It's a gift and she definitely did it in this book. I flove this author. It doesn't matter what genre she writes. Her sense of humor shines through. I can see the talent and growth in her writing in each book. I imagine her heroines all carry at least a little piece of herself and can only wonder what she'd be like as a gal pal on Friday nights being that I'd love to hang with Blake, Paige, Clara, Michelle, and Josi. I don't think I'm the only one that would like to be a fly on the wall when these ladies get together. Not sure I would survive the laughing fits. Or the hotness... OMG the hotness. Bassyboo. Sigh. I'm not usually an insta type of girl on anything, but Hype makes me think I could be for one of her heroes. Bass just melts my heart in all his forms. Protector, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend. Did I say sigh yet?

I am still laughing at this book. Pretty Daring is book 2 in the Jaded Series by Jenn Hype but is a complete standalone. I didn't even know there was a book 1 just reading it as is.
Pretty Daring stars Paige and Sebastian. Paige is the senator's daughter and after some threats that he didn't take seriously, she is in danger. Enter Sebastian. He works for Jade Securities and is in charge of her well being. They hate each other. Like all they do is fight, but that is part of what makes it hilarious. Their banter and insults that get thrown back and forth. The instant attraction between the two of them they fight so hard to ignore.
There are some very serious moments as well that gives you all the feels. I felt like crying at times. This book will put you through the roller coster of feelings but in the end you will have a huge smile and belly aches from the laughter. I highly recommend and cannot wait to read book 1 and any others that may come my way.

Paige, a senators daughter is being sought out by a gang that is trying to kill her. Now Sebastian who is not a fan of the senator must keep his daughter safe and not let his disapproval over her father get in the way. There is so much sexual tension going on in this book that it causes this build up leading to them finally connecting. Not only is there sexual tension but also a level of frustration between the two that cause the best of sarcasting comments and jabs.
I am very pleased overall with the story and definitely believe that book three, Stupid Smart, will be equally as wonderful.

Good humour and snarky banter, but lacking in other areas … 3.5 stars
This is a decent romance with dry, subtle humour and snarky banter – both of which I greatly appreciated, but neither of which made me laugh out loud. I enjoyed the characters, but found their situations to be somewhat clichéd. The plot was pretty predictable and the story was at times overly long in my opinion. For me, there was too much internal dialogue and self-deliberating. I essentially skipped through most of that to the actual interactions between the characters. I love romantic comedy, but for me, this story fell short in so many ways.

I loved every second of Pretty Daring. I love Paige and her need to be her own person. Paige is just trying to be her own person, not the girl who has a shadow. When an unfortunate turn of events cause Paige to need protection Bass get assigned to the case. Bass has a past. One that hurts your heart. Bass is looking for revenge, but he never thought protecting the person that's father hurt his family would be on his radar.
I loved this book from start to finish. I loved the witty banter between these two. The sexual tension with these characters is off the charts. I loved watching them fall. I loved watching their fight. I just loved them.

Romance, action, comedy, hot guys, and some steamy scenes? This series has it all!
I absolutely love the Jaded series. As the headline says, these books have it all.
I love how Jenn weaves together the perfect amount of romance, comedy, and action.
It is easy to get bored with the same romance story lines book to book. This may be predominantly a romance, but Jenn creates the most amusing characters that you can't help but fall in love with them.
If you haven't read the first book in the series "Simply Crazy" I would definitely suggest picking it up first so you have the chance to encounter all the characters that have supporting roles in this book.
If you have a penchant for romance, do yourself a favor and pick up this series!

What a Freaking Fabulous Book! I want to be friends with these people!! This book had my full attention from the first word to The End and it's one of those books that you can count on settling in and getting comfy til it's finished. It's snark and wit had me laughing out loud alot, you not only fall in love with the main characters but the secondary ones as well. The book is so well written that you don't realize it's part of a series, it's a complete stand alone with drama, action, suspense, and off the charts chemistry. No cheating or cliff hangers! Pretty Daring is not your typical Senators daughter needs a body guard and they fall in love story...
Jenn Hype might just have become my go to author for Rom-Com! Can't wait to read Clara and Liam's story...

Laughing so much while reading this book
I enjoyed reading this book so very much. I laugh out loud so many times. It is such a fun read. Friendship and family ties are some things that I loved reading this story. It is so intense and a bit of steamy.
Life is useless when your some of your family members do not care for your safety. This book is emotional, heart-warming and goose bumps all over my arms. You will admire how Sebastian protectiveness. Love will do that to you despite the job being done.
I forgot how I enjoyed reading romantic comedy. If you want to be tickle, loved and mesmerized this book is a must read.
