Return to New York Times Bestseller Sandra Hill’s Cajun country, where the Louisiana bayou is steamier than ever . . .
Alaskan pilot Aaron LeDeux came to Louisiana with his brother to discover his Cajun roots. But any hopes he had of returning home are extinguished when he agrees to help a crew of street monks and nuns rescue sex-trafficked girls. For the work has become his new calling. Plus, he’s in love with a gorgeous almost-nun named Fleur . . .
With her harrowing past, Fleur Gaudet only feels safe at the nunnery. But when she’s ordered out into the real world to decide where she truly belongs, Fleur goes to live with the notorious Tante Lulu, matriarch of the LeDeux clan. Suddenly, she’s leading a regular life, thinking irregular thoughts about Aaron. With his whiskey-colored eyes and fierce bravery, Aaron is like her own personal Cajun cowboy, re-introducing her to . . . everything.
As the dangerous missions bring them closer, Fleur must decide if her heart is truly on the path she’s been following, or if she’ll have a new future with the man of her heart.

I have to say I really enjoy these Cajun stories, the family and insanity are just great. Throw in a touch of seriousness and usually a great romance and you always have the basis for a good story.
Aaron and Fleur were a great couple and for once everybody did not fall into bed by chapter 2, plus a serious backstory made for a great book.
None of these stories would be as good without a large dose of Tante Lulu and she pretty much runs everything and is hilarious.
The romance was good, the back story was good, the serious parts were good but I wonder who/where we go from here, can't wait to find out. Still hard to believe I came into this series directly from a series about Vampire Viking Angels :)
It appears that this may be the last Cajun Series book. Pardon me, but I need a moment to morn the end of one of my very favorite Romance Series. . . Okay, this last book has all the elements that I have come to absolutely love about this series - romance, hot heroes, feisty heroines, laugh out loud humor, a wonderful family, a touch of mystery/suspense and, above all, the Louisiana Bayou. You can't miss when a book has all that, Barry Manalow and more.
For over a year pilot Aaron LeDuex has been disappearing at night on a regular basis. His family figured he was out and about chasing the ladies. After their mother's death twins Aaron and Daniel have relocated from Alaska to Houma, Louisiana to get to know her family and discover their Cajun roots. They bought a broken down Antebellum mansion. Daniel rediscovered his love of medicine and Aaron took a job as a helicopter pilot. What Aaron does on his secret missions is about as far from chasing the ladies as anything can be. He has been helping a a group of street monks and nuns rescue sex-trafficked girls and falling in love with a novice nun named Fleur Gaudet.
Fleur's past has made her believe that the only safe place for her is the convent. Her mission to rescue other sex-trafficked girls is the most important thing in her life. She did not need a tall, dark and handsome Cajun cowboy whose relentless pursuit of her has her thinking and wanting things she had already determined were never going to happen for her. When the Mother Superior tells her to take some time to rethink her vocation, she does. Enter Tante Lulu and St. Jude and that old Thunderbolt of Love.
This story had an exciting beginning, ending, a good plot and Aunt Lulu is always entertaining. I like when the male pursues the female but this book had too much repetition of the hero thinking about getting the heroine and her thinking about resisting him. Pilot Aaron gets pulled into rescuing girls kidnapped for sex when he meets Fleur who works with the nuns that set up the extractions.
I love this Cajun series and am glad this installment kept the flame burning. It has danger, romance and laughter. I enjoyed how the self-confident, Aaron had to work hard to break through Fleur’s reluctance. It was sweet and enjoyable. I truly like him and Fleur. Her reluctance was real and never got to the “enough already” stage. It flowed nicely and was fun to read. I love this group of people; their loyalty and humor make me wish I was down there right now. Loved it!

I listened to the audio version and I give 5 stars for Joe Arden's spectacular (and sensual at times) performance!! This is a beautifully written, tongue in cheek, romantic comedy. Lots of fun, silly situations and completely outlandish action mixed in with a bit of drama. It also has steamy romance scenes that are tasteful and well done and lots of family members that star as side characters. The whole story is not to be taken too seriously. Our heroine is a nun in training and our hero is a Cajun pilot. He falls for her over the course of a year working with the nuns rescuing stolen women. 4.5 entertaining stars.
Another great book by Sandra Hill I am so glad that Aaron got his own book and found his true love even though they didn't get along at the beginning as usual her books are great they make me laugh cry happy sad but in the end they always seem to work out can't wait to read more books by Sandra Hill
From the synopsis, I expected heavy and dark topics. Those exist, but they are blended with the levity of the secondary characters Hill creates! Some of the people in the bayou are such fun! The love story is interesting as well since its not really expected!
A sexy pilot, an almost-nun and a pint-sized woman with multiple colored hair (depending on the occasion), driving a purple Cadillac. Get ready to laugh.
Alaskan pilot Aaron LeDeux and his twin brother came to Louisiana after the death of their mother. Moving to Louisiana the brothers discover just how deep their Cajun roots are when they meet Tante Lulu who immediately gives them St. Jude statues and tells them she has hope chests for them. Aaron's family has no idea why he disappears days and weeks at a time. He has been trying to find his purpose when he finds himself helping a crew of street monks and nuns rescue sex-trafficked young girls. During these rescue missions he meets a gorgeous almost-nun that steals his heart.
Fleur Gaudet has a personal and painful past tied to these missions. She feels safest at the nunnery and hoping to take her vows. She has been sent out into the real world so she can decide where she belongs. Imagine her meeting Louise Rivard (Tante Lulu) who happens to be friends with the Mother Superior. This is truly an eye-opening experience for a woman who has lived at a nunnery for the past 10 years. Because of her past Fleur thought her feelings toward men were non-existent until she sees Aaron.
I think I might have liked this one better if it had been a "clean" romance. The heroine's having made the first step to becoming a nun made her off-limits to such overt sexual come-ons as the hero seemed to fall back on. Fall back on? Heck, that seems to be his entire repertoire.
And this is all before he gropes and dry-humps her while she's mostly asleep - which constitutes rape in my book. Then of course, he asks her if she came over to use her body to get him to agree to something.
This knowing she was a victim of child sex trafficking.
There was a point where she was trying to tell him no and he was ignoring her...or guilting her into going along with him.
All of which gets swept under the rug because romance. Yeah I think it's time I dropped this series. Before I get irritated enough to drop the author.
Aaron LeDeux, an Alaskan Pilot who moved to the Bayou with his brother to get to know his LeDeux half brothers, became involved with a group of nuns and priests who are helping victims of human trafficking escape. Fleur Gaudet is an almost nun sent to the Bayou to find out what it is like to live a normal life - she was a victim of the sex trade and then a not quite nun for ten years. Her Mother Superior sent her away to discern if she really has a religious calling. There is a spark between the two - Aaron and Fluer. This story is told with humor and wit. How could it not with Tante Lulu and St. Jude helping the romance along.
I had been waiting for this book and it really delivered. Tante Lulu was bigger than life as always. The story deals with children as young as eleven being kidnapped and forced into the sex slavery business. Aaron and Fleur along with some unusual nuns and two Catholic priests work to save as many children s possible. Fleur was a victim herself for six years before she was recused. Due to this, she is afraid of getting close to a man. Aaron has to prove to her that all men are not like the men that kidnapped her or the ones that abused her. A very thought provoking, romantic read.
This is Aaron LeDeux's story. We recall Aaron as the twin of Dr. Daniel Ledeux (Cajun Doctor). The side story involving Fleur, a prospective nun who has been rescued from prostitution ten years prior, is a compelling one. In Cajun Doctor Aaron was mysteriously disappearing at night. We learn that Aaron, a pilot, has been flying young women to safety, rescuing them from human trafficking. Fleur has issues as you might expect. Tante Lulu is front and center as usual. This was a good read.
Another great addition to the series. The addition of more characters in every book insures continuations, but always makes sure to revisit with the original cast that we fell in love with. Can't wait for more stories about Cajuns, Vikings and all the others that the author has given us over the years. If you haven't read any of Sandra Hill's book, look them up and start at the beginning, you won't be sorry.
I love this series & am always glad to see a new one in it. This one does bring out a growing issue in our current "social" climate that some folks might not be happy with, but should be more aware of. It will be interesting to see who the next book in the series will be about, also if Tante Lulu's stuff ever really gets written up.
Aaron and hus boots and Fleur are a pair meant to be together. With the help of Barry Manilow, the LeDeux, St. Jude and the leader Tante Lu this is a wonderful story. I always enjoy these books they are fun, wacky abd very heart warming Can't wait for the next book.
After the almost over the top whackiness of the last book, I almost didn't pick this one up. I'm glad I did. This is a refreshing return to normal whackiness. I did enjoy this quite a bit. Very good.
I found this to lack luster and boring. I didn’t care for the way Aaron treated Fleur knowing she was a victim. Idk if it’s the number of books in the series or the book itself but Tante Lulu fell flat. Actually all of it did.
Like all her books in this series each book stands alone but it gives each book extra flavor having the busybodies helping Tante Lulu carry out her matchmaking with her partner St. Jude. I really love the couple and enjoyed there story. Looking for more to come!
started with book 12 in the series and loved the dialogue and humor right away. Now to read the other 11 before oks. Good romantic situation in unlikely circumstances. The family puts the “ fun in dysfunctional “
Wow! A touching love story, Tante Lulu, humor and a serious issue story line all in one book. On top of that we have villains and babies. I don't know how she did it all, but I love this book.
I bought this book as a joke while I was on vacation at a tiny little thrift store because of the title. Ended up reading the entire book during said vacation and it was pretty entertaining!
