ABOUT THE These sweet and wholesome small town love stories with the community church at their center make for the perfect feel-good reads! ABOUT THE Melissa Storm is a mother first, and everything else second. Writing is her way of showing her daughter just how beautiful life can be, when you pay attention to the everyday wonders that surround us. So, of course, her USA Today bestselling fiction is highly personal and often based on true stories.
Melissa loves books so much, she married fellow author Falcon Storm. When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, she spends time relaxing at home in the company of her six dogs, cockatiel, and a rescue cat named Schrödinger. She never misses an episode of The Bachelor, because priorities.
Melissa Storm is a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author of Women’s Fiction, Inspirational Romance, and Cozy Mysteries.
Despite an intense, lifelong desire to tell stories for a living, Melissa was “too pragmatic” to choose English as a major in college. Instead, she obtained her master’s degree in Sociology & Survey Methodology—then went straight back to slinging words a year after graduation anyway.
She loves books so much, in fact, that she married fellow author Falcon Storm. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run a number of book-related businesses together, including LitRing, Sweet Promise Press, Novel Publicity, Your Author Engine, and the Author Site.
When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, Melissa spends time relaxing at her home in the Michigan woods, where she is kept company by a seemingly unending quantity of dogs and two very demanding Maine Coon rescues. She also writes under the names of Molly Fitz and Mila Riggs.
I cried. Seriously I needed a couple tissues. A sweet clean romance that will literally sweep you off your feet. And will have you believing all over again.

The skies are always brighter and she gets butterflies in her stomach whenever he is around. But how can she feel that way, about her best friend's widowed husband. She would never betray her friend even though she is gone to a better place.
I really enjoyed this book in The First Street Church Romances series. Once you start reading it, you don't want to stop. Really loved Molly Sue and how well she related to her dying mother and her grieving father. A little child shall lead us... Very sweet romance but also bittersweet since Rebecca, the mother, has to die. Love the way she handled explaining things to her daughter. It was all very sweet and a wonderful story of love during and after death.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Melissa Storm is a literary treasure. She is an author that makes it okay to show emotion. Love's Prophet is heartbreaking. Yet mixed within the tears of sorrow is the hope of an enlightening tomorrow. Rebecca, Molly, Liam and Jennifer are pieces of an intricate puzzle that cohesively blended to create one voice that speaks from the heart.
Love's Prophet by Melissa Storm is a wonderfully written story about Rebecca, Liam, Jennifer and Molly Sue. Molly Sue is given a job by her dying mother, Rebecca. Rebecca wants Molly Sue to be her daddy's sngel. Rebecca knows that Liam is having a hard time dealing with the fact that she won't be around much longer. She's afraid that when she does pass that he will immerse himself in his job and forget to continue to live and eventually move on with his life and be happy again. Rebecca writes a series a letters to give to Molly Sue with instructions of the task/job that she is needing her to do. She is to be her daddy's angel, to help him go on with life, to live again. Jennifer is one of Rebecca's best friends. Jennifer reaches out to Liam after seeing him at the diners grand opening; they haven't seen each other since Rebecca's death. Jennifer encourages him to come to church and get reacquainted with the residents of Sweet Grove. He and Molly Sue go to church and that's all I'm going to tell you. Melissa Storm's stories are sweet and heartfelt. She pulls you in from the first word, to the last and then some. Her way of writing makes you connect with the characters as if your personally know them. I feel like I live in Sweet Grove and all the characters are my friends. I can't wait to read the next book, Love's Vow. Melissa gives a sneak peek of how the story enfolds and I'm eagerly awaiting its release. I received an ARc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Melissa for allowing me to be on your team. Most of all, thank you for your friendship. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be friends with an author. :) I'll leave you with this ... go buy the book, you won't be sorry.
Author Melissa Storm knows how to get your attention and emotions in every book I’ve read. This was one great! It had me laughing and a few times in tears. It’s also always refreshing to read a Christian book and not have all the the bad language and so much sex. This book truly shows Melissa Storm at her best.
The story is about a family suffering after Liam James loses his wife to cancer at a very young age. With a seven year old daughter, Molly Sue, he has to continue working but doesn’t necessarily want to do a smile. He’s sheltered himself from the public and a real life. Other than his daughter he didn’t have much to look forward to. Then he attends a grand-re-opening of a store and sees his wife’s best friend, Jennifer. Sparks fly, but both are a little unsure how to handle it but Molly Sue knows just want to do. Molly Sue plays matchmaker, being Liam’s angel, as her mother told her to do before she died. That’s all I’m going to say because I really want you to read the book. Just make sure you have a book of tissues, you may just need them. I also look forward to more in the First Street Church series
Love's Prophet by Melissa Storm is the 3rd book in the First Street Church Romances Series.
Liam hasn't shown his face in the town of Sweet Grove since his wife's funeral a year ago. A chance meeting with Jennifer, one of his wife's best friends, at the local diner during a celebration has him feeling things he thinks he shouldn't be. Jennifer feels the same way. But life, fate, God, or Liam's young daughter have other plans.
I love the clean romance in this series. It's refreshing. Seeing the world through Molly Sue's point of view was cute and seeing how well she handles the burden of her mother's death and the task that was given to her reminds me of how strong and innocent children really are.
Watching Liam and Jennifer struggle with the shared loss of both wife and best friend and the feelings that were developing between each other made me sad at times. In a strange way it was also uplifting and inspiring as you watch them overcome the limits they set on themselves and trust in God's plan.
If you are looking for a hot steamy romance, this is not the book for you, however if you are looking for a slow sweet build up, you have found the right book.
Sometimes a book is so easy to get into… so easy to get lost in, that it holds my imagination and plays out in my mind like a movie.
I didn’t want to put this book down once I started reading. But I had to because life goes on, even when I want to hide in my room and tell everyone to leave me alone!! Well, never mind. My imagination took off with these characters and even when the book wasn’t in my hand, I pondered about them and daydreamed a little… I love it when a book does that for me.
I fell in love with the characters that Melissa Storm created. I loved watching Liam and Jennifer fall in love with each other… And Molly Sue-- there is nothing more potent or powerful than a child whose faith is as wide and bright as hers. Between Molly Sue and God, (they had a plan) Liam and Jennifer didn’t stand a chance!
I was honored to receive and advanced reader copy of this book, and I voluntarily gave this review.
This is the first books of “The First Street Church” Romances series that I have read and I was totally overwhelmed with emotions while reading this book. It is full of heartbreak, love, hope, grieving, struggles, patience and faith. Even though its part of a series it is a stand alone book that will melt your heart and make you feel things for these wonderful characters. I received a free copy of the book and have voluntarily written an honest review. Could his little girl be the messenger of God's love? This is what Melissa Storm wrote at the start of her blurb and it’s the message through this book. I would recommend this great sweet love story about a family in need of some extra love and support in life. Will Molly-Sue be able to bring new love into her father's life or will she fail on her promise to her dying mother’s wish? You can read my full review at www.readingfortheloveofbooks.com
Wow! What a tour de force! The first word that comes to mind with this story is EARNEST. Molly Sue is earnest; her father Liam is earnest; Jennifer is earnest. All are endeavoring mightily but swimming upstream. And then Molly Sue, reminding me forcibly of Shirley Temple in full, diminutive, take-charge mode, decides the time has come. Emotions are strong, God's help is sought on every side, there are tears but much laughter, and oh so much friendship.
Between the time the first two books in this series were written and this one came out, this small world of Sweet Grove, Texas, has become an enormous Kindle World with dozens of authors writing stories set in the tiny town. Most of the characters from the earlier tales make their appearance here, too, but their relevant backstories are are woven meticulously into the texture of this book so that it stands alone beautifully and serves as a wonderful introduction to this "Cheers" of home towns.
Love's Prophet is another great story in the First Street Church Romances series. If you like well-written sweet romances with all the feels and delightful characters, then you need to read this book and the entire series.
Liam and Jennifer make a sweet couple struggling with their feelings for each other. Unlike so many stories, their struggles are valid. Molly Sue is precious and wise beyond her years. In spite of Liam, she is happy and well-adjusted. Too often, parents, in their grief, forget their kid(s) are grieving too. Liam did but Molly Sue seemed to thrive anyway. I attribute that to the 'job' her mother gave her.
I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the lives of everyone we know in Sweet Grove. It is always a treat to catch up with old friends.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. It sounds like Ben and Summer's wedding will be an exciting adventure.
I ended up DNFing this book around 75% so I won't be giving it a rating. I think this book could really work for other people but it just didn't work for me. I was fairly bored throughout the book and I wasn't invested in the romance. I also thought the mother making her kid a matchmaker for the dad before she died was a bit icky and I would have preferred not having that element. This book is also very heavy on religious themes. It is an inspirational romance but I have read some that are lighter and some that are heavier on the religious themes and this one is definitely on the heavier side. So, if you are coming to this more for the clean romance than the inspirational bit it may not totally be for you. I think this book will work really well for a lot of people and especially very religious people but it wasn't for me.
I love Sweet Grove and getting to visit it three times is amazing. I love to catch up with the people and places !! This is the third book in the series and it can be read as a stand alone! This is such a sweet story and I love Jennifer and " her refusal to let life's hardships get her down". This character wound up teaching me a few lessons on patience, Gods Timing and unconditional love! Molly Sue was pure joy to read , it was a pleasure to read both her joy and her pain! Liam's struggle with the past and the present was beautifully written and again he taught me lessons. This was another great read by Melissa Storm , her characters are written with so much emotion and depth and I can not wait for a return visit!
This is the third book in the First Street Church books. I have read all three and I can honestly say that this was my favorite so far. It follows the lives of Liam and his daughter Molly Sue after the tragic death of his wife, Rebecca, from cancer. Jennifer is the Sunday School teacher who reconnects with them both about a year after Rebecca's death. Molly Sue had become her daddy's Angel at her mother's request so he won't be sad anymore. It is a sweet tale of believing that God has a plan for us all and that we need to have Faith. Molly Sue plays matchmaker for her dad and Jennifer remembering what her mother had written to her in letters before her death. You made need tissues when her letters are read. But they will be happy tears.
This book, like all of Melissa Storm's books was awesome! I did not want to put it down. Such a loving family story that we all can relate to. A dying mother's wish for her family is that her husband fall in love again and that their little daughter have a new loving mom. Rebecca leaves letters for her daughter and wants her to be an angel for her daddy. Liam is conflicted with his love for Rebecca and his thoughts of moving on with a new life. He doesn't want to feel like he is cheating on Rebecca but knows he can love again and move on in his life. Molly Sue, his daughter, is instrumental in getting Liam and Jennifer together. If you believe in God and have faith, things can work out. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommend this book!!
I love the First Street Church books! Melissa Storm brings us back to our friends in Sweet Grove, TX and the First Street Church family! I love coming back home! Love’s Prophet gives us a taste of coming back home and forgiveness. Death for one spouse doesn’t mean death for both...especially when you have a daughter who is your ‘angel.’ We see how someone can know you so well that they will know what you will do when they pass away and they use an ‘angel’ to help you through. Melissa Storm’s First Street Church series is uplifting and honest. I always feel like I have gone through the journey with the characters and see a little bit of me in at least one of them. I am usually disappointed when the books are done and look forward to the next one. And so will you.
Faith and love, this is all about in this wonderful book. Second chances and the possibility to be happy again after losing the love of your life. Liam wife's Rebecca died from cancer a year ago and he is been hiding from the world in his work and in taking care of her daughter Molly Sue. But Molly Sue has a job to do, she is his father's angel and she has to make sure that his daddy will be happy again and will find love again. One Sunday, they finally go to church and they meet Jennifer, the Sunday school teacher, and while talking to her, Liam smile again. This is the sign to the plan that God has set for them, but can Liam and Jennifer see it and have their happily ever after? A very sweet and touching story. You will love it
Love's Prophet by Melissa Storm is a fabulous addition to the First Street Church Romances. Without a doubt, it is Molly Sue who stole my heart in this story of a grieving parent who needs a push to move on in life, if not for his sake then for his daughter’s. Molly Sue may be young but she seems to possess an old soul. She tries her best to keep her promises. Jennifer is a positive spirit who was easy to love. Whole Liam still had a lot of grief to work though he too found a way into my heart.
Big ideas on acceptance of what is, patience for what can be and looking to God to show the way were portrayed in the lives of these characters. An inspiring read with lessons for us all.
4.5 Stars The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.
I started reading Love's Prophet on a Wednesday morning while I waited for my turn to get my truck unloaded. Sometimes it's too easy to just read and get nothing else done. Somehow I managed to get other things done and didn't finish it in one day. No such luck day two. I couldn't wait for load or unload opportunities to grab my kindle again. Then my driving day ended and couldn't stop until I was done. Thank God for privacy curtains for the times I couldn't stop the tears, and just being free to laugh out loud when I needed to. Loved the characters and the story. I am looking forward to reading more about Sweet Grove and First Street Church. Just a realistic feel to it. Thank you.

This story is about two people finding their way with God’s help. Liam lost his wife to cancer and now needs to find his way back from the sadness of losing her. Jennifer has been dealt a bad hand in life but remains positive that God has a plan for her and just needs to be patient. Molly Sue, Liam daughter has a plan of her own. This plan is something that her mom, Rebecca has asked her to do. Molly Sue is going to be her father’s angel and help him find happiness again. Can Molly Sue help her dad? This was a wonderful story about Liam and Jennifer finding their way to love and happiness. Great to read when you need something to lift you up and make you feel better.
Jennifer is an eternal optimist despite financial difficulties, job downsizing, and ongoing car problems. Liam has lost his wife to cancer and is raising his daughter Molly alone. He's sad and has lost faith that he will ever be truly happy again. Pint-sized matchmaker Molly is precocious and tenacious in finding ways to bring Jennifer and Liam together. But she has found the one her mother told her about before her death, the one who will make them happy and complete their family again. I wish I had Jennifer's faith that everything will work out. I love the homage to Angi, Melissa's real life assistant.
when Melissa writes a book, she puts her heart and soul into it. She usually adds a piece of her own life in the story line and this one is no different. This series is such a treat to read. you will find yourself laughing at times and other times crying your eyes out,so have lots of kleenex handy.lol to me,this book shows a family love that is so strong that even when one is gone, their love continues with the rest into another family of love, and this keeps that lost member alive in everyone's heart. Age doesn't matter when it comes to real love. disclaimer. I belong to a readers group and received this book for free, but my honest review is left voluntarily.
I got this for free through book cave, and finally decided to read it. That was so sweet! Im gonna warn you, it is sad though. Molly Sue did seem kinda mature for her age, but she had her moments of acting like a seven year old too. It was so cute that she wanted to play matchmaker!! I honestly don't know if a seven year old would actually do that, but it made a great story. I was so glad when they finally got together!! But you can't say that I didn't warn you--this is gonna make you cry. It did have a great, happy ending, which was good. if your looking for a clean, Christian romance, this is for you. CW: Liam Remembers his wife dying of cancer, several kisses, some attraction.
Jennifer Elliot loves teaching preschool, but it doesn’t pay well. Widower Liam James struggles to get over his late wife’s death while raising his daughter Molly Sue. Like other single-parent stories, Molly Sue is the agent that brings Liam and Jennifer together.
One unique thing about this story is how much the departed wife influences Liam to take a chance on love again by leaving letters with her daughter. With all the ingenuity of a pre-adolescent, Molly Sue goes on a campaign to bring Liam and Jennifer together. By including the letters, the author lifts this from a typical “single parent finds love again” plot to a poignant reflection on love in a marriage and family.
What a wonderful story about love and faith! Liam's wife, Rebecca, was dying of cancer and wrote letters to him, their daughter Molly, and his future wife, unbeknownst to him. Molly was the keeper of the letters and knew what they said, she was her mom and dad's angel. Like all angels, Molly had a job to do and boy did she do it well. A lovely read! Mrs. Storm's stories continue to prove that if you really listen, God will lead you down the right path and sometimes those ears need to be cleaned out to be opened.
A story you will find hard to put down and one that will tug on your heart strings big time. Be prepared for a sweet and loving story about a child whose faith and trust in God and her late Mother's wishes was able to bring her Dad back from depression and make her family whole again. A story that involves the development of love between two people as they brought together and their discovery of a life together as a family. Melissa Storm has a way of writing that will suck you completely into her story.
This was a very sweet, well-written book. Rebecca was dying of cancer, and asked her daughter, Molly Sue, to help her grieving father, Liam, find happiness again after Rebecca passes away. Will the sunny, upbeat lady Molly Sue picks to bring the joy back to Liam's life agree to help them all work through their pain? Can Liam overcome his loss and love again? This book can be read as a standalone book, though it is part of a series with related characters. I really enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as others by this author.
Another fantastic book my Melissa Storm. Beautiful story of how love can find anyone even when they are not looking. I enjoyed reading about others who place their lives and decisions into Gods hands. Liam has struggled since the death of his wife and little did he know that his daughter was setting her deceased moms plan into motion to make sure they have a happy ending. Please don't miss reading about all the wonderful people in this small town and how they are all there for each other. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and I can say for sure it's honest.
I really emjoyed reading about Jennifer and Liam's story.Liam's wife and Jennifer's best friend died a year ago. Before she died she wrote her daughter Molly Sue letters to be her Daddy's Angel when she died. She gave her daughter the job of helping her father find a new partner and mommy for her. I loved Molly Sue's innocence, she was funny in how she dressed. I just loved her character so much. It was so great how Rebecca wrote Liam and the new person letters and how Molly Sue knew when to give them to them. A truly inspiring story.
