~ Five brothers, one family tragedy, untold heartache. ~
Blind rage. Cold-hearted violence. These are my mistresses. I’m not the man they believe me to be. I’ve contented myself with surviving. Thriving on the blood of my sport. A mere shell of a man since my twin sister was ripped from my life more than a decade ago with no sign, no trace, no clues, and no closure. Half of my soul was torn from my body in the blink of an eye, leaving me to flail in the wind as I grapple with the brutal aftermath. The only beacon of hope, the only light that has ever shone in my dismal world, has been Eden Montes—my sister’s best friend. The one girl I could never have, but have always wanted. She’s just as fractured as I am, a broken little bird, and yet she wants to fix me. Me. A man one breath away from breaking beyond repair. Can we find our way? Even as my sister’s case finally finds closure? Will it be enough for both of us to find our way out of the darkness? Because the darkness is all I know, it’s where I live. My name is Silas Creed. I am The Silencer.
***Reader note: This is the fifth of a 6-part emotional family saga series. Each story is 100% male first-person point-of-view, and while each full-length novel is guaranteed to have a complete HEA romance, their family mystery remains unsolved until the end of the series. ***Due to profanity, violence, and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

The Family Creed is one of the best series I've read in a while. It's tragic and romantic both at the same time. And each book in the series is better than the previous. I loved all the books in this series. This one is no exception. It's the story of youngest Creed brother. Who has been touched by their family tragedy more than any one else because he didn't only loose his sister but also his best friend and the person who understood him more than even he himself could. But some how he will get through this. Now that they finally have all the answers their family will have closure. Although his heart may not survive this ordeal. Eden is a family friend and she has faced their loss with them. She has suffered in silence, never letting any of then know how much she has been hurting. Maybe this is the time to let the past go and make a better future. But will that be a possibility for her or not is another question entirely. For now she is there for the family, hoping that would be enough. It's a very emotional read and because of the I quite enjoyed reading it.
I have read the entire Creed series and loved each book. Every Creed son had a different story to tell and all books are tied together by the disappearance of their sister Claire over a decade ago. Each story has been beautiful, sexy, funny and heartbreaking. Shauna Allen has given us her all and more in Silas' story. If you haven't read the series you cannot begin here. You have to go to The Executioner and follow the Creed brothers journey because each story may stand alone but they are all interconnected and leading to Claire's story. All five Creed brother's stories are told from first person male POV. Silas was Claire's twin and as any parent of twins know, they share a special bond. When Claire went missing, Silas got very angry and bitter. It is a rightful emotion but it has been slowly destroying his soul. Silas is a MMA fighter and that has been the place where he is able to put his anger into action. He gets sidelined and has to go home for some help. Claire had a best friend that was always with her and Eden is like family to the Creed's but Silas always felt something more for her. Silas had lost his way, needs help and The Silencer is the story of him finding his way back. Eden has her own set of demons and hopefully together they will slay them. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this book is a tearjerker. You will need extra Kleenex but it's so worth it! I know that there is going to be a final novella with Claire's story. I have fallen in love with this girl through her brother's stories and I hope that I can handle it.
When I did my review for the previous book in this series, I suggested grabbing a box of Kleenex before starting it. Forget that. For this book, my reader friend, you’ll need an entire case of them. I thought The Prodigal was an emotional read, but this one is much more so. Silas and Eden are the most broken and damaged by Claire Creed's disappearance. Silas lost half of his soul when his twin sister vanished, and Eden has carried an unbearable load of guilt since losing her best friend.
I suspected that Silas's story would be heartbreaking, but I never could have anticipated the depths of pain and devastation both he and Eden have suffered for ten long years, or how their story would shatter my heart and leave its mark so indelibly on my soul. Yet in the midst of all the pain, sorrow and loss is also healing, joy and hope. Silas says it best when he speaks of the pain and loss his family has suffered and states, “. . . we have still managed to find beauty in our sorrow.”
The Family Creed is an amazing series, but it's so much more than romance. Yes, we have the deep abiding connection between soul mates and the happily ever afters. But it's the unbreakable bond of family through every hardship and challenge that reminds us of what really matters in this world and leaves us better for having taken this journey with these characters that sets this series apart and makes it undeniably special and decidedly unforgettable. Don’t miss out on this poignant, heartfelt, inspiring read!
*I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
There are very few books that leave a lasting impression on me. But this is one of them. The family saga and tragedy has been devastating and triumphant to read. But Silas and Eden have had the most obstacles to overcome. Whether self induced or guilt ridden they just can't come to terms with the past. Lost in the darkness and pain neither one knows how to let go or move on.
Silas has lost a part of himself. When his twin Claire went missing he lost it and has never been able to overcome it. The anger consumes him. But MMA fighting has given him an outlet. And he's the best. A champion. Buy a shell of himself. And now with his career in jeopardy after a horrendous accident Eden may be the only one that can save him.
Eden was Claire's best friend. She was also with her the day of her disappearance. And that she can't forgive herself for. Claire was more than her best friend. She was the sister if her heart and she doesn't know how to go on either. But being around Silas is bringing back all kinds of memories. Being in love with him from the moment she laid eyes on him she knows she never had a chance but when opportunity presents itself she won't back down.
With Silas fighting his feelings for Eden...the ones that have been there from the start, and Eden also not knowing where they go from here all they can do is support each other when the worst news imaginable comes in. Will they be able to overcome the past and have a future together or will they get lost in the darkness and pain forever??
I straight up ugly cried during this book. I have teared up in other books, but I full on bawled in this. I received The Family Creed series for free to give an honest review and y'all it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. This series is emotional about 5 brothers that had their baby sister go missing 10 years ago and how it has effected each of them. We are finally to The Silencer, Silas, who was Claire's twin and felt her loss so profoundly as if his soul was missing with her absense.
I will let you know that you will get a lot of answers and there are some absolutely devastating moments in this book, but it is 100% worth it.
Silas has been walking around as an angry empty shell since Claire disappeared. When he gets into an accident and needs to be ready for a fight he enlists Eden to help him. Eden was Claire's best friend and grew up with them and he has been holding a huge torch for her but never felt that it was right. Maybe the timing is right now? But what Silas does not know is that Eden has her own demons. Will he be able to comfort her when he feels as if his life is falling apart?
10 freaking stars for this book and series. I am in awe of the world that Shauna Allen created with these brothers and this series. Reading them one by one and finding out missing pieces of the puzzle through their POV was absolutely amazing!
I will say this over and over again - Shauna Allen can write!!! I knew this one would be the biggest emotional roller coaster of all. The Silencer is Silas' story. Being Claire's twin, he seemed to suffer the most throughout the series. He felt and knew things through his twin connection the others never did. His story grabs your heart from page one and never lets go. The Creed's are not the only ones who have suffered the disappearance of their sister/daughter Claire, but now we learn all Claire's best friend Eden has been through. She has lived the years with lots of guilt. Silas deals with his pain as a MMA fighter putting all his anger into the ring, but when a accident sidelines him he turns to Eden, a trainer to help him with his recovery. As kids everyone knew they had a crush on each other, but as adults living with guilt and pain can they help the other to live and open their hearts again? Grab your Kleenex for this one. Now I must get my heart and more Kleenex ready for Claire's book and all she has to tell. The Family Creed is a must read, but you should read the series in order for the full story of this beautiful, loving family and their pain for the last 10 years.
Here we are again brought into The Creed family no matter what happens they always pull together to bring each other through it. This is SIla's story it picks up with Silas in the hospital and recovering from a motorcycle accident. He is the one who suffers the most as it is his twin (Claire) that is missing. Eden was Claires best friend and she also suffers badly due to her disappearance. Eden remained close to the Creed's but there is only one Creed she would be willing to give her heart too. When Silas manipulates Eden to help him, the story becomes deeper. The sadness is overwhelming but it is what makes this series so awesome. Shauna really pulls us in to the depths of depression and other issues in this story. There is no way to make it through without your emotions getting in the way. In order to follow the story you have to read this series in order. **I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
~ Five brothers, one family tragedy, untold heartache. ~
I have followed all five brothers as they deal with the tragedy of their sister missing. Silas's story broke me. Not only did we have closure on Claire's tragedy there are other consequences that broke me. This story took turns that I did not see coming. You can feel Silas's pain each and every chapter.
I don't know what to write to do this story or even this series justice. Ms. Allen writes characters that take place in your heart and don't let go. Be prepared to not put this book down until you are done. As death tears a family apart closure and happiness brings them back together. When they form that tight family bond a tragedy will work to tear the apart again. Bring you tissues.
Let me start by saying, this is not a standalone book! You must read the previous books to know what is happening in this book! This is the book that finally answered all of the questions to the previous books. What really happened to Claire? I could not put this book down once I started it, but I did not want the book to end. I was not ready to say goodbye to the Creed brothers, but what a way to end. I do not usually get emotional in books, but this book had me in tears. I have wanted to know more about Silas since the first book, and Shauna did not disappoint. I had a feeling that Silas would end up with Eden, but there was so much more to the story. This book was an emotional roller coaster, but there is still one book left. This book prepared you for the next book, Claire’s story. I do not know what to expect for that book, but I know that I will be in tears again. Well done!
Amazing read. It's heart breaking and beautifully written story. It will take you through an emotional ride as it sucks you in from the beginning with its twists. You can't help but fall in love with this brother and his family as they each struggle with the disappearance of their sister. Follow this family's journey as they get answers and continue to heal. This story is definitely not to be missed and a great addition to this wonderful series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
If you haven't started this series, you should. Start from book one as there are spoilers in the proceeding books. Book 5 in the Creed Brothers series is the most heartbreaking. I knew when I started this series that Silas' story would be a rough one to read, I did not foresee however, starting the tears from the first chapter and continuing till the very end. This story is gut wrenching. With pain on top of pain on top of pain. It's not just Silas who carries the pain but a few unexpected turns that just twist your guy and make you cry harder. The heartache is real, the love is deep and the story is beautifully written. Shauna Allen has done an amazing job with a series that is both heartbreaking and healing at the same time. I am dreading book 6 but looking forward to the final closure.
4.5 Stars I've been anticipating this one, but a little fearful because I knew it was going to gut me. Have those tissues handy because the tears are going to flow. Knowing this book was Silas and Eden's going in I knew it was going to be tough. Plus after reading each brothers book I fell like part of the Creed family. I feel like I was grieving along with them. The emotion this book pulled out of me. It had me in tears then smiling the next. Shauna Allen knows how to produce a work of magic. I definitely needed the epilogue. It was the perfect touch needed.
I absolutely recommend that you The Family Creed series in order. I read all the books and feel in love with the Creed brothers and all the characters in this series. The Silencer had me in tears the whole time I was reading it, it was heartbreaking. It was more tears of joy at the end but just the pain that Silas goes through as a result of the loss of his twin sister, Claire, is overwhelming. Silas and Claire's best friend, Eden, are both hurting more than they could ever say but they learn that they can lean on each other and make it through the worst of times.
5 BEAUTIFUL HEARTBREAKING STARS!!! I love The Creeds so much they have became part of my family, I am sad we are almost finished with their story. I have been obsessed with them and devour each brothers beautiful story. Silas....How do I start, my heart hearts for him, he has been lost since his twin sister disappeared. He turns to his twin sisters best friend Eden, who also has been a wreak since the disappearance. These two comfort each other and boy is it an emotional rollercoaster with all the feels that you will never forget. If you haven't started this series, I highly recommend it. Shauna Allen is magical with her words and the book are always beautiful, unforgettable and breathtaking. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This entire series has been one that I couldn't put down. Silas's story hit me the hardest, his pain visceral. Losing his twin in such a horrible way has damaged him in ways that no one knows. Until Eden.
Now with Claire on the verge of being brought home at last, can Silas let go of the past and embrace the future that he thought was lost to him so long ago?
The Creed boys are back for the fifth and probably final time, since the sixth part is Claire's story. This was absolutely the most emotional one. So many things caused big fat tears to be shed. Silas and Eden make a fantastic couple and I was very happy to see them finally together. Great ending and even better epilogue!
Number five is Silas's story. Be ready to use a few tissues, or even a box. But it's not all heartbreaking. There's the steam, the love, the family, the mystery, and that Shauna magic. You just can't find characters written the way she sees them anywhere else. From the peaks of happiness to the pits of despair, Ms Allen takes you for an emotional ride. Five stars for the Creeds!
What an emotionally charged read, I could not put it down and make sure to have tissues handy! The Creed family is strong and support one another unconditionally. Dealing with the loss of his twin, Silas needs all the help he can get. Loved this story and look forward to the finally chapter of this remarkable series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.
WARNING: Tissues will be needed! This story was tragic and heartbreaking while also being hopeful and seductive.I have been waiting for Silas' story since the beginning and it did not disappoint!! I loved that the author's words pulled me in and made me really FEEL what was happening and like I was right there! This story touched my heart and will be hard to forget!
The tears are real with this book! I have been emotionally vested in this series. Shauna Allen has made an amazing series with amazing feels! The love story is almost secondary to the tragedy. I think that everyone should read this amazing series!
This story about Silas and Eden. How they have struggled the most. Shauna has done an awesome job with the Creed family. You feel every emotion that can be thought of with this story.
book 3 and 5 are in the same boat for me in the rating dept. I didn't connect with the characters as much as the others ...but u have to break it up in your mind how you so see fit. just saying. must read series, please do read it and enjoy each of them for what you love must!! promise!! totally worth ur time, LOVED IT!! (I am rating each book separately, but I did read each of them all together, like in one seating, not in one day I don't mean that ...but I didn't review each book after I read each book, I am reviewing after I have read every book, I think the Rainmaker and The Executioner are my major faves. 2. The Prodigal, followed by The Dove and lastly The Gunman and The Silencer ... they just didn't grab me like the others .. I mean they are emotional ... and raw ... a bit of grit ...but those others I just felt for the boys.) I am debating on the star for each of these reads as well as the novella? I love a good series, I love getting really into the family and feeling like they are old friends. The Family Creed Series, can I narrow it down to just one word ...that explains it all. NOPE. so many layers, like a cake, take one layer away and the whole cake with sham to nothing!! I get why they were meant to be together, don't read out of order or nothing will fall into place. & you would not want that, would ya??! Enjoy these old cover, but get why they were changed. If I went on the new book cover (making those stars reflect my fave) I would pick The Dove (novella) that lady who is on that cover, what a beauty .. those green eyes. maybe not really her eye color but so captures ur curiosity. 2nd spot (between The Executioner or The Rainmaker). 3. definitely the Prodigal ...and for me the other 2 just didn't have me thinking of the characters quite right??! but close kind of situation. Just saying. I have a huge "wordpad" on my computer .. I don't have a i-anything ... I have a laptop ...that give u the wordpad option to make notes and save them. so that is what i do ... wish you could look over my shoulder and see that ...but I don't wanna reveal anything about the series that would be considered a spoiler .. i want u to get your own idea and opinions. totally! I think if you say what books did you connect with most??! The Rainmaker and The Executioner. which books do you have more family mentioned .. more characters introduced??! The Gunman, The Prodigal and The Silencer. Not saying that 1 & 2 ... do not show parents and other characters ...but those others seem to be WAY MORE BUSY. I will say I went in thinking ... it was going to be more gritty ... that is a word I would describe a lot of books I have read in the past ... if you enjoy grit ... maybe The Gunman and The Silencer will have the most GRIT. cuss word ...is that what you are looking for (not me) but those are in all 6. When you read the disclaimer ... u see
"***READER NOTE*** ***This is the sixth and final book of this 6-part emotional family saga series. You have followed the Creed family and gotten each brother’s love story. You also finally know what happened to Claire—it’s time to hear it in her own words. ***Due to violence, graphic content, and potential triggers, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. Please read with care. ***Also, please take note that The Dove is NOT a standalone novella. It is NOT a romance and it does NOT have a traditional happy ever after ending.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.
It also contains HUGE spoilers for anyone who has not already read the series. So, if you haven’t read the first five books . . . STOP! Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Go do that first. I’ll wait for you here. I promise it’s worth it. Here they are in order: The Executioner (Asher Creed) The Rainmaker (Levi Creed) The Gunman (Jamison Creed) The Prodigal (Joshua Creed) The Silencer (Silas Creed) If you have read all of these, well, then you’re ready for Claire’s story. Buckle your seatbelts, kids. It’s about to get emotional."
and I would agree sort of. what of the book is the most dark ... The Executioner or The Gunman. But i guess a few others have pieces of that? I guess for me ... when I read the novella that last book I wanted a bang to end it all ... kind of like Game of Thrones ... u have the build up and it keeps building up and then it falls ... not that it doesn't end ...but u know ... or at least i think u know??! no spoilers .. nope. not going to do it. I would say I went into this series thinking it was going to be a really rough and tough series to read ... I have really read some gritty rough and tough language kind of reads and don't get me wrong there are tons of cuss words throughout ... could totally be swore ... i think the words are throughout ...but on a norm ...is is not the grit-est book series i have read ... could have been a heck of a lot worse. There are bits and pieces throughout the books about Claire ...I think it is a series you totally need to read each and every book .. I prefer series like that over any other ... if you are going to put in the effort to really get to know an author if that author is new to you kind of situation ...but don't get me wrong i also enjoy a author who does standalones read too . .. u gotta love what you love. i get why authors do standalones. There is a lot of texting between the brothers ...which makes it seem very realistic or present day logic. I think the parents are kind of a backstory ...they are not the front story, if that makes sense. like you see more of the parents in book 1 & 2. and for some reason Silas is in several of the books where the other brothers keep a more when u need to know u know kind of basics??! I think a lot of what is confusing can or could be the changing of names ... like sometimes they use real names, or nicknames ...u gotta grab onto that keep it in the memory bank for sure. I think Levi acts the oldest ...the others act more young??! if that is even a thing??! I think in the Prodigal book you get more family ...interacting and such??! Lots more news (major details, keep ur nose clean and eyes open!!) in Prodigal than the others??! but at times I did get a bit confused over the names ... Eden is there a lot .. was she seen like in most of the books ... trying to jog my memory??! am I glad I read this series, HECK YEAH!! well done ... u will feel the emotions ... well bad, good, or what?? or OH MY GOODNESS. I am curious which book the author wrote 1st? like did she start at the end or what ... working out that plan??!
We're nearing to the end of The Family Creed series, so you cannot start here. It's a series about 5 brothers, all interconnected by the mystery of their sister's disappearance. YOU MUST READ IN ORDER, The Executioner (Book 1), The Rainmaker (Book 2), The Gunman (Book 3), The Prodigal (Book 4, and now The Silencer (Book 5). And this is Silas' story, who was Claire's twin brother, who is the most angry about it, as he knew all along that she didn't make it, because he could feel it. So he's become a MMA fighter to combat the rage in his soul, as he & his family never got closure. The amazing Shauna Allen really pulled out all the stops for his story, as there were so many emotional things happening here, things that I cannot say without ruining things, so many things that had me bawling like a b*t*h baby, so I was calling her colorful metaphors. They made for big twists that had my f-bombs dropping as I never saw them coming, and I'm still messed up about some of them. Then there was Eden, she was Claire's best friend, who always had a thing for Silas, and thankfully never gave up on him. Oh my hell Silas' healing brought home this series in a big way, and I'm not saying anymore except to read it for yourselves, but again, don't start the series with this story. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Shauna Allen has outdone herself with Silas and Eden's story,, and the Family Creed series. You can feel the heartache of the family's loss, and celebrate with them when they find love and happiness. I had a feeling that this book would be especially emotional, since Silas was Claire's twin, and I wasn't wrong. I couldn't wait to have the mystery solved, and now I am going to miss the Creed family. These books suck you in from the very first page, squeeze your heart so tightly that you almost can't breathe, then let it loose ever so gently. This book squeezed so hard there were times I thought it would never let go. Silas and Eden were especially damaged by Claire's disappearance. They had feelings for each other from the very beginning, but fought them all along. When an accident brings them back together again they help each other heal. Silas handled his feelings with anger and fighting, and Eden handled hers by withdrawing. When they end up living together to help Silas recover and train they are unable to keep the feelings in any longer. As sad as this series is, there are beautiful scenes of nothing but pure love. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so I will just say this for the rest of my review - READ THE SERIES! You will be so glad that you did.
The Silencer by Shauna Allen is a fantastic book! I couldn’t put my kindle down while reading this book! This is the 5th book in the Family Creed series. This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Shauna Allen doesn’t disappoint in this book! The Silencer by Shauna Allen finally tells the story of Silas Creed and Eden Montes. The book begins with Silas being in the hospital after he was in an accident with his motorcycle. Eden has always loved Silas since she was best friends with his twin sister Claire who in this book the mystery behind her missing cold case will be solved. Silas has asked Eden to be his trainer so that he can fight again. Eden agrees and the chemistry between the pair is spontaneous! Will Silas and Eden get their happy ever after and heal each other spirits? You will have to read The Silencer by Shauna Allen to find out! The Silencer will keep you so engrossed that you will have to finish the book! You have to read the 1st four books in the series in order to follow along with the mystery. This book has plenty of romance, suspense and lots of hot love scenes. Make sure you grab a copy of The Silencer by Shauna Allen. You won’t be disappointed at all!
The long-awaited Silas story is finally here! Silas has been that broody guy, the one with so much on his mind that he can't help but appear to be standoffish, distant, and angry. And he really does have reason to be angry. But when he sees Eden again after his accident, things start to change. Eden has a way of getting through to Silas, and we start to see the real him. This story was emotional, and heartbreaking, and hopeful all wrapped up in one. I absolutely loved it, and I highly recommend it!
