Having heard the legend of the Sun and Moon as a bedtime story, Breena Wright, soon realizes it is more than just a story.
When her lost love, Damon, comes back into town, the anger at past actions can't stop her heart from melting or hopes from soaring. Fate; however, has other plans. Plans which are revealed to her breaking her heart forever.
Now on a journey to find the heart of a legend and her connection to it, Breena finds herself in a world long past and into the arms of a powerful stranger. Julius Delante both infuriates and sets her body on fire, but even he can't distract her from her mystical mission.
As Breena learns the truth of her past, she must rely on her own morals and instincts when she finds herself thrown into an ancient battle between two eternal beings. Right and Wrong. Light and Dark. Good and Evil. The outcome will not only shape her future but the future of the entire world.
Now tell me, have you heard the legend of the Sun and the Moon?
The cover caught my eye because it was so gorgeous. When I read the blurb and was immediately drawn to this story. A goddess figure, magic, and a folklore feel all weaved into one story? Yup, that's my jam!
It did not disappoint and I found more to love about it. For one thing the protagonist Brenna is a woman of color (yay a breath of fresh air!) who has basically been alone all her life. She's living fine, taking care of herself and volunteering her time for children but you can tell her life feels a little empty. Breena wants more, and even though she doesn't know it is destined for more. Brenna's family gave her up and she had a sort of playmate/boyfriend named Damon when she was a girl but he's long since been gone, leaving her no word at all. Then . . . you guessed it . . . that dang guy comes back! Not only that but Damon is far more than what he seemed during their childhood. And so is Brenna.
The pair set out on a journey which I will not spoil for you here and Brenna becomes aware that fate had far larger plans for her than she ever knew. That she's connected to a cosmic legend as a goddess would be. And only she has the power to save many lives.
If you want to become wrapped up in a clever world and fresh story I definitely recommend!
This story starts out very well, with passions f desire. It gangster a directionality to the imagination. Turnaround chapter 17 it starts to get ahead of itself answering questions only known to the author. The birthing new questions. It is a good read and I wait for the next book. I recommend answering all the questions before starting a new one and being more detailed and staying on point with the story line before starting a new one.
Needs better editing but the storyline itself is really good love the characters so much my favorite is Julius. the twist at the end was very creative and brought it all together for me. overall get a better editor and the book would be perfect
