Karen did not know what to do about her infatuation with her millionaire employer, Nathan Black. He could be irresistible and demanding, he could be tender and caring. It wasn't right to be falling for her boss but she couldn't help it. The question was- Would he be there to catch her?

Nathan did not know how, why or when he started to care about his personal secretary. After what had happened eight years ago, neither did he expect nor did he want to be falling for anyone. But then she came into his life and drunkenly made her way to his bed. Could he stop her from making her way to his heart?

It's a short story that revolves around the billionaire and his secretary. It contains graphic sexual scenes and foul language. It is strongly advised for only those above the age of 18.

This is the first novella in a series of five.

What was good?
• It was a quick and easy read. I completed the whole book in less than 2 hours so would be good for a pick up and go kind of book.

What wasn’t good?
• There were a few problems with language choice. Possibly the author doesn’t use English as a first language? For example, “I wore them quickly…” In addition, there was a lot of word repetition that made the novel seem quite stagnant at times. For example, “Everything from his Rolex to his Armani suit screamed money. Everything from his cool, calculating eyes to the rugged jaw with just a hint of beard screamed handsome. Everything from his broad shoulders…”
• There are blatant parallels to a very similar series of books that has been hugely successful worldwide. Without stating it too plainly, Mr Black could easily be interchanged with Mr Grey. There were some obvious parallels with plot lines too. For example, the serious illness/death of a parental figure in the female protagonist’s life or a proposal in the gardens of the rich parents’ house.
• The structure of the story was very disjointed and the timeline didn’t fit. The whole book seemed rushed, almost as if the author had a plan of A to B and got there as quickly as was humanly possible. There wasn’t enough background to get to know the characters which made it hard to relate to them or understand their circumstances and a lot of the scenarios in a chapter had too little detail. For me, it felt as though it was a series of short stories lumped together into one book.

Would you recommend this book?
To be honest, I wouldn’t. The story was just not polished enough for me and, despite it being a novella, I think it needs to be doubled in length to give it any potential as a story.

Very well written. Its a light read but at the same time you will get submerged into the story and get invested into the complex strong characters. The story can't go wrong and its a story that any adult would like.
The whole series is amazing and you can see more complex characters in next books. This series also shows the journey of the writer.
