You know this had been sitting in my KU library for a year. Always down at the bottom of my current rentals list and yet I never put it back because I didn't want to forget about it. I'm so glad I did.

This is the first book I've read of Mia Carson's and I really enjoyed it. It didn't matter what circumstances brought Natalie and Vincent together. I loved that they kept an open mind and an open heart deciding to make things work and give it a real shot. Also partly due to their crazy steamy chemistry and the sexual tension simmering between them.

I loved it. I love Married at First Sight the show and those kind of romances. I basically lived it myself so can say from experience they can work out wonderfully. Sometimes going in blind with no expectations can be a great thing.

This exceeded my expectations. What a great surprise!

Natalie Jenkins and Vincent Cunningham met through a website called "Married At First Sight" (hence the title of the book), and were married a few days later. There was a twelve-week trial period, at the end of which the couple would either choose to stay married or file for a divorce.
Natalie, who had been horribly injured in a car accident three years prior to the start of the story, had become a hermit, much to the dismay of her twin sister, Lana Jenkins. Her sister tried everything she could to help bring her back to the fun-loving person she had been before the accident, but she was having no luck.
Vincent, who was planning on running for a position in Congress, was told by his campaign manager and his mother that he needed to do something to make himself more appealing to voters and that in order to do so, he needed to set aside his playboy ways and settle down with a wife and kids (the kids being his mother's idea since she wanted grandbabies to love on). So he was set up with a profile on the marriage app. The one profile that stuck out the most was the one for a girl named Lana Jenkins, and he set out to contact her.
Unfortunately for Vincent (he didn't know yet) was that Lana was engaged to another man, and had forgotten she had even set up a profile to find a husband (she did so when she and her now-fiancee had gotten into a fight, broke up, and then a few weeks later, they were back together.). When she got the email about having been matched up, she decided that her sister Natalie should take her place...and with much reluctance, she did.
When she and Vincent began talking, they both realized they had made a connection. However, he wasn't aware that he was talking to Natalie and not her sister. So when they were married, the wrong name was put on the marriage license. However, Natalie's conscience had been bothering her from even before she started talking with him. She hadn't wanted to deceive him. She hadn't even wanted to give in to her sister's machinations at all. So on their wedding night, she told him the truth, and it made for a difficult week for them both.

Although they managed to work through many of the issues and both decided they wanted to stay married, there were others who wanted to bring them down...and they did. There was quite a bit of angst and drama throughout the entire book.
Both of the main characters were well-developed and mature, and both showed growth as the story progressed. The emotional rollercoaster ride was full of twists and turns and it kept the reader glued to the pages. This book earned a five-star rating and a place in the Keeper for the Shelves collection.

Hot steamy romance with a great plot

My Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I was in dire need of a palate cleanser. And this one right about jumped at me. All I was looking for was a steamy romance with a semblance of a plot. This one delivered and did more.

Vincent is a millionaire and running for congress. However, he is lonely and turned himself into a playboy to escape his loneliness. When his PR guy asks him to find a wife to better stand a chance of winning the run for congress, he suggests setting up a profile at a website called Marriage at First Sight. Here he matches with a budding lawyer, Lana, with whom he is ready to tie the knot. However, his bride gets switched at wedding with Lana's identical twin Natalie, a budding astrophysicist and suffering from PTSD. Will their marriage be able to survive the hurdles and lies it gets founded on?

I loved the story as it built up. There was a lot of sexual tension from the very beginning. But the build up was slow and the steam that followed burnt hard and made my toes curl. I loved the MCs and the side characters. I loved the strength of the MCs, but especially Natalie. I also loved this book because there was no miscommunication trope in it.

My favorite tropes in this romance were
❣️ Marriage of convenience
❣️ Enemies to lovers
❣️ Sunshine vs sunshine
❣️ Gentlemanly husband
❣️ Emotionally supportive MMC
❣️ Virgin FMC
❣️ No miscommunication

Loved loved loved this book. And now that my palate is cleansed, I'll get back to my ARCs.

Sparks at First Touch

Vincent Cunningham is looking for a wife to both make him a more appealing political candidate and to ease to loneliness he's been feeling. When his campaign manager suggest a marriage website as a solution, he gives it a shot and finds a high potential match--Lana.
Natalie is an online college instructor in science. She's the survivor of a horrible car accident that left her burned on parts of her body and with some PTSD. Her identical twin, Lana, suggests that Natalie take her place on a matchmaking website as she'd even forgotten she'd signed on until she gets an email from a Vincent. Natalie scoffs at first because although they look identical, they're quite opposite in many ways in personality. But when she sees Vincent's profile pic, she's drawn. As they begin emailing back and forth, she's further drawn and agrees to marry him.
Vincent really enjoys getting to know "Lana" and when they finally meet on their wedding day, he feels an instant spark the first time he touches her hand. What happens as the truth is told and that spark is given tinder is fun and sexy.

Love is a wonderful thing!

What an amazing love story! Being hurt as many times as I have, it fills me with joy to read stories where love wins! (I know, not real stories! But still.) Ms. Mia Carson did an excellent job making you feel the love between the sisters and the main Characters.

A good read

It took me a few pages to get caught up in the story, but once I did, I finished it in a morning. I appreciate the way the author put it together...to show how strong love truly can be.

Very intriguing

The storyline is so "on the edge" it kept me wanting to know more. The live and caring shows life can be positive even when things go terribly wrong.

Right priorities

Not at all crazy about the campaign manager & ending shows why. They may have met in unusual circumstances but their hearts & heads ended in the right place.

married at first sight

When I first started to read the story, I thought, how will this end? The author has a way to make the plot work. Story is enjoyable.

it’s one that lets you getaway

it’s one of those easy read book takes you away and relaxes you. Easy read but enough to get away and enjoy I even cried on the sad part,

good short read

The book is a good length for a day read. The story line didn’t drag out and make more story lines.
