With a charismatic and informed voice, Sidran illuminates scenes from his childhood in Chicago and gives an inside view of the recording industry, also revealing an awareness of the history of Jewish contributions to jazz.

Ben is a terrific story teller. His reverence for the artists who have come before him and those who he has worked with is part of what makes reading this book special.
