After Forever: The Inside Story Of Black Sabbath's Greatest Tour

Rate this book
After Forever is a monument in metal. When the kings of the genre, Black Sabbath, went on their greatest tour, Stephen "Krusher" Joule went with them. He was the DJ, MC, photographer and bands confidante as Sabbath, Slayer, Slipknot, Rob Zombie and other giants of rock blazed loud across the United States. It was Sabbath's finest hour, documented here in words and over a thousand pictures from on stage, back stage, and inside the dressing rooms. Now Sabbath are no more, After Forever records what they were in the most insightful, intimate story of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll ever written. These are the stories that have never been told. These are the pictures that have never been seen. This is what live rock music will be known for After Forever.

A very entertaining read

Krusher's account of his time djing and compering Ozzfest is very enjoyable, albeit tamer than I imagined it would be. Great photos too.

A fascinating and often hilarious account of one man's experiences on the road.

Krusher Joule is a legend in the British Metal community. From album cover designs, to music journalism, via television presenting and festival MC'ing, he's pretty well seen it all over the years.
This diary of his time on the road with Black Sabbath, Slayer, Rob Zombie and a host of other big names is always entertaining, insightful and honest. It is also often hilarious, with anecdotes of his encounters with the great and good (and often the not so great or good) in the world of Metal, and descriptions of general touring shenanigans.
Yes, one downside is the fairly hefty price tag, but this is apparently down to Amazon because of the large number of photos making it such a large digital file, rather than to Krusher himself.
Oh yes, the photos. Didn't mention them earlier, but they are all taken by the man himself and offer a unique and candid visual insight into the "behind the scenes" side of a major tour.
Definitely one of my favourite books on music and its personalities, written in a very engaging and entertaining style by a genuinely nice bloke who deserves all our support.
