Thank you to librarything and the author, Amanda Rice, for providing an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. To quote the author " Meal Prepping is the process of planning what you are going to eat (and how you are going to make it) ahead of time." The recipes in this book were chosen for any Clean Eating diet. The term "Clean Eating" is what it suggests: eating food that has not been altered by processing of any kind. The book is handily divided in breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and dessert recipes, which makes it easy to search out a recipe. Each recipe clearly lists the ingredients needed, along with precise instructions and nutritional data. The ingredients used can easily be found in most grocery stores. Having tried a few recipes already, I can vouch that clean eating is a delight and the prep instructions make meal planning so easy. I can see how one could lose weight with these recipes but try them for the pure joy of clean eating as well. Your taste buds will thank you.

I received the book Meal Prep by Amanda Rice, at no charge in exchange for my honest review. The book begins with some explanation of clean eating and the importance. It also discusses the helpfulness of meal preparation. The remainder of the book is divided into recipe categories of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts. Each recipe has the ingredients, instructions and the nutritional content. I unfortunately found the recipes to be randomly placed in categories. There are egg dishes in the dessert section and salads in the breakfast section. The recipes may have been easy to cook, but ingredients in many dishes are not easy to recognize or available in traditional grocery stores. An example would be in the breakfast recipe, Pomegranate and Broad Bean Salad, with ingredients of broad beans, pomegranates, watercress, fennel bulb and Bulghar wheat. Due to the difficulty in locating ingredients, these recipes are not something I will use.

Meal Prep: Healthy Meal Prep Recipes to Lose Weight and Save Time for Your Family and Friends by Amanda Rice
TOC where recipes are broken up into meal categories. Intro with small color pictures talk about meal prepping and how to do it and why and how easy and money saving it can be.
Each recipe starts with a title and small color picture, prep and cook times and servings.
List of ingredients are included and you should be able to substitute for your healthier dietary needs: low sodium, low fat, low sugar and fresh vs. canned items.
Directions are given and some nutritional information is included: calories, fat, carbs and protein.
I don't like having a recipe that has American and UK measurements, takes time out of preparing it to convert it to American.
Apple mug muffin sounds like one I'd really enjoy. There's a lot to these recipes. hope you give them a try.

The cookbook is in six parts, introduction, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts. The introduction covers basics such as eat fresh, avoid processed foods, and advantages to clean eating. Each recipe has a list of ingredients, step-by-step instructions, and nutrition information. Measurements are in grams may be unfamiliar to some readers. Recipes include many ingredients that may be harder to find, (i.e. rapeseed oil, watercress, rose harissa, rocket, etc.). The author did not provide an index although a list of recipes is included in the Contents.

LibraryThing Member Giveaway randomly chose me to receive this book. Although encouraged, I was under no obligation to write a review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
