From Bestselling Author Mickey Miller, a small town romantic comedy that will light your kindle on fire. I'm studying to be a sex therapist, and I haven't even had sex yet. Which is why I decide that Professor Hanks is going to be the one to take my virginity. I want Professor Hanks to be my dom. Hung Hanks. That's what they call him. All the students know Professor Hanks' reputation since he grew up in Blackwell. Small town high school football star turned Harvard Ph.D. Only in town to care for his dying mother. Too good for 'local' girls. I've done my research, and he's the perfect candidate for what I want. Hot, smart, dominant. Did I mention hung? Cole Sixty Days. That's all she wants from me. Not even a full semester. Rose Allison wants me to be her dom for two months, and then she's done with me. She wants me to show her how to be the perfect little submissive and then move on. But the thing is, sixty days isn't nearly enough for me. Once I get started, I have to finish her. There's just one big problem. She's a student. I'm her professor. Our romance isn't exactly in line with school policy. Sure, you've heard of student teacher romances before. Except this one has an ending no one saw coming. Not even me. **Professor with Benefits is a 60,000+ Standalone novel with an HEA. It gets down and dirty so enjoy!**

I like to think of myself as an open minded, approachable and welcoming person. I have my qualms when it comes to men attempting to write romance novels. Do they have a space in this industry? Well, of course.

There aren't a lot of them but the very few that exist have a very bad track record.

They find booktok, they see how many women are out there exploring kinks and their sexualities and they think: well, that should be easy enough right? Writing a romance. I've seen enough porn.

IF WOMEN CAN DO IT AND MAKE MILLIONS in this industry, I should definitely stick my penis in it.

And honestly? That's ok. That doesn't intimidate any of us. I decided to give it a shot. I've been seeing this author's tiktoks everywhere, apparently he is the guy who writes THE BEST AND SEXIEST FEMALE POV and I was like:

Despite my doubts, I wanted to be fair to him. Like I say it all the time, writing a book is no easy task and every person deserves to be valued for that, no matter how much criticism I offer them. He currently has over 15 published books on kindle unlimited, it's not easy to write full time but apparently it's extremely easy to sit down and write your own little sick fantasies where every woman is less than you.

When I asked him (the author) why he writes romance, he told me: a tarot reader told him he was a woman in 99 of his past lives and that is why he writes blow job scenes with ease. Here I was thinking you wrote those scenes with ease just because you liked sucking cock, (which I am totally cool with) but nah, he wanted to make sure I knew he was straight.

Let's get on with it, shall we? I don't show women I read any mercy. This dude won't get a different treatment.

The word COCK showed up 126 times in a 220 page book. And the sentence was always the same: you like my big cock? take my big cock, you should ride my big cock, you like my big intelligent cock? his cock had more personality than the main character by the end of it all.

Funny enough, he told me his books are NOT SUPERFICIAL and he really loves to get into his characters PSYCHE .

In this book, the female main character wants to become a sex therapist but she is a VIRGIN! And she can't possibly give people sex therapy when she hasn't even had sex herself. So she approaches her SEXUAL THERAPY TEACHER

and begs him on her knees, please fuck me. Only an intelligent handsome amazing awesome big cocked guy like you could possibly take my virginity in the right way.

I swear to god it was like being inside this guy's head and hell seemed like a better place to be.

Putting aside the fact that this dude wrote 3 paragraphs on how he disagrees that "being attracted to someone from the opposite gender could be seen as sexual harassment in school" - leave it to a male author to write about how UNFAIR he thinks SEXUAL HARASSMENT RULES are...

From his self-promo I could've sworn I would read this book and not even remember it was written by a man... but oh boy... it was actually hard to forget and he made sure of it:

"When I'm done with you, one of the most intelligent girls in this entire university (he met her 10 seconds ago btw), you'll be so fucking amazing that you'll be out of the league of probably ninety percent of the men in this stupid town."

So let me get this straight, your dick has some kinda magical power that will TURN THIS "unattractive 22 virgin woman" (he kept saying constantly that she wasn't the prettiest but she wanted him) into something truly desirable because YOU touched her.

"I'll be too good for other men?" she asks coyly. BRO, YOU CAN'T KEEP WRITING YOUR WET DREAMS AND START CALLING IT A ROMANCE NOVEL DUDE, you just can't.

Anyways, he makes her moan in the middle of a bar just by saying how amazing her tits are, she cums from giving him a blowjob, she repeats constantly that he is so handsome, so intelligent, so hot and that she could see how big his cock was from a mile away and she for SURE thought he had socks in there.

"Professor Hanks, just fuck me already. I want to know what it feels like to have a cock in me. A big cock. YOUR COCK." You will also catch her BEGGING him to fuck her and this exact sentence repeats itself over 87 times in a 222 page book. Yes. I DID COUNT.

I mean, the mediocre writing aside, the lack of knowledge in the actual art of writing a romance, the lack of depth and development from these characters ASIDE...I truly truly believed it wouldn't get worse than this. But it did...

"Rose you are so fucking malleable" I grin "it's adorable"

"Malleable? What does that mean?" The fucking innocence she has. I am going to teach this girl so much more than BIG WORDS" - I AM NOT FUCKING JOKING, this is a quote.

It means I am about to be the CATALYST that turns you into a little slut" "Oh god" she whimpers, smiling. "Professor Hanks, I love it when you use BIG WORDS

I am sorry, I am actually PISSING myself with laughter. You honestly think MALLEABLE and CATALYST are big words? How long have you been writing? Also...isn't she the smartest girl in school? But I guess it wouldn't be your wet little fantasy if you didn't have a DUMB STUPID woman to teach BIG words to like a child right?

Honorable mentions to him telling her she is PERFECT because!!! You're a people pleaser Rose. You're every man's dream.

Yeah, that is also a FUCKING quote from this book.

I got pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis from reading this book and inhaling all this sexist toxicity. Oh you don't know what that is? I bet this word is longer than your cock. Google it, you might actually learn some big words. Maybe women do have something to teach you from time to time. Look it up big boy.

Anyways, I can't fucking believe I read this entire thing for you guys. Go send me some money, I need to move on... and take a shower or something.

Mediocre, PAINFULLY obvious that it was written by a man, INSULTING in many ways to women everywhere. I really hope you're not getting laid because you're writing romance novels and infiltrating yourself into bookstagram and being friends with willow winters *pukes* and shit. Anyways, I expect to see your name on a list soon. And that list probably won't be the next Barnes and Noble best seller... but good luck with your projects.

ps: I want to make sure everyone understands we support and love male LGBTQ+ authors and even cisgender male authors when they're good writers, but this wasn't it. lol

I made it 33% and I can go no further. I honestly can't tell if the author is trying to pull a fast one on the reader, if the author hasn't actually had sex, or if they just chose some really unfortunate phrasing the editor failed to catch (along with several typos). Like, there are some serious misunderstandings about male and female anatomy alike. Just, ew. No.

Aside from that, Cole, the main character, is supposed to be this amazingly experienced Dom who agrees to train Rose to be like omg the best sub evarrrr. I made it through four of their "scenes" before giving up any hopes of seeing anything close to a realistic D/s relationship. Again: just, ew. No.

It's romance's first ever Dom-Com ever written and let me tell you it had me laughing from beginning to end.

It's about a forbidden romance between a college professor named Cole Hanks and his sexual psychology student named Rose Allison.

At first when Rose says to him that she wants him to take her virginity while she's meeting with him in his office he says:“Get the fuck out of my office,” he growls. “Now.” but after Rose convinces Cole that he should at a bar, he then tells her she doesn't know what she is getting herself into so he tells her to come by his office during Saturday morning hours at Blackwell University so they could discuss it if she was still serious about it to stop on by and then they eventually embark on a dominant and submissive relationship and Cole thinks that they should keep it a secret just between them and she agrees.

Professor Hunk... I mean Professor Hanks (and yes he is hot lol back to the review at hand) says his favorite thing about her is her intelligence and not to mention he says that she's 'fucking hot' as well and my first opinion about her is that she has a ready wit about her that I absolutely love in my female protagonists and not to mention I love alpha males and bad boys who know what they want and goes for it and loves to be in control of every situation.

But what I'm trying to say is that this book is one steamy read that I promise will cause you to want to take a cold shower afterwards. Bravo Mickey you did it again like you always do in your books and can't wait to read book two in your Blackwell series!!!

Professor with Benefits is my first Mickey Miller read. While this book has some parts that were a little too far-fetched at times the series and author has great potential and I'm really looking forward to reading more.

First we have the hot college professor Cole Hanks that is very proud of the fact that he went to Harvard, so much so that he continually refers back to "I graduated from Harvard" or some variation of that statement. Cole is actually a very likable character which is why the pretentious repeating of I went to Harvard doesn't exactly fit.

Then we have the mother/daughter duo. The Dean of the college (mom) can't help but throw herself at Professor Hanks every chance she gets. Lets not leave out that she's married and asked if her husband could watch. Oh yeah and did I mention this was literally right after the Stepford like staff meeting about nothing other than sexual harassment and how sleeping with a student or co-worker is a big no-no. Meanwhile as Mom is taking every chance she can get to come on to the Professor he's busy having sex with her daughter behind everyone's back. Why is it a secret you ask. You guessed it she's his student. That's not even the most out there part. You see Rose is a sexual psychology student with aspirations to become a couple's sex therapist. In itself that isn't odd. Throw in that Rose is a virgin and after one class with Professor Hanks decides that he needs to be the one to take her virginity and teach her all about sex so that she can be a successful therapist and we now reach the you've got to be kidding me zone. Did I mention that he's also a Dom?

This town has got to house the craziest people in the universe. I seriously was caught between laughing out loud and injuring myself permanently from rolling my eyes. There were some saving graces that gives me hope. While the story is almost written by a checklist of every cliched romance trope there is I get the impression that it's kind of what the author was going for. The writing style and character development wasn't bad and had lots of potential. Take away the ridiculous introduction that brought this couple together and you get a pretty good story. Cole and Rose are both very likable. The romance between them is believable and I love that Rose isn't immature. She actually comes across very well spoken and dedicated to her dreams of helping couples.

Meh. . .

There were just too many problems with this book, and not even having such sexy MC's alleviates the discomfort of a few of those problems.

First of all, if Cole Hanks was as academically gifted and steadfast of character as he was made to appear (and, it's clear he really was a good guy), there's no way he would have let a student talk him into the corner that Rose managed to maneuver him into. Secondly, a smart and attractive girl like Rose whose only traumatic life situation seemed to be affectionately repressed parents would NEVER have proposed what she did to Cole. Perhaps if she had another reason besides just wanting her virginity taken care of, as in financial need, a drug, alcohol or gambling problem, or some other such deviant need, the reason for her offer may have held more sway. It just didn't sound right, and was too contrived for two near-perfect specimens of a male and a female. Therefore, the rest of the story and its details, no matter how sexy and hot, just do not lend credibility or support to the reason for Cole and Rose to begin and engage in their sixth-day arrangement. Again, it might have worked if either had a degenerate history or set of circumstances, which was not the case. Thirdly, she wanted to learn how to be a submissive; however, Cole did not have the training or true mindset to pull off a genuine Dominant. Half the time he allowed her to get away with breaking his rules or going against his instructions and his methods of punishment were often undisciplined in the most lackadaisical manner.

I just did not like it. Then, to have the hypocrisy about sexual harassment spew from the mouth of Rose's mother, the Dean, with the pervasive, substantiating lie from her husband, and finally the total lack of faith from Rose herself was disturbing to say the least! I cannot believe Cole would forgive her for her lack of support without proof, where She believed her parents' lie. She knew her parents were "off." Why didn't she question why her mother was so dressed down in her underwear, and how her dad could so calmly and unemotionally tell her Cole had propositioned her mother? For a smart girl, she sure was a moron. There was no rating lower than a one star, or I would have awarded that. Sorry, but this was simply disappointing, from all angles.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. I don’t even know what rating to give it. It only took me 4 hours to read, so it was an easy read.

But it was also the weirdest fucking thing I’ve ever read. It’s glaringly obvious from the get-go that it’s a romance written by a man. I’ve never seen the word “tits” used so many times or see breasts described so many times. Also, the whole plot line... I just— there are no words.

Some of the sex scenes were good but overall, I couldn’t get past the plot line of Rose’s parents and how Cole became entangled in their crazy history. And then in the end, he acts as if everything is okay and he hadn’t experienced what he had experienced two chapters ago.

I think, all in all, I would give this 1 star. Quick read, the sex scenes are decent, but I never want to read a romance book written by a man again.

I did not finish this book! I just couldn't...it was really that bad. I made it to page 70 and then tapped out because I hated everything. I hated the lame storyline, the main male characters' pompous ego, the main girl characters ignorance and the whole story is just so far fetched. I feel like this could be a storyline for a very low budget porn that only men would enjoy. I've read other books about a teacher and student or age gap, and they were written by a woman so I do think that is the biggest issue for me here. This author doesn't seem to be in touch with any feminine side because the female POV is totally lacking and also truly unbelievable in all ways. I feel like a 16 year old horny boy wrote about his wet dream fantasy. I was totally turned OFF and this is only the second book in my life I didn't finish.

This book had me hooked from the first page!! It was sweet, funny and sexy and I couldn't put it down once I started.

Cole is back in his hometown to get the best medical treatment he can afford for his cancer stricken mother. Cole is the professor every female and a few male wants on campus but he's never been tempted by a student until the innocent Rose propositions him. At first he flips out and kicks her out until seeing her at a bar when he has no willpower left and that's where the fun begins!!

This book had me smiling the entire time at some of the one liners and even the supporting characters were great!!

I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book

Take a trip to Blackwell, a seemingly normal sleepy small town in middle America. But things aren't always what they seem.
Cole returns to his hometown from living the life in Harvard to teach at the University. The sexy Professor catches everyone's eye, especially the Dean's daughter, Rose looking to test some sexual theories while propostioning him to help her.
Strange propositions seem to be a regular occurrence in Blackwell. Cole and Rose start a forbidden Professor/student relationship filled with lots of kink and steamy scenes.
The first book in the series, with some unexpected twists. Who knows what other antics will take place in Blackwell! Stay tuned.

This was an alright read. This was a student teacher story. It was one of the okay student teacher romances. The characters were okay. There was nothing interesting about them nor anything dislikable about them. I did find the story boring at times. The ending was weird. I will continue the series. I am interested to see how Mechanic with Benefits will be. Overall, an okay read.

Blackwood is the craziest town!! I'm loving the concept of this series and the author gave us a few peeks on what is to come, which I know I will love as much as this first installment. Let me just tell you what this book is chock full of....It's HOT. It's SEXY. It's FUNNY. It's DIRTY. Filled to the brim with forbidden fun and all out delicious dirtiness, I had an absolute blast reading this book and I can't wait for more!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

Ok, I guess I’m in the minority here. I did not like this book. I was excited to finally read a romance book written by a guy, hoping to get the story from the male perspective. Oh man was I disappointed. They are calling this a Dom-Com, but there wasn’t any Dom or Com in what I read. Honestly, I felt like Cole was a Dom wanna-be. He didn’t come off as an experienced Dom at all. I feel like Cole let Rose get away with too much as his sub. She couldn’t figure out what to call him; she kept vacillating between Sir, Professor, Master or Cole. He didn’t correct her when she kept talking throughout a scene... Too many inconsistencies throughout. The premise of this story just wasn’t believable to me. I stopped reading at around 40%. I’m ticked with myself that I got the whole set of these books based on people’s reviews and I’m afraid that the other books will be as disappointing.

Mickey Miller dubbed his Blackwell After Dark series as a Dom-Com and he could not be more correct with the description. Professor with Benefits was hot, steamy and with chemistry that screamed off the pages, had a very dominant alpha male, and also had me laughing so hard.

Rose Allison has a problem. She is getting ready to start her senior year of college to complete her degree and become a sex therapist. The problem? She has never had sex. It’s not that she has not had the opportunity; it’s just that no one has ever interested her enough to take that step. But she is ready and she wants Professor Cole Hanks, Hung Hanks himself, to be the one to take her virginity. But more so, to be her Dom and show her all the ways he can ruin her.

Cole Hanks does not want to be back in Blackwell, but his mom needs him. So the Harvard Ph.D. graduate and teacher is back and teaching at the local college. From his first day, he keeps asking himself what is he doing back, but he knows he did the right thing. Now if he can only understand the crazy that is the town of Blackwell.

I loved Cole and Rose. Cole was all hot, sexy and dominant. He knew what he wanted and he went after it with determination. But he was also sweet and caring towards Rose. It balanced his character and made you fall harder. Rose was sweet and maybe a bit on the naïve side, but the more time she spent with “Sir” the more she came into herself. You could see her confidence building.

The town of Blackwell seems to be drinking the crazy sauce. The characters were funny, a bit wacky and some just so adorable. The antics will have you smiling and wondering how you can get to or avoid Blackwell. I loved Rose’s grandparents and would love to maybe get their story someday. I have a feeling it would be a great one.

Professor with Benefits was a fun read. A story of forbidden attraction that was over-the-top sexy and sweet. A great read to get lost in over the summer. One minute you will be squirming from reading the very sexy scenes and the next you will be laughing out loud. I am looking forward to see what other Dom-Com romances we get from Mickey Miller.

Happy reading!

Somewhere in the middle of Nowhere, USA, is the small town of Blackwell, home to Blackwell University and a place with enough peculiar residents who leave a strong enough impression that you’ll be glad to see it in the rear view mirror. (Except the stoner. He puts the com in Dom-com!) But due to his mother’s illness, Harvard grad Cole Hanks finds himself returning to Blackwell and teaching a human sexuality class at the university. Color him shocked when Rose, his most understatedly sexy female student, asks for his help with her career path of becoming a sex therapist. She’s decided that in order to fulfill her career goal she actually needs to learn about sex, and he’s just the man to teach her.

Mickey Miller does a great job building anticipation from the very beginning. He makes you fall in love with these endearing characters immediately and you can’t wait to see them get together. And boy, oh boy, he’s sure kicked up the heat to volcanic proportions in this one! I loved Cole from the first page, and Rose is delightfully adorable in a brainy, insecurely confident way. Their personalities are extremely likeable, their chemistry is scorching and their attempts to keep love out of the equation are so entertaining. This story stays on the lighter side of the BDSM scene and it’s infused with enough wackiness, humor, and a few twists and turns to keep readers’ attention and offer a feel-good ride as they follow Cole and Rose to their happily ever after. I read a review copy of this book and it may just be Mickey Miller’s best book yet. I highly recommend this one can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Professor With Benefits is a forbidden romance i'm choosing forbidden as i wouldn't class it as taboo. The age gap is only six years it definitely gave me the feels of more forbidden because it's between a college professor, Cole Hanks and his sexual psychology student Rose Allison.

Rose knows her mind and when she sets out to do something she's focused until she gets the results she wants. Cole is shocked to his core when Rose propositions him but he can't deny she's more than piqued his interest. When sparks fly between the two things get very hot and heavy quickly. There's no denying that Rose and Cole have amazing chemistry. With each standing by that this is just an experiment gaining experience before they even realised its changed their lives forever they never saw each other coming. Throwing in some strange twists and turns, giving us one of the hottest books Mickey has written so far.

"She might be my student. This might be completely against the rules. But I'm not going to lie. This is hot as hell."

I did enjoy this read and while this is the first time that i've ever read a Dom-Com. I'll be honest i'm still on the fence on weather this mix works. Both genres i love but together i'm just not sure. I found myself wanting it to be one or the other and it would have worked better for me as either. Was the book hot? Yes, Was the book funny? Yes, Would i recommend? Yes. I just think for me that i would have preferred the genres separate.

Talk about steamy hot sex. This book has it! But fortunately it has also got a lot of other aspects.
It has got a storyline that is very well written and makes you want to read on.
The main characters has really got hot chemistry between them. Is floods out of the pages. They are so well described. But this book has other characters that has a lot to say, too. Roses parents and grandparent is characters that the book would have missed if they not were in it. They make it a fantastic storyline. I like the way they are supporting characters. But that does not mean I would like her parents if I saw them in real life.
The book has lots of humor, romance, erotic scenes, lust, alpha male and lots of drama.
A must read book, that is worth the time and has a good laugh in it.

Who wants to go back to school, oh hell after reading this I DO!! Mickey Miller never fails to impress, he knows how to make you squirm (in a good way of course) and how to make you not only giggle but really laugh. Now the story or Rose and Cole is not a comedy, nor is it a take off of a book that shall not be mentioned but definitely a little of both. Every sex scene is simply HOT, A plain old teachers office is now one of the most exciting places to be on campus, a place to catch all the action. Don't read this book with expectations of what the story may contain but read it knowing that Mr. Miller knows how to entertain you on so many levels.

This was my first Dom-Com story and Mickey Miller has written it brilliantly. We get a taste of everything in the town of Blackwell especially the delicious kink. There are times you'll be laughing and others will leave you panting and wanting so much more. Rose and Cole are characters that you'll instantly fall for and enjoy each and every experience they have. When something or someone is forbidden it's makes the craving that much more desirable and intense. This is one helluva story and I cannot wait to see what other secrets are revealed in the coming books. Incredible read that I couldn't put down. You NEED to one click this book. The beginning was good

but then the ending just went cuckoo. The relationship between the two main characters was great and I really liked the grandparents, but everyone else was just plain weird. The weirdest people were Rose's mom who was the Dean of the college and her dad. The parts toward the end is what brought the 4 star rating I was going to give down to 3 stars. It was just...weird. I don't know how else to describe it.

Professor with Benefits definitely scratched my itch for something forbidden and beyond hot. Its a student/teacher romance This one was very steamy and fun to read. Mickey Miller is a great writer and I always enjoy his books. The story isn't amazing. It is mostly filled with sex scenes and doesn't have much else going for it, but I was entertained, and that's what I was looking for.

NOT BAD FOR THE FIRST DOM-COM

Lol !! NOT BAD ??!! I'm kidding !! This is freaking awesome !! It is a very hot romance with comedy to boot !! Professor Hanks is just to yummy and you can't help but like Rose. Teacher's pet gets more comfortable in her own skin with a bit of tutoring😉. Seriously good read written by the very talented Mickey Miller. You have got to check him out 🍍🍍

DNF

I can’t read this! The writing is not great. There are no character descriptions, it’s moving ridiculously fast, it is dual POV but the author hasn’t really written much about the characters train of thought with any of the decisions being made and it’s just not working for me!
