As you can see a lot is going on in this novel. Trigger warning. Anyone who has been the victim of abuse from a partner or relative may find this book hard to read.
I absolutely felt everything with Elise. I could think of nothing worse than being forced into a care home.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this emotion charged read, especially given some things I am not a fan of, in the ghostly voices and help. The characters came alive and involved me, simple as that. They all felt very real. Thought it tied up a bit abruptly towards the end though,
This is the third book in the series about Peppercorn Street. It is not necessary to have read the others in the series. I hadn’t and it stands alone fine. A very good and thought provoking read that I think many will enjoy..
