I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, Sham: Fake Marriage To The Single Dad by J. J. Bella.
Well, I gotta be honest, while this book is ok, I actually like Sleeping With The Single Dad, also by J. J. Bella, better than this book. It's almost as if this book was written first. It's a good storyline/plot but it kinda feels rushed and the characters don't feel real, it's like they are trying to hard. But, I gotta say, I like this author, I definitely see the potential and I think with a bit of work she is gonna go far. I very much look forward to reading more of her books as they are published.
Paul and Brittany are each having a rough time of it, in their own way. Brittany, is fighting a loosing battle every day to: work, go to design school and pay her bills. Paul is battling with his ex to be able to spend time with his daughter, Lea. One day while Brittany is at work (in a coffee shop), Paul comes in for a latte and sparks form. That same day, her whole world crumbles. Completely devastated, Brittany heads to the nearest bar where none other than Paul is trying to forget his own horrible day. Listening to Brittany's trouble, Paul get the brilliant idea that they can help each other out. All they have to do is get married and convince everyone that it is a marriage of love. Can they pull it off? Are they doomed thanks to the underhanded dealings by a conniving duo? And how does Lea handle her dad having a new woman in his life?
A chance encounter brings them together and he wonders if they're the answer to each others problems. Paul is divorced with a daughter he adores and a crazy ex-wife. To combat the emptiness and void left from not being with his little girl he occupies his time with playgirls and alcohol. His family has had enough and are concerned with image so they insist that he settle down and get married again or he will lose out on his inheritance. So when he meets Brittany, a college student with money woes, he thinks he has the answer to both of their problems . A sham marriage to appease his family and end her money woes. What he wasn't counting on was the attraction and deep emotion he was starting to feel for /Brittany. No spoiler here so I don't want to give away the rest, but there's an HEA and no cliffhanger. I voluntarily chose to review this book. A great heartwarming read.
Brittany works in a coffee shop to help her pay the fees of her design course but one day, she is not only informed she can’t attend to design school anymore but she loses her job as well. Paul is the son of the CEO of a company and he is about to inherit a lot of money along with the CEO position on the condition of getting married. However, he has enemies who will do everything in their power to prevent him from getting the money and the position. I liked the story because there is a little girl who is adorable and helps the story to come to a good end. However, I think there is too little interaction between Paul and his daughter Lea and not enough info about Paul’s feelings.
I absolutely fell in love with Paul and Brittany, with cute little Lea thrown in! The idea that an "arranged" marriage could actually work out is amazing! This is the first book I have read from J.J. Bella and I can't wait for more!
Short, sweet and dreamy with a little yummy sex thrown in. Perfect summertime quick read. Editing needs a little tweaking but it's not enough to affect my appreciation of this hea.
Oh why oh why was the best one yet the shortest? I loved Britney and Paul’s arranged marriage turned love story. They both had reasons to say I do but their reasons to stay united became even more...
Sham Fake Marriage To The Single Dad by J.J. Bella is an excellent story. I like the characters, they seem to me to be real. Worth reading. This is my opinion. Thanks
