Fury Unbound #3

Fury Awakened

Rate this book
My name is Kaeleen Donovan. I’m a Theosian—a minor goddess. They call me Fury.

By day, I run the Crossroads Cleaning Company, and I also read fortunes and cast hexes at Dream Wardens, a magical consulting shop. But by night, I'm oath-bound to Hecate, goddess of the Crossroads. Hecate charged me from birth with the task of hunting down Abominations who come in off the World Tree and sending them back to Pandoriam.

We’re on the run into the Wild Wood, away from the zombie invasion in Seattle. The Regent has set the Devani free to use whatever force they deem necessary. Their research labs have created a deadly antidote, with one major problem: the serum kills the zombies at a terrible price to humans. But things take an even more devastating turn.

As we return to UnderBarrow to plan our next move, the Order of the Black Mist carries out simultaneous strikes at governments across the world, crumbling the old order. Seattle, Atlantea, Black Forest, city after city falls to the chaos magicians. The world around us has changed forever. Now, Hecate offers me a choice I never thought I’d have to face. I can either leave my old life forever, or walk into the fire and awaken the fury within...

Round up to 4.5 stars. This was wonderfully intense, my favorite book in the series so far. Fury is really coming into her own here, and I can't wait to see what book four will bring.

For Kaeleen Donovan. Life as a Theosian-minor demon- is complicated at best. By day she runs the Crossroads Cleaning Company and readsfortunes and casts hexes at Dream Wardens. But at night, she is Fury, bound to the goddess Hecate to take down abominations that come through the World Tree and send them back to Pandoriam.

Now on the run in the Wild Wood, Fury as well as her friends are on the run away from Seattle and the zombie invasion that is going on. The regent has set the devani free to use whatever force they need to. But things go bad to worse when the Order of the Black Mist rises yet again and systematically strikes all around the world and it becomes deadly and dangerous as city after city falls to the chaos magicians. Now as Fury and the gang try to get to the UnderBarrow, life has changed for them all. The world they knew before is gone in a blink of an eye and now Fury has a choice from Hecate: Kiss her old life goodbye or walk into the fire and take charge of her powers.

Wow is all I could say when I was done with FURY AWAKENED. It was a madcap ride from start to finish and I fell more in love with this author’s exquisite worldbuilding as I flipped the pages of the next book in the series. This has fast become one of my favorites from this author-well besides a few of her other ones that is. The characters continue to grow and evolve with each book, the storyline continues to weave a spell around the reader with each book as it marches on, delivering more and more glimpses of new characters, places and more. I especially love the scenes between Hecate and Fury. It had me grinning even as I rooted for Fury to continue being the kick-butt woman I know she is.

Ms. Galenorn delivers a wild ride from start to finish that with enthrall you, captivate your imagination and leave you breathless in the end, eager for more. I loved seeing things through Fury’s eyes and meeting some new characters that kept the story flowing so nicely. If you enjoy a different take on gods/goddess, urban fantasy and more then you need to try the Fury Unbound series. Each book capitalizes on the last and keeps the story moving along at a nice, even pace. Now I am looking to see where the author goes in the next book and if they will defeat the Order of the Black Mist. Run-don’t walk-to grab this series and get ready to binge read it in one sitting.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

Fury Awakened book three in the Fury Unbound series by Yasmine Galenorn is a dynamite addition to this series. In this book we pick up right where things left off. Fury and her friends are on the run from Seattle as zombies run amok throughout the city. The government has ordered the city to be shut down and sealed off in an attempt to contain the horde. But things only get worse when they learn that the government has released a "cure" that will damage the humans in it's goal of bringing down the zombies. What's more is that the Black Mist is hard at work and the Devani are up to something as well when they cease to listen to anyone and withdraw. Trouble is brewing and the Ancient Gods are choosing sides. Some are choosing to engage and fight with humanity while others are choosing to withdraw and take their disciples with them. Hecate has sided with humanity and will fight so Fury will as well. But Fury must tread carefully because the Devani are seeking her and once she re-enters the city all bets are off.
Fury Awakened is a novel that hits the ground running and barely lets up as you go. There are secrets that are revealed that will test the friendships that Fury has. There are situations that will arise and stories that will be told and lessons learned. This book has it all. Fury is strong but it's nice to see that she has people who are supporting her and helping her along. This novel is so descriptive and I love reading about the different pantheons of the various gods and how they each side when the choice comes down to change the old ways and to get involved with matters dealing with humans. You can tell something big is coming when you read that Gaia is beginning to stir and that the changes can be seen in the plants in nature. It's just so exciting to read.
All I can say is that I want more. This series is so dynamic and unique and I can't get enough of it. I'm more than ready for the next book in this series. These novels are spellbinding and amazing and so hard to put down. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. An amazing read and one I recommend to anyone who is a fan of Yasmine Galenorn's work.

***I have received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review**** This is the third installment in the Fury series by Yasmine Galenorn and for the first time, things are more perilous for Kaeleen Donovan. I enjoyed this book so much, that I didn't realize I was at the end until that final page. Then I shouted NOOO to the universe and shook my hands lol. Fury and her friends are yet on another quest and this time, she is getting put on the path of saving the world. The Black Mist Order is now one of the most dangerous organizations and they would love nothing more than to get their hands on Fury and her crew.

Devastation has rocked this world once again and still, Yasmine leaves nuggets of hope within the book. Some are subtle, and some are BIG, but in the grand scheme of things, this is what I loved most about this next book. The Apocalypse has now arrived ladies and gentlemen....or is it just the beginning? Either way, we find our heroine Fury, Awakened and coming to terms with what she truly is..and getting ready for WAR. This book has laid some of Fury's past to rest, clearing the way for something truly magical, because the world is in Gaia's hands.

So saddle up kids, the next book in this story is gonna be a bumpy ride and I fear that no one will be safe. Grab your favorite snack, cuddle with your blanket...oh and maybe a few tissues. This story is about to get real.

This series builds on the previous books to a very large extent. It’s best to start with Book 1 and continue in order for maximum understanding and enjoyment. The events leading up to Book 3, including the Weather Wars and Gaia’s angry response, are important for understanding the events unfolding in this book.
In Book 3 of the series, Fury and Tam escape Seattle with Elan, Laren, Jason, Hans, Greta, and several others evacuate to a hopefully safer place as the Devani grow more aggressive and will kill them on sight. The Order of the Black Mist frees zombies to terrorize the city and they rampage in Seattle. It’s not easy, fighting lycanthropes and righting the wrongs a corrupt village leader has inflicted. The Devani desert the Regent and take over part of Seattle, The Order of the Black Mist gains power worldwide and executes Seattle’s Regent. Aboms take over zombies and are tougher and harder to kill. the Greenlings are mobilizing, and another weapon from the Weather Wars is set off to create a huge tsunami. Many of the Old Gods decide to help humanity counter the threat of Chaos loosed in the world and a newly awakened and angry Gaia. Hecate is forced to accelerate Fury’s acquisition of her so-far dormant powers. More excitement, action, romance, and suffering are promised in the next book, “Fury Calling”.

Yasmine Galenorn does not disappoint with her 3rd installment of the Fury series!

This book does a good job of wrapping up a lot of story lines to prepare the reader for the final battle to come. The story has action, zombies, (possible) aliens, magic, gods, fae and romance! Fury is a Theosian minor goddess who is dedicated to the Hecate, goddess of the crossroads.

This book follows Fury as she and her friends escape a fallen Seattle and discover who will be their ultimate allies against the Order of the Black Mist. Imagine a world far into the future, where technology rules and the political climate is toxic. At one point in our human history, there was a world shift (cities and towns were destroyed) and as a result, mankind and members of the magical community (Fae, shifters, vampires, etc) had to rebuild their world....but only to a certain point because of the ruling political class. Now, thanks to the Order of the Black Mist, Seattle is seiged and Fury and her gang are doing everything they can to stop the destruction of the world.

I don't want to give away details but this book makes me really excited to read the next book in the Fury series!

Wow. Oh, my Goddess, Just Wow ! Fury Awakened, book 3 in the Fury Unbound series by Yasmine Galernorn, is a force unto itself.
Fury, aka Kaeleen Donovan, is a Theosian, and minor Demi-Goddess. She is bound to the Goddess of the Crossroads, Hecate. Fury
was tasked to fight Abominations that come off the World Tree and send them to Pandorium. Not in this book. The world is plunged into chaos. Fury and her companions, lover Tam, Prince of the Bonny Fae, Elan and Laren, fellow Fae, Greta (Valkryie) , Fellow Theosians Hans, Kendall, Tyrell, , Dorn, Jason (owner of Crossroads Cleaning Company), set off on a Tolkien-esque journey, Galenorn- style, into the Wild Wood.
The fast pace and the depth of character growth make you feel as if you are a member of the group. An exquisitely well told tale of Gods and Goddesses working together, zombies, evil, other beings, and despotic rulers of the "Corporatocracy." The ending came far too quickly, and I almost screamed , "NO ! " that it had ended . I'm pining for the next adventure with Fury.

Finding A True Path

•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded, or faint of heart!•••

This series must be read in order. The first book is "Fury Rising". The second book is "Fury's Magic". This is the third book. I can't wait to read "Fury Calling"!

After fleeing Seattle and it's encroaching hoard of zombies everyone is a bit shell shocked. Fury feels adrift and misses her city and her goddess dreadfully... She also feels guilty for not killing Lyon when she had the chance and for not closing the portal spewing zombies fast enough. Trudging through the bitter cold storm is not lifting anyone's spirits, that's for sure! Will Seattle survive this new barrage by The Order Of The Black Mist? Or will they never have a home to go back to? How did the Order become so powerful? What are the Devani really? And what is their true agenda? How can no one know where they came from exactly? Will they make it to their destination safely? And once there what will they do? How can everything have gone so wrong?

Fury is back and better than ever. In this book, the Order of the Black Mist are stirring up massive amounts of chaos. They are making a major global move to take over all the cities and to make the way for some serious damage. It is up to Fury and her friends to stop them. While planning their next move Fury learns of a secret that shakes her to her core. What will she do with this information??? At the same time, Hecate tells Fury that she hasn't harnessed her full power yet but first she must make her an offer that could change everything Fury is or ever will be. What path will Fury choose to walk? What changes are coming her way and what will she do about them? Will Fury live up to her name? Read it and find out. This series is a fast paced, sexy, soulful read. It will make you ask yourself what you are made of. The cast of characters has something to offer for everyone.

In book 3 of the fury unbound series we find fury and her friends dealing with changes upon changes. Some for the better some for possibly the worst. The order of the black mist makes their appearance yet again but this time it way more serious then before. Fury and her friends most make a lot of choices and changes throughout this book. And fury undergoes one of the biggest changes in her young life because of things that are rapidly happening around her. Questions remain will fury be able to go through with these changes or fail? Will the world fury and her friends know still be what it was or will it change forever?
If you wanna know the answers then pick up any available version of fury awakened by Yasmine Galenorn and don't forget the 4th book the fury unbound series is to come out in August... I hope y'all enjoy this book as much as I did :) u won't be disappointed

***I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

The third book in the Fury Unbound series and Oh My Gods was it intense. From the first word to the last I was hooked, it was fast paced and kept me wondering what happens next. Yasmine never fails to keep plot twists from coming or turning the tide to make it seem unfavorable towards the heroine but it is just one hurl to make them jump.

The events in this book were more intense then the last. Fury had the right emotions and feel for such an apocalyptic setting. And learning how it all worked in this specific world is amazing. Yasmine imagination never ceases to amaze me.

The book waa emotional (because I did have that emotion with Fury) and fast paced. The only thing I did not like was how sudden it ended but just more reason to read the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book more than the last one and I am looking forward to the next one.

The third book in the Fury Unbound series was just as good as the first two. As with all of Yasmine's work, I was instantly transported into this world through her spectacular writing and was very upset when it was over. I was riveted from the first moment to the last and could not put the book down. Several times during this book, I was completely stunned by the plot twists that I never saw coming. I loved the new characters we met like Kendall, and especially loved learning more about the background of some of the existing characters like Elan. I would be very interested in reading a new series on some of these minor characters. This is one of my favorite series because of the brilliant blend of the different mythologies (the Thor in my head will always look like Chris Hemsworth) as well as the unique storyline. I can't wait until the last book in the series comes out!

This story has a strong female heroine named Fury. She is a minor goddess who is bound to Hecate. She helps to keep her city safe from creatures that come in off the world tree. From a corrupt government and a group of evil magic users. This book is my favorite in this series so far. Fury is really growing into and accepting her power. Her companions range from a spirit, Fae, shapeshifters, and others like herself who are bound to other Gods and Goddesses. There are many other fascinating creatures throughout the story. You really get a feel for the places, characters, and mytho of the story, thanks to the authors' great descriptive storytelling. I highly recommend that you try this series.

What an intense ride.

Yasmine Galenorn never ceases to amaze me with the diversity, creativity and exceptional world building that lines the pages of her stories, Fury Awakened is no exception.

Fury Awakened is a fast paced, twisted magical ride from beginning to end. I have very much come to like Fury. Her strength is amazing in many ways. She hold this vast amount of power that's she still trying to harness. Her limits are tested yet she experiences some tremendous self growth within Fury Awakened.

Fury Awakened offers an intense, captivating and enthralling tale, that more than keep you on the edge of your seat. Very detailed descriptions, a diversity of paranormal creatures, and unique world. A dystopian like tale with a nice helping of some wicked passion. Fury Awakened is my favorite of the Fury Unbound series.

Book 3 in Galenorns dystopian world of Gods, Goddesses, fae and zombies truly blossoms in this fast paced content heavy volume. Fury and her band of misfits set out to accomplish several goals this time around but once again there are forces working against their progress, Mother Earth has awakened and the world is shifting. I am not usually one for apocalyptic reading material but find myself enchanted by the fantastic, imaginitive world building and coupling that with the very unique character set this series is a flat out winner! Now, I'll read it again slower.

Disclaimer: I have received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.

Fury Awakened is book 3 of the Fury Unbound series and a great addition to the series. Book 3 starts off with a bang, with Fury and her friends being attacked. Fighting and on the run, this novel was a bit of a nail biter. We get to meet new creatures, Fury hasn't harnessed into her full power yet, and she has a huge decision to make. Fury Awakened is one heck of a page turner, I can't wait to see what happens next with Fury.

I was really enjoying this trilogy/series. Though this book took it too far. I know the author is independent, and that is fine. There were however plot points missing. Spelling mishaps happen, but this was a mess. Not like the others in the series. I don't know. I have an older e-reader, and maybe the translation doesn't work. Not sure. Other than that a well thought out Dystopian like adventure. But man that world isn't for me any more. I really wish the author would listen to us fans.

World altering

Things are changing for Fury. Relationships, friendships, her entire world. As a witch devoted to own deities I love seeing the different relationships, real relationships, that the Theosians have with theirs. Hecate has always attracted me a bit. The last part of the book was a huge development and I can't see where it takes Fury.
