Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE (née Miller) was an English writer known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, particularly those revolving around fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, the murder mystery The Mousetrap, which has been performed in the West End of London since 1952. A writer during the "Golden Age of Detective Fiction", Christie has been called the "Queen of Crime". She also wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. In 1971, she was made a Dame (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to literature. Guinness World Records lists Christie as the best-selling fiction writer of all time, her novels having sold more than two billion copies.

This best-selling author of all time wrote 66 crime novels and story collections, fourteen plays, and six novels under a pseudonym in romance. Her books sold more than a billion copies in the English language and a billion in translation. According to Index Translationum, people translated her works into 103 languages at least, the most for an individual author. Of the most enduring figures in crime literature, she created Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple. She atuhored The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in the history of modern theater.

Y no quedo ninguno: Un libro que te tiene alerta y pensativo durante toda la obra y que al final te hace dar un giro de 360 grados en tu imaginación, excelente

Nunca había leído a Agatha Christie y, por circunstancias de la vida, terminé aquí. El género detectivesco no es de mi gusto, pero confieso que disfruté mucho leer algo que me hizo recordar por qué leer es divertido y por qué me gusta. Hay varios elementos en relación al título original y al contenido de la novela que hoy, 2023, son cuestionables (cosas que la traducción ha intentado arreglar); pero sin duda que es una novela con muchas capas para pensar: la representación de género, el clasismo y racismo de la época, el coqueteo con el terror a lo largo de la historia, los elementos narrativos que alimentan (y destruyen) el suspenso, el papel del lector y la construcción simbólica en torno al crimen, el castigo y la justicia. Le pongo cuatro estrellas porque la disfruté. Así de simple.

¡Por fin me he animado a leer a Agatha Christie! Me ha gustado mucho su forma de escribir y ambas historias me han parecido realmente interesantes.

"Y no quedó ninguno" (Diez negritos) se lleva mi 5/5. Me encantó de principio a fin. Me matuvo muy intrigada y me gustó mucho como fueron desarrollándose todos los acontecimientos.

"La casa torcida" me ha enganchado un poco menos, lo que hace que le baje la nota al libro al 4. He tardado bastante más en leerlo porque, aunque era interesante, no ha logrado crearme esa intriga de querer seguir leyendo. Encima he acertado quién era el asesino. No deja de ser algo impactante, pero sí que es cierto que hace que se rebaje un poco ese impacto.

Aún así, mi primer acercamiento a Agatha Christie me ha encantado y sin duda seguiré leyendo obras suyas.
