Everybody knows the path to true love doesn’t always run smooth, but Holly and her boyfriend Scott seem to be going in opposite directions. When their relationship takes a turn for the worst, she finds comfort in the company of her next door neighbor. Holly accepts Devon’s friendship with no expectations of where it might lead. After all, she’s not looking to fall in love again, and you can’t find what you’re not looking for.
In spite of his mother’s warnings about the sand running out in his hourglass, Devon isn’t interested in being anything other than a single dad. He’s already proven he’s not very good at marriage. When he meets Holly, he isn’t prepared for how his heart will respond. Since he doesn’t want to act on these very much unwanted feelings, his course of action is clear. There’s just one problem. How is he supposed to retreat when he’s surrounded?
I'm a Georgia girl at heart if not by birth. I love to read, watch college football, and spend time with my husband. I'm a hopeless romantic so there will always be a happily ever after in my stories. I also like to write about second chances because love doesn't always work out the first time.
I loved the boy next door (or man next door) aspect of this story. Devon and Holly are just friends, until she and her boyfriend break-up. I loved the way Holly and Devon supported each other from cleaning out her gutters to going to his son's baseball games. And guess what, romance readers, they communicated with one another! I feel like that doesn't happen often in this genre, so I get excited when it does.
This was a sweet romance, filled with humor, a believable and swoon-worthy romance, and side characters that I just loved. It is part of the Finding Love series. It had characters who overlap from past stories, but can be read independently.
Content: clean (implied previous intimacy out of marriage, some kissing)
This seventh novella in the Finding Love series is another winner. I didn’t think the author could improve upon her achievement with Love at Last (the 6th in the series and my favorite in the series up to that point) but this offering may squeak by as a bit better. Again, each character was well developed, the story line was attention grabbing with plot twists and turns that kept things interesting all the way through, and I detected no editing errors. I was impressed that the author did not fall into the trap of following the typical romance story format of manufacturing some sort of misunderstanding between the protagonists in order to create suspense or tension prior to the HEA ending. I loved the way both Holly and Devon were each able to come together in support of each other’s efforts to overcome significant prior personal trials. I appreciated the way Holly’s indiscretion was handled. It was neither condoned nor condemned and the way Devon reacted when he learned of it was admirable. If there was any lack of reality in the story it might be that real-life men would have a hard time living up to Devon’s near perfection. But Holly deserved the very best and she got it.
I've owned this book for several years & reread it more times than I can remember (the whole series, actually).
I'm not normally a fan of this particular romance trope, or the shut out of the ex, but this is one of the few exceptions where I can sympathize - & may well have decided similarly if I were in her shoes.
The story is one of those that's true to life in its best possible way. For those whose beliefs prompt them to live aspirational lives rather than embracing the lowest common denominator, the characters aren't perfect but their determination to do what's right, or make things right when they mess up, is both encouraging & heartwarming, with a sweet dollop of swoony!
It seem there is a life lesson to be learned in each of Delaney Cameron 's books! This book, Finding Love Book 7, One Woman 's Love, is the on on self-forgiveness. I have found it in my life and it was so hard to accomplish! We have to learn to analyze the situation and forgive all involved in the problematic situation! Then, let go of it, otherwise it will cripple our soul.
As I read her books, I am noticing they are written in the same manner as my favorite author and I have put Delaney's name with my 10 favorite authors! You will enjoy her books so don't miss one of them!
One Woman's Heart (Finding Love #7) - PG Violence: none Language: nothing offensive Sex: no sex, some kisses. There was a former relationship alluded to, no details.
I did NOT see this one coming. Talk about an unconventional coupling! I liked it fine, though. The H was a speck too good to be true, and the h was pretty one-dimensional. I've read books one through seven in the series, this is in my bottom two.
This is the story of two intelligent, good common sensed and kind people whose relationship develops from friendship. The relationship evolved realistically despite Holly's circumstance. The author's writing style conveys the emotion that the characters feel for each other.
Holly and Devon's sweet story. They are neighbors. He's hooked the first time he sees her. She's in a complicated relationship. When her world falls apart, he's there to pick up the pieces. In his actions, she sees what love is for the first time in her life.
This author has the knack for bringing love to any situation. How many men would be willing to take on the awesome privilege of raising some other man's baby. I wish there were more men in the real world like Devon.
This was a good, clean romance. The characters were great and I loved the way their relationship grew. They were able to overcome major life issues together.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. Reading about how people handle the problems in their life is very interesting. I like that these books are clean.
I love this author, although I am not normally a crier, I am half a tick from tears all the way through, but there's normally a point where they spill over. In this book it's when Jordan says, "mom".

This story went very slowly. Maybe all the books I have been reading lately go "very fastly" (haha!) but this seemed to build very, very slowly. Not bad, just different.
