Good second book in the series!

This is the second time I've read this book and I still enjoyed it very much. Even though the story is short, I think there was a lot of plot and action packed into this storyline. Jane's backstory was pretty interesting with her life at home and all the struggles she went through and then to be transported to a Medieval world where she meets two sexy warriors. The sexy scenes were delicious especially the scene on horseback!

I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend this series to those who love the paranormal, time-travel, romance genre.

I would not recommend this book for anyone under 18 or for the faint of heart.

Jane Smith has witnessed a murder and has now also watched her life crumble around her. Her only solace is the stunning tapestry she discovered at a thrift store for a steal at only ten dollars. Then one night the image stitched into the tapestry magically comes to life. Jane finds herself transported to a mysterious Medieval world, where two massive sexy warriors declare their intentions to cater to her every sensual desire.

Zaren and Bador are totally stunned to realize that the prophesy of the tapestry has come true and brought Jane to them. The two Brothers more then willingly accept their duty to indulge her in every and any form of passion. But Jane's arrival has also attracted the unwanted attention of rival warriors, who will go to any lengths to steal her from the Bakra brothers and claim her as their own.

As Jane adjusts to this new and frightening world, Zaren and Bador risk all to protect her. The time for Jane to choose is drawing near, and the Bakra brothers must convince her to abandon her former life in the future and take one if them as her loving husband for all time...

I have never read a book from N.J. Walter's and am not too sure what this is called however I myself would call it Erotica time travel. The book itself wasn't too bad. Ms. Walter's writing flowed well enough and there was a good storyline. All in all I didn't really mind it and I wouldn't mind reading the first book that started the series off just to see where it all began.

While this one followed the formula of the first one, I liked the twist with the brothers. With one brother hurt and barely hanging on the other brothers hope that their tapestry bride can pull him back. I also liked how strong Jane was in her world and how the brothers liked that about her and were willing to give her up in order to not have an incident in their world reminds her of a bad incident in her world.

Love story speed: Could hardly be faster

Relationship dynamics: The Star Murder Witness (h) / The Strong, Silent Type (H1) / The Emotionally Demonstrative Type (H2); H1 and H2 are brothers; elements of the love triangle

Sexual content: Oodles. Vaginal and anal sex; double penetrative sex; Ménage à trois (ish) – no sexual interaction between H1 and H2

Triggers: Dubious consent (whether or not you agree with this depends on how stringent your definition of informed consent is)

Grammar/Editing: A bit of awkward phrasing; comma splices.

Review: Taken on its own, the writing in this book is good and the unique character content (i.e. unique to this book vs. the first book in the series) is interesting. However, having read the first book, this second installment is otherwise a near carbon copy of the first – the author follows a strict formula, which means that this story feels almost completely unoriginal. It could be argued that originality is not entirely the point of erotica, but each book subsequent to the first should not feel copied and pasted from the previous book. This book failed that test pretty spectacularly for me.

In the “real world,” Jane certainly feels like a strong character. I didn’t feel like that strength was entirely brought to the tapestry world, however. While Zaden and Bador are interesting as individuals, I felt that the timeline of the main action of the book (3 days) was not sufficient for full development of the characters, nor to emotionally invest in Jane’s choice. Call me old fashioned, but I also am not particularly fond of the “keeping it in the family” concept used in this series. That is, the heroes in each book are always brothers. While they do not interact with/act on one another sexually, thus not strictly crossing over into the taboo of incest, there is a level of communication in the coordination of sexual acts with Jane that does not sit well in my mind.

I will not be continuing with the subsequent books in this series as they are updated and re-released. Having read two of them, I think that I have essentially read them all.

Cliché version: I have a bee in my bonnet: this book is a bit of a bad egg. It is a dead ringer for its predecessor. Thus, I will abandon ship on this series and move on to greener pastures.

After having witnessed a murder, Jane's life as she knows it, is gone. No job, no boyfriend, no place to live, Jane is at an all-time low. Her only bright spot is the tapestry she purchased from the thrift store. It brings her much peace and joy. One night she falls asleep under the tapestry. She has what she thought was an erotic dream featuring the men in the tapestry. A couple nights later she does it again, only she is transported to Bakra Castle which is depicted in the tapestry. There she meets two warriors who believe she is a prophecy.

Zaren and Bador are excited to find Jane has been transported to their world through the tapestry! They will do their best to indulge her every sexual fantasy, so much so, that she will never want to leave. Unfortunately there are rules. Jane has a limited amount of time to choose her fate or the tapestry chooses for her. She must choose a husband or return to her time.

I loved the first book in this series, Christina's Tapestry, so I hoped this was just as good! It was!! I was intrigued with the storyline and the characters. Jane is a strong girl with a firm head on her shoulders. I was drawn to Zaren over Bador as well as Jane! There was something about him that just clicked with me.

This series is interesting as it is intriguing! I look forward to additional books featuring strong women going back to Medieval times!

Unfortunately this was just an okay book for me. I recently re-read Christina’s Tapestry and I felt a connection to that one more than Bakra Bride. I did like Jane’s character while she was in her world. I actually felt really sad for what she witnessed and the aftermath. I can’t imagine living like she was, I saw her as a brave woman doing what was right. Now the story behind the tapestry is interesting, almost like a pre-destined mate for these warriors, but that was pretty much all I actually liked. I wasn’t a fan of the brothers, it seemed like it is the oldest who basically gets the wife. I actually really felt bad for the other brothers. Not much a happily ever after except for one brother. I also did not really feel the love between the characters, lots of sex and that was pretty much it. I would have liked to read more about Jane and her passion for sewing and needlework and how she could have fit it in this world, maybe we’ll read more in the future books. I know these are re-releases, I read them more than 10 years ago and I really cannot remember what happens next. It is unfortunate because I have been a fan of NJ Walters since the Ellora’s Cave days, maybe it is just this series I’m just not a fan of.

Though this was the second book in this series I had no trouble reading it as a stand alone

Jane Smith has had a hard few months after witnessing a murder in her work place she has turned star witness but it has taken a toll on her and her life. When she buys a tapestry she starts to have erotic dreams of Long haired blond warriors. What she doesn't know is that she is actually time travelling to Bakra and that these men are Zaren and Bador Bakra who are stunned when a second tapestry bride arrives in their land. Jane must learn that in this land there is a shortage of women and each bride must have a husband and his brother as her partner Will she choose to stay and if she does which brother will she choose Zaren the quite warrior who will do whatever he needs to keep her safe or Bador the man who seems in tune with he emotions. Either way she has decisions to make that will affect her for the rest of her life

This is a well written book that flowed well and was a pleasure to read

Looking for a sexy, erotic romance without BDSM, this is your book. However if you want a good time-travel book then this one falls short. This is typical erotica in that there is a lot of sex in many variations, but it is cloaked in a bit of sappy romance. Zaren is over-the-top in his “love" for Jane. At least Bador seems to have a level head. Jane is having the time of her sexual life so it really leaves little doubt about her staying with the brothers or about which one she will choose for a husband. Little does it matter since she will still get to have sex with her brother-in-law also. This is a good erotic novel if you are tired of women being blindfolded and tied up, none of that here. Jane is a very active participant in all the bedroom romps. The writing is good, I just wish the time-travel part was explored further. The TT premise was a good one but it fell flat.

Bakra Bride is an enchanting romance that takes readers back to a simpler time where sexy Highland warriors try to convince the modern Jane to take one of them as her loving husband for all time. Zaren and Bador are hot, alpha males and Jane is a strong but struggling young women, of course all the characters easily captivate readers and draw them into their romance. The passion and chemistry between Jane and the brothers burns with lots of burning heat and the love scenes are a sensual delight while scorching readers with their hotness. But the relationship of course is not all roses since Jane is only in the past for a short amount of time and the brothers will lose her forever if she doesn’t choose them. The plot is fast paced and full of excitement not only from the thrilling suspense of the spell of the Tapestry, but also from danger that others pose since they too want a bride. The author does such a great job of describing her story that I can very easily picture myself in the story and I find myself wishing it really was me.

A woman whose life has crumbled when doing the right thing falls into another world, where brothers find her and plan to keep her, but only if she agrees.
She’s a scrappy though badly used lady, very likeable. One of the guys is equally empathetic, but unfortunately he’s not the main; that goes to the caveman-type guy.
Over the years I’ve read plenty of stories where someone from our reality gets transported to another world or time. I don’t think I’ve ever read about it happening via a tapestry. Paintings yes, but not this.
I’ve sadly come to expect a silly lack of communication being a barrier before the inevitable happily ever after, but this one was worst than most. Everyone jumps to the wrong conclusion and is too stubborn to talk about it. Perhaps one of these days an author will shock me and make an unhappily ever after, because this was annoying enough to bring down my enjoyment of the entire book.

The second book in N.J. Walters' Tapestries series is just as hot as the first! Jane wants nothing more than to get away after witnessing a murder. Her life is basically in shreds - no house, no job and no boyfriend. She purchases a medieval tapestry that gives her comfort while she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life.
This is a special tapestry - it's a gateway to another world very different than her own. Waiting for her are two super-hot medieval hunks and all they want is her - to share. Brothers Zaren and Bador both want to marry her and make her his own, but she can only choose one. One to marry that is.
Will Jane choose one of the men and leave her real life behind?
Very good, super steamy novella. Realistic characters and sexy situations that are through the roof. Sigh. This is a hot one folks. Enjoyed book two and much as book one.

If only this could happen in real life, what a thrill to be so loved with no judgment. This was a great story, well written and very entertaining. Jane purchases a tapestry and starts to dream about scene depicted on the tapestry, with each dream more detailed and additions appearing on the tapestry. The dream is not really a dream but a travel back in time where she meets two brothers who have two days to convince her to stay with them and not return to her time, to fulfill a prophecy. This is the second book in this series, I read the first book, and this is just as good as it was. I enjoyed the book in that Jane has two days to decide where she wants to live and this decision will be permanent. This is a great read and I would highly recommend it.

Bakra Bride is my first adventure with this author and even though I found this book a little cheesy and predictable I found myself entranced by the idea of being taken back through time and space because of a magical tapestry to Javara, a world where women are in short supply and men compete to sexually seduce you for a chance to marry you. I'm not actually a fan of menage stories but I really did like this book and felt pity for Zaren and Bador as they both tried to win Jane Smith's heart for their own. The writing was good and the story was interesting as it had plenty of backstory about Jane's life and the lives of the brothers at Bakra Castle. If you are easily offended by lots of sex in a story this book is definitely not for you as it's very focused on the sexual gratification of Jane and very erotic.
I enjoyed this book and give it 4 great stars!

I usually like time traveling themed stories with warrior males but I couldn't completely get into Bakra Bride. I felt like it was too much condensed into a short book. I really don't understand the point to the beginning of the book , with the main character witnessing a murder. This didn't really give much to the story except bring her to the point where she lost everything and how she came about purchasing the tapestry that would bring her back to a different place, in a different time period.
I felt like it rushed into the sex too quickly without developing more with the characters.

This was a highly erotic romance that was done wonderfully. I enjoyed the plot but wished that it was a little longer. I don't read a great deal of erotica but was glad to have read this. There was also violence in this book as it was in the mid-evil times when life was rough.

I did enjoy the dual POV format here. The characters' had some miscommunication that was dealt but being an insider into the characters' thought process gave the reader the details of the problems immediately.

I do recommend this story for anyone over 18.

Bakra Bride by N. J. Walters is book Two in the Tapestries series. This is the story of Jane Smith. I have read the previous book but feel this can easily be a standalone book.
This is a Medieval time travel type romance story. Jane happens to buy a tapestry that sends her back in time to meet the Bakra brothers in Javara. Bakra brothers move forward to make her choose to stay and pick one of them for her husband.

This was a really easy read, and I was surprised at how fast I finished the book! The story flowed along and was completely entertaining. Our heroine had her life torn apart and was preparing to start over again when she ends up in w whole different world. She quickly gives into her passions, and then learns why she is there. Choices need to be made, and she has to weigh her future with her past. Lots of sexy times and some pretty intense action scenes. Overall, a good read!

Loved reading the mesmerizing second boos in the Tapestry series. Jane finds herself back in time with two incredible, passionate men and has to choose either to go back to the present or choose one of the two amazing men to marry. Overall: I LOVED this book. I really enjoyed Jane's character because she was tough when she needed to be, but yet there was the tender side. Lion Kitty. Again the sex in this book was so hot and steamy that it was coming of the pages. She has a wonderful way of describing it, that you can picture yourself sandwiched between those two hot hunks. My only compliant is that i wish the book was a bit longer, or atleast gave you a 10 year later scenario. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I wasn't that impressed with this story. It picked up where Christina's Tapestry left off, to a certain extent, but it seemed like this one was all about the sex. Jane was not informed about what was going on by the Bakra Brothers until halfway through the second day of her 3 day stay, so how can she make an informed decision about staying, let alone develop feelings for one of the brothers? I did like that she was a courageous heroine, one that stood up for justice, but this story just didn't have much going for it.

This is the story of Jane and the first two Bakra brothers. This almost have the same spiel with the first book, but at least in this book, the younger brother has more right to be with the women. The misunderstanding involved is really annoying. But at least the ending is sweet at the same time hot. I'm now waiting for the story of the twins. Overall it is an enjoyable read.

love this series.

Another wonderful, well written novel by a talented author. Basra Bride is the second in this series and one of my favorites. I found Jane's story to be more intriguing than the first in the series.
