The Bible is the most quoted book in the western world, and likely the most misunderstood. It is often thought to be little more than religious mythology, or a collection of moral and ethical guidelines, or a series of quaint but irrelevant legends.
But what if the Bible were read on its own terms, as a highly personal and unbelievably passionate love story? What if the Bible is really a wild tale of relentless pursuit, the diary of a God who can’t bear to be separated from the people he loves?
In God on Paper you’ll share in a conversation that takes a new look at Scripture, a dialogue that entertains doubts and questions about the value–and the validity–of the Bible. And you’ll encounter an amazing love story of divine proportions.
Go ahead and join the conversation. You might be surprised by what you find.
Its amazing that all this time has passed in Christian Living writing and no one has been insightful enough to journal an evangelistic encounter like this. It is more than a script or apologetics, but simply explaining the faith using the vehicle of friendship. Loritts has done us a favor with this work.
Regardless of whether you have been a Christian for a long time or just have questions about a faith that may seem distant and unrelatable this book may be one to answer some of those "nagging" questions.
One of the things that I like so much about Bryan's narrative ability is that he is able to create a firm connection through legitamate current life and biblical examples.
Fantastic book! Not only was it a quick read, it was easy to follow and hard to put down. The author's use of story and dialogue really worked well and made it easy to understand. I appreciate how "religion" was taken out of its typical packaging, flipped on it's head and smashed. This is a must read for everyone -- no matter what you believe or don't believe about the almighty -- READ IT! :-D
