Enthralling plot with twists, lots of them. Kept my interest all the way to a gentler conclusion than I had expected. Read several of authors works and this description is consistent for all of them. Narrator was clear and very good at his job.

“A Dangerous Man” by Mike Ryan is an adrenaline shot straight to the heart. From page one, I was hooked by the relentless pace and the gritty realism of the action. The lead character, who balances calculated ruthlessness with surprising flashes of humanity, is impossible not to root for. The story feels cinematic—tight chases, brutal confrontations, and high-stakes choices that never let up. Two things stood out most for me: the razor-sharp dialogue that keeps tension humming, and the way Ryan builds suspense into every chapter break. If you like thrillers that hit hard and never slow down, this is a must-read.

A great revenge plot thriller about a former mob hit man who turned state's evidence and was placed in witness protection. Just when he thought his past was behind him, his former crime family plotted revenge, found where he was and danger ensued all around him and the ones he loved.
This was a very easy read and action packed throughout. The author is very skilled at developing characters and plots to keep you guessing to the end. Too bad this was a one-shot. I think I would've liked additional stories featuring this character.

A dangerous man
Very different than most action thriller stories read over the last few years and totally enjoyable in its entirety. Difficult to believe regarding the retired mafia Don but necessary for completion of the plot. Worth other readings of this author's works.

Entertaining story that grabs you and never lets go til the end.
Breathtaking action, reminiscent of "A history of violence", a rollercoaster thrill_ride. Lots of tense moments that had me on the edge of my seat. Thoroughly enjoyable read.

Winners & family men
This story is a page turner. The protagonist and his dog are winners indeed but not without a significant amount of pain, suffering and complicated interactions. Splendid read.

Fast paced
This was a fast paced action packed book. I love how the author added no fluff and this book was straight to the point with a good plot. Definitely a page turner that kept me reading.

Hold your breath! or don't....
From beginning to end I was almost holding my breath the whole time. Couldn't and didn't want to put it down. Exciting and action-packed. You never know....

Riveting
These stories, when a man's family get threatened are always good. This one was no exception. Great bad guys, great hero figure. I particularly liked the part at the beginning, where the wife is introduced to the crime boss.

Very very good
I love all Mike's books. This one is no exception. Lots of action, as I like in my books. I'm an old woman, but I still believe in heroes. I guess we all have a little child in us, I hope so anyway. Keep up the good work Ryan.

Good book
Read all of the books in order to really enjoy. Characters are realistic and get better and better. Storyline continues to grow and develop.

A Super Read

This was another riveting Mike Ryan book. I really like this narrator. This is a great story about a former mobster turned good guy defending his family against his former mobster family.
