Delta Force: Gulf War Operations in Iraq

Rate this book
During the First Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. Delta Force played a vital role in hunting down and destroying the Scud missile threat in the Iraqi desert. Once deep inside Iraq, Delta just like their SAS counterparts, set up covert observation posts along main supply routes in the hunt for the infamous Scud missile. When found, the teams on the ground would call in coalition strike aircraft to bomb the targets which they would paint with hand-held laser designators to destroy both Scud missiles and their launchers. The hunt for Scud missiles was hard; due to the mobility of the missile launchers and ability to hide in the vast Iraqi desert. These launches needed to be found fast and eradicated to prevent Israel entering the war leading to political disaster. It was down to the Delta Force and the SAS to go in deep behind enemy lines and destroy them. At times, being surrounded on all sides by Iraqi forces and having to fight their way out. This book is the true action-packed story of one such operation deep behind enemy lines.

Delta Force rocks

I gave it a four star rating as it is a good book to do with the Delta Force of what happened i Syria and Iraq especially the grabbing of Saddam Hussein and helping out the SAS with the Embassy hostage situation that went wrong they had to wait for a year to get the hostages out.

Ok

If you read these types of books it's not a lot new here. You may find some chapters that seem like filler. Appreciate the service of the author and the unit.
