I really dug this book! In some parallel universe dinosaurs and heavy machinery have 'morphed' to become almost dino-cyborgs (hey - there is a thought). Just a fun book that is sure to be a favorite for quite awhile. Really liked the art! A fun book that is sure to please dino enthusiast everywhere!

I am giving this book 5 Stars as all three of my grandsons love it. The youngest (1 1/2) wants to read it over and over again. It combines their two favorite things of the moment, dinosaurs and big trucks/equipment.

The book was good, but it was elevated by being read by Mr. Steve at storytime. A nice mashup or trucks/cars with dinosaurs to keep the children’s interest.

Meet the diggersaurs! Here to build, dig, ground, pound, and all other things!
I read this one in Dutch, but decided to write my book in English. I love dinosaurs, but I also love building machines and this one combines both of that in a wonderful and fun way that will enchant people like me, but also definitely kids.
Throughout the 32 pages we meet all sorts of diggersaurs. Here, I do have to get the Dutch names as I have no clue what the English names would be. We meet the Grijpersaurus who eats cars and can, with its magnet tail, pick up cars (though this time he isn't picking up the right ones, oops). Then there is the Scheppersaurus who loves digging and eating all the sand. Or the Boorosaurus who can drill tunnels with its amazing and strong tail! And so there are diggersaurs for each job and it was great fun to see each new diggersaur and how it looks.
But there is more to see then the diggersaurs. Accompanied on each page are workers. Tiny little workers who try to do their bit of the work, or get stuck doing something due to the diggersaurs. I often had quite a giggle and lots of fun finding them on the page and seeing what they are up to.
The ending had me smiling, that is such a fun way to end a day of work and I loved seeing the Diggersaurs go home to sleep so they would be ready for a new day.
The illustrations are just so much fun. The illustrator really managed to make the vehicles look like dinosaurs but also like vehicles. Often you can clearly recognise the dinosaur it is supposed to be and some definitely were more fantasy. There are tons of details that make each dinosaur unique and fun.
All in all, I had so much fun reading this. It made me very happy and that is just what I need at the moment. Something to make me forget the world. I would recommend this to all.

This book re-imagines construction vehicles as dinosaurs (e.g. diggersaurs) in an unbelievably delightful way. The diggersaurs are introduced in this first book with the type of work they do, such as the excavatorsaurus, who is an excavator, or the dumpersaurus, who is like a dump truck. Each diggersaur has its own sounds and personality that leap off the page.
What I loved: This book has loads of appeal for young readers. From rhyming text to brightly colored images, each page is fun to look at and explore. The text is generally written in large font that is easy for parents to read. There are little bonus stories in the tiny humans that accompany the diggersaurs, and they have their own speech, which parents can choose to read or not. A favorite for our toddler is on the page with the grabbersaurus who munches on rusty cars for lunch, where the small person points out that- hey! that's their truck- getting pulled up. There are plenty of giggles and silly sounds to act out that add to the charm of this story. I can definitely imagine this becoming an incredibly popular series!
Final verdict: Delightful, charming, and silly, DIGGERSAURS is a new favorite for young readers, whether they love construction vehicles, dinosaurs, or just fun stories. This is definitely a book series to watch!

Do you know reader that loves dinosaurs and heavy construction equipment? This is a perfect book for them! Michael Whaite creates a book featuring a dozen different heavy construction machines transformed as dinosaur like creatures. Very attractive presentation of clever content with good use of sound words and clever dino-type labels on each device. The dozen different machines are a good way to introduce vocabulary words to distinguish actions, movements and purposes. A fun book for home or school and can be featured in word choice mini-lessons.

This is a silly, imaginative book that perfectly combines construction vehicles and dinosaurs to create "diggersaurs." The illustrations are colorful and both simple and detailed at the same time; each vehicle has its name painted on its side, such as "scoopersaurus" and "drillersaurus." The text is short (only about one sentence per page), but flows with great rhyming words. It's a must for little ones who love dinos and construction!

Construction equipment AND dinosaurs? In the same book? What two year old wouldn't love this one? We borrowed from the library and I think we've read it 10 times at least. It's a little long (we meet 12 diggersaurs in the book) but it keeps my son's attention. The illustrations are bright and colorful. The rhymes are punchy and not at all annoying. Be warned, you will have to make sound effects. Each diggersaur has their own unique sound. 😆

Diggersaurs by Michael Whaite is a sturdy, action packed board book that boys who like trucks and machines will enjoy and come back to look at time and again. Combining a steam shovel and a dinosaur into a antomated creature that asks questions, scoops and chomps, that can honk, crash, crunch and shove. There are twelve of these diggersaurs! Big, tough and helpful

Super fun rhyming picture book that combines dinosaurs and construction vehicles. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and the text is perfect for reading aloud. This will be a big hit with preschool readers!

This one was really fun! The illustrations were fresh and creative. It was a great read. We had fun counting all 12 DIggersaurs and saying their names (a good workout in speech development for little talkers) One I'd definitely recommend!

Super cute and colorful illustrations! Children will love the work all of this equipment does and can do. It would have been nice if the real names of the equipment were added (even in an index) so youngsters could learn them.

Michael Whaite’s Diggersaurs books are great for the preschool set—trucks, dinosaurs, brightly illustrated pages and many opportunities for conversation and vocabulary development...along with just being plain fun.

This is a super cute book for your Dino and construction lover! Bright, fun pictures like the dinosaur cutting the grass with his teeth! Also, each machine has a number on it so you can add in a little number recognition as a bonus. My 2.5 year old LOVES it!

This clever book re-imagines trucks and machines to be dinosaurs - with rhymes explaining what each type of "diggersaur" does. Scoopersaurus dig with scoops, Excavatorsaurus are super excavators, Wreckersaurus swings wrecking balls.

Perfect for our house with one boy into dinosaurs and one into construction vehicles. I love that each diggersaur has a number and its name printed on it. They each also have their own sound and color, so it adds several learning levels to the book for kids.

From quietly stunned to roaring BIG, my son got all kinds of sucked into ‘Diggersaurs’ by Michael Whaite. The illustrations feature big, strong, mighty dinosaurs with all the incredible features of construction vehicles, so this was an automatic win!

I bought this book for my nephew and he LOVES it. He enjoys all things tractors and machinery and roaring like a dinosaur. I knew it was up his alley but was still surprised how much he wanted to go back and have it re-read to him, and how much time he spent looking at it on his own as well. Feels good for this book loving auntie for her pick to be so loved!

My boy loves dinosaurs and trucks and it’s actually pretty painless to read because it has decent rhyme and meter, unlike many other kid books. I foresee this coming home from the library often.
