The Trump Card is a political satire. It is based on the idea that Dr. Ross has added a new card to the Rorschach Ink Blot The Trump Card. He psychoanalyzes projections onto the Trump Card, just as psychologists do when administering the Rorschach. This book is not so much about President Trump as it is about attitudes and reactions to him.
The Trump Card is an equal opportunity political satire and does not discriminate on the basis of political Dr. Ross critiques both the left and the right. In America, he says, federal politics is now just one more reality TV show, and political commentators and the media are part of the show. This is very good for ratings, but not for the health of the country. Politics in America has deteriorated into an endless series of personal attacks, emotional reactions and counter-reactions, fake news, and behavior that would get an adolescent sent to the office. President Trump is a symptom of this problem, but the problem existed before his Presidency and will exist after it.

I enjoyed the book. Colin made some interesting points; however, the satire went over my head at times, likely due to my ignorance - I’m not familiar with the satire surrounding the Boy Scouts. Overall, I really enjoyed the read.
