This is a challenging book to read both because of the author’s scholarly approach and vocabulary, but also because he does not believe in the full verbal, plenary inspiration and authority of Scripture. Despite this reality, he somehow manages to articulate a helpful Christology with a strong defense of the humanity of Christ. However, to get to this core, you must grit your teeth to siphon through pages of literary, historical criticism nonsense. Let the reader beware.
