My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have bought my own copy of this book…well the whole series because it is awesome!!

The cover is cartoonish, and it goes with the theme from book 1! I like it a lot!

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. I highly recommend reading the series in order because it is just outstanding humor, and you will be missing out if you don’t! The characters are just awesome….all of them!!!

This is Imogene’s story, but all of our favorites are in this book too! There is tons going on in the book with the baby, and the specialist and all the drama he brings with him. Imogene and Nicholas are explosive together in so many ways. Of course this book has just as much humor as book 1 did which makes me love it! Sara does a fantastic job weaving her tail full of adventure, debauchery, humor, and yes treachery. I couldn’t book the book down!

I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole to any vamp lovers who loves humor mixed in perfectly! I hope I don’t have to wait long for the next book because I can’t wait to read it!

I wanted Imogene's story ever since she had killed the baddies with the garden shears. Imogene, the snarky loony best friend of Celia (the heroine of Bite somebody), is back with a bang. Bite Somebody Else is Imogene's story. The kick-ass hotshot is promoted from the best friend position to the main character in the new novel and does her maker proud by entertaining us with a thorough use of profanity, ridiculous ideas of luring in her love interest, and fierce protectiveness for her friend Celia.
Celia's abnormally fast-growing baby (remember Bella's Twilight baby?) is an unknown factor resulting in the arrival of a sexy Brit at her door claiming to be an expert consultant, as referred by the esteemed Dr. Savage, vampire psychiatrist, and vampire-hunter. Oh, I forgot to mention before, Celia and Imogene are vampires. Yeah, these books are about the fanged hotties who defend their loved ones against greedy vamps and find love in the process.
Imogene and Lord Nicholas Christopher Cuthbert III (that is a mouthful so hereby referred as NCC III) have great chemistry. Their tete-a-tete in that big house of hers has been a continuous source of entertainment. Imogene has to suffer some initial rejection from NCC III before he finally acknowledges his feelings for her. The vamp vampire is pretty bad-ass.
While the plot follows the popular paranormal romance beats, Sara Dobie Bauer makes all the difference with her humor and adorable characterization. While I kept clicking my tongue and shaking my head at Imogene's antics, I couldn't help but love her. The neat and prim three-piece-suited NCC-III is quite the perfect match for our wild fashionista and a little eccentric Imogene.
I find the retro touch in Bite Somebody Else, enticing.
Sara Dobie Bauer has made me take body scents very seriously. Every mention of the aromatic herbs associated with NCC III made me crave for some Italian cuisine. I had to make some pasta just to get over with the book. Hey, no complaints here.
The suspense was tight and Bauer never allows the humor to dilute the tension between the characters and the focus of the plot remained on two main conflicts: Imogene and NCC III's love, Celia's child's safety.
That child of Celia! OMG! I am a parent and my nightmare is my daughter picking up the F word from somebody.
Think about Celia whose kid picks that up from her Godmother when she is still swimming in her mommy's tummy!

ARC Review

Sara Dobie Bauer has done it again. Bite Somebody Else is every bit as fun, funny and exciting as Bite Somebody. Laugh-out-loud-hilarious, irreverent, brash and fun as hell. My only complaint - this is just a two book series. Boo! But what a blast. If you're into romantic-vampire-comedy, you still won't be prepared for this, but you'll love it. Even if you aren't - which I would say I'm not, in general, into any kind of PNR - this might be just the break you need from your regular reading. Seriously. If you haven't read Bite Somebody yet and love a good laugh and well written, fast-moving stories with plenty of garden-shear-samurai-sword-pitchfork-wielding action, do it now. You won't be disappointed.

BITE SOMEBODY ELSE is a hilarious and irreverent romp of a vampire romance story. The plot was pretty interesting, dealing with a Celia's unique vampire pregnancy and some twists in whose side everyone is really on. While there were some funny bits and quirky characters (my favorite kind of character) I found its main character to come off as a bit too juvenile at times. The plot, while fun at times seemed to meander and drag at certain points.

I enjoy off kilter and silly stories with characters who are a bit too rude and sassy for their own good. But sometimes there is a limit. I think I found mine with BITE SOMEBODY ELSE. While I was entertained by the silly plot and weirdness of the characters involved, I was put off a lot by Imogene's attitude. She's tough and loyal sure, but she comes off as obnoxious, childish, and pretty rude. I questioned so many times why her friends put up with her basically acting like a spoiled child especially since they are all dealing with a bizarre pregnancy. On the romance front, I got the whole opposites attract thing with the brassy, rude Imogene and the posh and proper Nicholas. Its just that I kept going back to the question of why are adults putting up with this mean and childish person.

BITE SOMEBODY ELSE has its charm in its wacky plot, wit, and quirky characters. Unfortunately, I felt myself having to push through the plot at times and grit my teeth dealing with an incredibly immature main character.

Why you should read it: Quirky, snarky, and hilariously irreverent.

This book starts soon after the first book ends and at first it was hard for me to get into because I hadn’t read the first book (didn’t know there was one) so I was a bit lost. I took a few weeks away from it and started again and I’m so glad I did.

After Imogene helps her best friends, Celia and Ian, hook up in the first book, they find out that somehow, Celia is pregnant with Ian’s child. It’s the first time that a vampire has been able to conceive a child with a human so the vampire council sends Lord Nicholas to document Celia’s progress for their records. But all the while, Imogene is sure that Nicholas is hiding something and she’s determined to figure it out before the baby’s arrival.

All the characters were personalities unto themselves and super charming to boot.
Imogene is a spitfire with all her crazy issues and hangups while Nicholas tries to be a gentleman but then we find out he’s a Casanova deep down *swoon*. The supporting characters played key roles in the story and added extra depth and plot progression and it was such fun to watch everyone interact in this crazy novel.

Sometimes I wanted to shake Imogene and Nicholas and tell them to just get it on already! But then the back and forth pull they had with each other increased my anticipation and made the story more satisfying at the end because all good things come to those who wait *wink*.

This was definitely an amusing read. I enjoyed all the twists and turns and the infinite laughs. Definitely give this a try if you’re into paranormal romance and humor.

Imogene and Celia were at their favorite dive bar The Drift Inn and Celia was talking about her upcoming wedding. Celia and Imogene are vampires. Celia is pregnant by her human fiance. Ian. Celia was “ special” even for a vampire. Imogene was a blood dealer. Wharf was Imogene’s maker and her sex buddy as well as she sold blood to him. Imogene had met Wharf when she was twenty three and homeless in Miami. Imogen met the specialist Dr. Rayna Savage had called in about Celia- Nicholas . Imogene cut in while he was dancing with Dr. Savage . Imogene thought Nicky as she called him was handsome. But she didn’t trust him even if he was a vampire. Imogene had mixed emotions about Nicholas between really wanting to see him naked and really wanting to punch him in the face. Nicolas came to Imogene about buying blood and she asked Nicholas if he wanted to have sex and Nicholas said he wasn’t interested in her. Imogene couldn’t figure it out guys were always interested in her since she was thirteen. Dr. Sawyer’s boyfriend Dean refused to let Nicholas stay any longer in their home once he learned “ Rain” and Nicholas had been lovers and Nicholas had painted the nude painting of the doctor in the house. Nicholas ended up moving in with Imogene as Ian and Celia didn’t have the room.
This was a good story. It had a slow beginning for me but once it got going I really enjoyed it. I chuckled at times while reading this. I liked the plot. I loved how Imogene was portrayed so opposite to Nicholas at least that side of Imogene at first anyway. I like how she grew as the story went on. I loved how protective Imogene was of Ian and Celia. I also loved the way the baby was in Celia’s stomach and laughed and her first word was the f word she had learned from her future godmother and aunt Imogene. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

This book had me laughing out loud! Ms Dobie Bauer has a knack for engaging the reader in the conversations and situations her characters find themselves in.

Imogene, smugly single and loving it, is having difficulty with Lord Nicholas who has come to help Celia through her unprecedented vampire pregnancy. The picture of Imogene is so vibrant in my head – the hair, the boots and the attitude are wonderful. But Lord Nicholas…….how is Imogene going to handle this man, who looks like a 19 year old god and smells of ‘mouth-watering echoes of fresh-picked basil, black pepper and maybe a touch of peppermint’?

While trying to wrap her head around the fact that her best friend is pregnant, trying to protect said friend, and deal with, well, feelings, for Lord Nicholas, Imogene lives her life in her own inimitable way.

If I had to pick something that I did not like about this book, it was that it was too short. Not short in the sense that the story was not well-rounded, but short in the sense that I was simply enjoying it and it came to an end! I certainly hope there will be more stories with Imogene and her friends in the future.

Such a wonderful read with witty dialogue, lovable characters, and plenty of laughs. This novel is highly recommended for any reader who enjoys a laugh-out-loud rollicking romp of an adventure with vampires who are so human, it’s scary.

I was surprised by how much Bite Somebody delighted and entertained me, and in retrospect, that had a lot to do with the how much main character Celia went against the grain as a vampire. I wasn’t sure I was up to an entire novel inside her best friend Imogene’s head, because Imogene is definitely the quintessential vampire. Stuck in a time period that she remembers fondly, obsessed with sex, and badass to the core.

Over the course of Bite Somebody Else, though, these things turned into positives instead of negatives.

The author continues to overturn many traditional vampire tropes while still weaving a believable (but still unique) relationship between Imogene and Nicholas. I won’t call it a romance, because Imogene would have words with me, but the way it builds is still entertaining and adorable (okay, now she is going to have words with me).

The twists at the end of this book were not as hilarity-inducing, but I liked them more because they integrated with the plot so well. Overall, I loved this peek into the world Bauer has built from the perspective of a vampire who has been around longer. It’s nice to know that vampires are still classing up the joint in London, for example, but I enjoyed spending time in (sunny) Florida with this crew instead.

I can’t wait to read more from this author, whether set in this world or any other.

Bite Somebody Else is a comedy carefully put together around a small group of vampires and one human that now find themselves a family.  Celia and Ian are getting ready for their baby and everyone around them are still in disbelief.  Celia's best friend is Imogene and they have an amazing bond. Lord Nicholas is called in to help with the pregnancy since no other vampire has ever given birth before.

I loved Imogene's character.  She is non-apologetic and curses up a storm.  She is comfortable with her life and doesn't see a need to change it.  She is also a bad ass that will do anything to protect her friends. Then Nicholas comes to town and she just knows that there is more going on than what he has told everyone.

Lord Nicholas is a vampire on a mission.  He is brought in to help Celia with her baby  But along the way he finds Imogene very interesting.  Nicholas is not a stuffy as he seems and he has a secret that he is trying to keep from everyone.

I have to admit that I did not read book one before reading this book but I didn't find that I had any trouble understanding the dynamic of the bonds between all the characters. This book was extremely funny and a great read.  Sara Dobie Bauer did a great job with Imogene's character. She really grew throughout the story.  (And I loved the baby's first word.)  I liked how Sara made their world really normal and they had relationship issues like everyone else.   (Especially when the ex's come back to town.)

Fun times! So, here are my thoughts. Plot? Awesome. I love the story. The entire ending from right before crap went down to the last page is perfect. I loved seeing Celia and Ian again. And I LOVE Nicholas aka British Ninja. My kind of vampire, for sure. His introduction and everything he said and did were great. This was exciting and fun and left me happy and smiling. I can't ask for much more than that. So, a minor gripe about Imogene. I adored her wild and half insane nature in Bite Somebody, but she's incredibly immature, and there were just a few times I found it unpleasant to be in her head and wanted to smack her, but didn't, obviously, because it's not safe. But she did grow up a little, which was great. Not too much, though. You don't want to grow up too much. :) I could also gripe about pop culture references. It's a personal thing. I live in a box, I don't get them, I hate them, and I especially don't get 80s pop culture references. Like, I was born in the 80s, I didn't grow up in the 80s. Which is a testament to how much I love the rest of the book because I usually put books down for that. On a side note, I totally tracked down some blue lotus oil, and I'm very excited about it. ^_^

I have to admit up front that when I started reading this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. I haven’t read the first one in the series, and it took me a little bit to figure out the players. Add to that, I wasn’t sure I was really going to like Imogene. Well, imagine my surprise when it didn’t take long to get completely hooked on all the characters. They are all so very interesting, and the love they felt for each other was obvious. Along with that, I really became engrossed in the plot; I couldn’t wait to find out what was up with the baby. This means, of course, that the book was well-written, had a great plot, and had great characters. The only tiny thing that bothered me was that Imogene was just a little too over the top at times. She was a great character, but as immature as she was, I don’t know how she could run a successful business. However, this book was great fun and I enjoyed it quite a bit once I got past the beginning. Highly recommend! Imogene has a heart of gold and a filthy mouth. She is hopelessly lost in the 80’s. But if it wasn’t for her newbie vampire Celia wouldn’t have been able to fall in love with her hunky human, Ian. Now Celia and Ian are expecting the unexpected and it has attracted the attention of the Vampire council and they’ve sent Lord Nicholas Christopher Cuthbert III to investigate. Imogene has found the one guy immune to her charms. She is going to have to protect her friend the old fashioned way. Work for it.
The back and forth between Imogene and Nicholas is laugh out loud hysterical. The interplay between them was like watching Maddie and David from Moonlighting. The story is fairly predictable but well worth the read. If you haven’t read the first book in this series Bite Somebody , I would recommend reading it first.

Imogene is the woman every woman wants to be, or be friends with, or maybe just sit back and watch. She is not a woman who is easy to ignore. Lord Nicholas has work to do and would love to ignore this fascinating woman but his attempts are (obviously) in vain.

Avoiding the worst of the rom-com cliches, Imogene can give as good as she gets and isn't afraid to move on if a relationship isn't giving her what she wants. Nicholas is far from passive himself and the fire between them is undeniable, and undeniably entertaining. Full of humor, action, and sexy-times, this is the vampire novel most vampire novels wish they could be.

Bite Somebody Else is a perfect follow up to Bite Somebody but if you haven't read Bite Somebody (because IDK, you don't like happiness?) Bite Somebody Else is perfectly enjoyable on it's own.

This is the second book, following a hilarious first, and it is just as outrageous, dark, and sexy. It turns out that I love a romantic beach comedy with a few beheadings on the side--who knew?

This book follows Imogene and I couldn't be happier. I absolutely love Imogene! She's pretty much my role-model with her unabashed and unapologetic nature, foul mouth, wild hair, and tendency to punch first and talk later. She says and does exactly what she wants--until she falls in love and freaks out, of course.

Celia's pregnancy is the hysterical nightmare I sometimes imagine pregnancy would be and, as always with a group of drunk vampires on the beach, things get out of hand in the most entertaining ways possible.

I have a soft spot for all things vampire; movies, books, friends... well, friends that like to dress like they're a vampire. ;) I read the first book, Bite Somebody, and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I like Imogene, the main character in book 2, because she's "real". Meaning, she talks trash, acts obnoxious, hides her feelings, falls in love, doesn't want to fall in love, and is stubborn just like the rest of us. Sara's writing is always witty, quirky, somewhat smutty when needed, and never disappoints me. I know there isn't a book 3, but I would love to see a spin-off perhaps, or a prequel of Lord Nicholas his hotness. This is a perfect lighthearted read with just the right amount of intrigue, weirdness and love. Well done! If Vamps were real, I'd probably hang with #Imogene.

Bite Somebody Else abandoned SOME of the sweetness of Bite Somebody and was a romance full of ass kicking and vampire slaying. I love Imogene's fierce loyalty, her love for her friends, and her independent spirit. I have a soft spot in my heart for bad boys/girls who are really just soft hearts with tragic ferret backstories (read the book, that last will make sense). Imogene delivers in that department. Her heart is as soft, fluffy, and odd as her wild purple hair and the reader gets to see that in her interactions with Nicholas.

The book is really this fun hybrid of action/adventure and romance, which I enjoyed. There are still a lot of laughs to be had and fans of redemption story romances will be very pleased.

Another one knocked out of the park. My mom actually yelled at me at least 4 times today to get my nose out of this book. Thankfully, my kids just let me read.

Celia and Ian are expecting a baby! What? A vampire human half breed? How can this be possible? Dr Savage calls in a specialist from London to oversee this one of a kind pregnancy. Lord Nicholas is a force to be reckoned with. Imogene, being a force of her own, and collide in an eruption of erotic fireworks. A love story for the girl who doesn't fall in love.

This book was beyond spectacular. A great choice for anyone who enjoys vampires, a bit of erotic, and corny humor. A great lighthearted read.

3.5 stars. Had to read this due to how much I *loved* the first one (and due to the cliffhanger), but I didn't enjoy quite as much as the first one? It was just as hilarious and I loved many of the side characters, but being in Imogene's head wasn't as fun as being in Celia's was in the first book. I never felt like Imogene became a relatable character; more like a comic-relief character that got a little too much stage time. Anyway, I did still enjoy it and based on these two books, I will be checking out others from this author - it's so refreshing to read a legitimately funny, romance/action tale!

Bite somebody else is a vampire love story. I was disappointed I expected more humor, more action, not some 80 songs chick and renascence man. I was struggling to finish it. So is mediocre with everything that is going on in the book even the bedroom scenes are mediocre. The story is a little unpredictable and the end is ok so a nice 3 stare will do it.

A wonderful, humorous, love story with a bit of a twist....... 3/4 of the characters are vampires. I never read vampire books, but I liked Imogene in the first book and love her in this one. I love female characters who are strong and can stand on their own. I enjoyed her struggle with falling in love for the first time, as well as her friends reactions to it. Great read to lift your spirits.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. Funny and sweet and caustic

This was a wonderful blend of outrageous fun and bite. Our heroine is feisty and downright painful at times in attitude and language but underneath the non-beating vampire heart is a woman who can fight against evil and is able to win her man. Great fun.

Excellent Great Read
