ISIS unleashed a weaponized version of the deadly Ebola virus, killing 97 percent of the world’s population. Only the immune and those who hunkered down in remote locations remain. Through the chaos that remains strides a giant of a man known only as Stryker. He is a former Force Recon Marine who has lost as much as anyone, but fights to preserve his honor and creed in the face of slave traders and rogue military elements who prey on the innocent. Edwards, his former battle buddy joins him. Together, they care for three young women who survived the plague and attempt to give them lives that are as normal as possible under the circumstances. After things began to settle down, Stryker and his group started looking for a better place to live and during the search they witness ISIS fighters unloading from freighters in the Corpus Christi, Texas, harbor. Our band of heroes face several encounters with danger, including the epic battle with the band of ISIS terrorists who have invaded the homeland with the intent of occupying what is left of the United States. But, Stryker has another idea for the terrorists: elimination. After concluding their battle with ISIS, with the help of an air strike from a still-functioning U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, the group strikes off to make a new life in San Diego, where the captain of the carrier has decided to berth the ship and use the nuclear reactor to power the San Diego Naval Station and to begin efforts at rebuilding the country. Stryker marries Erin, and shortly thereafter they leave on another harrowing mission to rescue a downed pilot from the carrier, and soon find themselves in another life threatening situation. This time they are on a simple rescue mission to recover American sailors that are stranded in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Nothing is that simple in what remains of the world. Follow along as the former Recon Marine and others overcome obstacles and danger in an effort to keep what is left of the American population safe from every threat. If you liked David Nees, author of "After the Fall", you'll love this book.
I waited until I had read all 5 books to write this. This is a well written story of not only what could happen in the future if we don't keep watching, but also the story of a great love of a man for a woman and the Marine Recon that he is and his love for his service. There will always be trials and, Thank God, there will always be men and women of character that step up to do what is right. Please do the next one, I would like to see the man Caleb Jr. becomes and the world he lives in.
Just like your reader C.W. said, I also waited to write after I had read all five books. And like Stryker said several times, "what she said". Great series so please continue. You have so many unexplored avenues to go down with the cast of characters you have invented. I would love to see this series go on for a long time. Would love to see how Caleb Stryker Sr. and Jr. react in the development of the new world. Erin has really blossomed as a strong character and should one day be the president I think. That would be an exciting story! Bobby Andrews is onto a gold mine of excitement here. All my ratings have be 5 for the series. Please keep 'em coming!!!
I have generally liked this Stryker series but this one felt a little uneven too me, though it had no more editing errors than the other volumes. There are still a lot of military references which, for me, bog it down. There is a lot of introspection about the past and the future that seemed repetitive. It never made sense to me why the military commander in San Diego would send one man and his wife to rescue a ship of sailors, but I guess it did work out. The end "wrap-up" has the feel of a final book, so if so, thanks for pretty good series.
I enjoy Bobby Andrews books. The characters are developed. Maybe a little to lucky. I like books that are a little longer. The Styker series is more like a Dickens novel. A little bit in the paper daily. I do really like his writing so I always want to know what happens to them next ☺ .
These books are great. I am sure El Cabo is planning some kind of move for revenge against Stryker and the crew. And I am sure Thomas is going to need help at some point, oh and don't forget the foreign sub that's going to run aground and it's crew will need rescued. Just keep em coming it's a great series.
Great book... I'm a Marine I'm not gonna drag on about it.. it's a great book. So Bob get off your ass and write the next one... OOOORRRRAAAAAHHHH
Awesome book. Just not action it's a thinking mans book. Well goddamn minimum word count to get this thing done. It's an awesome book write the next one.
I loved this series, especially Stryker. I hope you don’t finish the series here, I’d love to know what happens as their son grows and the other lead couples grow their families. This is different to a lot of other post apocalyptic stories due to such a large die off of the population. A great read! Please, please write number six
I'm not ready to see the end of this series yet. Stryker and the other guys you keep pulling out of your hat are still pulling at me. I would love for you to go past where other stories end and show what Stryker's tomorrow would look like..
As usual a great book but Bobby needs to tell the story of Stryker's life with his new family . Does he stay in California or does he take his family and head back to the ranch in Texas?
I truly want to see Stryker continue the rebuild of the USA. Too many apocalypse books only do the blood and guts but I think the real story is the rebuilding. Also, I get tired of how depressing some series are. This book has spirit and hope!!
The Stryker Series is amazing!! I hope you continue Stryker and Erin' s story. I fell in love with them and can't wait to get to know Baby Stryker. Please continue this series until they are old and grey!
Yes Bobby Andrews, by all means, keep the series going. Stryker is a good man; honorable with decent values. He never turns down pleas for help, even at harm to himself. I just wish there were more around in real life.
I believe this was the best book of the series so far. I would love to see how Stryker and Erin help rebuild the country. Keep them coming Bobby Andrews!!
