One's seventies present challenges and opportunities. 70-Something distills the wisdom of the author's popular blog. It explores such topics as parenting, marriage, friendships, health, technology and more.
Judy Kugel offers sage advice on subjects such as love, marriage, and family through honest and hopeful antidotes. Her thoughtful, generous sharing of personal life events inspires readers to pay attention to even the smallest moments of their lives. Judy's book, 70-Something: Life, Love and Limits in the Bonus Years was a fun and enjoyable read.
70-Something: Life, Love, and Limits in the Bonus Years is a gem of a book, valuable for anyone in the second half of life (and youngers should consider it for their parents, grandparents, or other significant elders). Judy Kugel has collected and pruned her twice-weekly blogs written over the past nine years, organizing them by topics – Family, Marriage, Parents and Parenting, Friends, Retirement, Well-Being, Technology, Sustenance, Travel, Birthdays, Legacy. You can savor the individual entries a little at a time or gulp down a whole section; either way, based on my experience, you will delight in and resonate with Judy’s honesty, humor, and wisdom as she shares the joys and challenges of her 70s.
I received 70-Something: Life, Love and Limits in the Bonus Years as a Goodreads giveaway. Although I am not in my seventies, I enjoyed reading about Mrs. Kugel's very full and active life. The book is very easy to read. I particularly enjoyed how the author is so grateful for all that she has and is able to do, including traveling the globe. Mrs. Kugel is an inspiration to all that read her book or follow her blog!
Lovely gift for your parents! Ms. Kugel's book is a unique and heartwarming take on the 70-something years. Funny, sometimes wistful, and always very real, her bite-size essays should be required reading for her generation as well as their children.
