I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.

I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.

No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.

We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.

Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.

It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

What Game Are You Playing?

Terry and Char still are very much in love and make love like they are teenagers. They work to better the life in North Chicago and grow the FDG to meet the world wide threat of the Forsaken. I like how the first part of the story examines the lives of various new and old characters as they go about their lives and protect humanity. The humor and dialogue is absolutely great. In the latter part of the book they really rise to the challenge and kick ass. I anxiously await the next book.

Great characters but with the addition of the kids as adults happening all at once it was a bit of "new character" overload. That is typical of the Kurtherian series in this regard, though. Also typical of this series is the tendency to go from "OOooRAH! FREEDOM!" to "freedom means do what I tell you or you die." I realize this series can be a lot of fun, and it certainly checks all the "oorah" boxes, but much of it at its base is empowering a bunch of dictators and then cheering it because they are "the good guys." I would love to see SOMEONE who is writing in this series write a character who is somewhat tortured over this disparity, rather than everyone being so very happy to just ignore the white elephant in the room.

I'm a bit worried that I'm going to get to the end and have to wait for the main Kurtherian series to catch up on audio or I'll be spoiled for the main series ending. I've already had to set the last book in Valerie's spin off aside to avoid spoilers.

Another great read

I wholeheartedly love this series. Michael Anderle and his writing team never disappoint. This entire Kutherian Gambit series is the greatest series that I have ever read. I can't help but to recommend it to everyone I know who happens to be an avid reader.

Hell Yeah!!

To hell with all those who were on the wall about Nomad series. I have loved it from the beginning and just keeps getting better and better. Th time line kinda takes some getting used to but man the story is awesome. I really liked seeing Cory find a beau and come into her own. As a matter of fact I liked seeing all the younger generation step up. Can't wait to read th next one. Great job!

Waiting again

I absolutely love this series, and hate the wait at the same time between books. TKG universe stole my attention, and I wait eagerly for my email to tell me it's time to buy the next book, and within a few hours I'm irritated that I have to wait for the next book to come out.

Ramping up

The story is ramping up and starting to get ready to tie in with Reclaiming Honor. It is nice to see Cory having a bigger role and her relationship with her parents is nice.

As much as I enjoyed my previous book (Redemption, book four of the Boris Chronicles), it felt great to get back to the THW books, and Nomad Mortis was a great book.

Even though Terry and Char's children are now grown, the story fed smoothly along, with no bumps in the plot line to throw me off.

In fact, as adults, their children have become more real to me, and I'm loving how they have developed.

Things have definitely jotted up in this story, with both Akio, and Terry, determined to see the end of the Forsaken's grip on humanity - but what I loved most, was the fact of Terry thinking before killing every one, as he has Jonathan as an example that not all Forsaken are lost.

The decision that his children made towards the end of the story, will also make for some different times ahead for the whole family, and I'm going to be riveted, as usual, as I find out just how things will play.

Now that the FDG is spreading outwards, it's going to be a very interesting read!

Loved this, and can't wait to start Nomad's Force next!

The Best Yet: Six Stars and then some!

God Craig, you outdid yourself this time! I really thought that Avenged would wind up being the best of the series (to be fair I always think that within the KG Universe, at least), man was I wrong, as usual, with that assessment; this, by far, takes the cake and makes another, better one ☝. The Mister Smith dynamic you've thrown in is so great; comes out of the blue, which, to me are the best kind of plot twists! This is pulp fiction at its best (think of Louie LaMour). I love how this, more than the earlier books of this series, relates alot of the way back to New Schwabenland; when TH played such a prominent role with the Thule sect. It made me reminisce about when that happened, (FYI Readers: with this series especially it's important to read all the books, most specifically the original Kurtherian Gambit books by Michael Anderle). Thanks for another great book, now it's on to Nomad's Force... Rob Ballon

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!

My only real annoyance is that in Nomad Avenged and Nomad Mortis, men who are pushing FDG members harder use the term "ladies" in a pejorative fashion. That's misogynistic and disrespectful. Women can, indeed, run and exercise and be good soldiers, sailors, pilots, and whatever they choose to do! Using "people" instead of "ladies" would work well enough.

"For that moment in time, all was right with his world."

This is one of the things I greatly appreciate about the Kurtherian universe as a whole: the characters take time to appreciate the small moments in time, between the battles and planning, when everything is as it should be. This is something we can all learn from.

Good humor. Plenty of F-bombs. Consistent story line.

I’ve just been piling through each of the Terry Henry Walton series. They are quick reads, move at a fast pace, are not predictable yet they remain light hearted with a story line that progresses from the first book. It took me a bit of adjustment to make the 25 year leap into the prior book, but I feel this one made up for that last challenge. If you’re looking for a fun read without complexity, this is a series I recommend.

Of course I loved it

Father and Son in law moments...hilarious. Second new Forsaken to the team moments...hilarious. I was worried the first time Gene was injured, now I'm wondering if that's just how it going to play out on an Op. Bullet to the butt. Marcie and the new recruit Rye... I wanted to jump thru to scene and kill him myself. So glad that sorted itself out in the end. #nanotech ftw!

A CM/MA SYFY Novel (NM) (AKGS) (THWCB -8)

CM/AM have penned the eighth novel in the Gambit series. In this episode the war against the Forsaken intensifies. It seems that the more the FDG elimenate the more there are to appear. It has become a lethal gambit to continue the fight, but continue the fight they must. THW and his partner CW have managed to continue the expansion of the FDG and are now a committed combative force. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Getting burnt out. Both me and the authors. Not a single new thing in this installment. The reason that I liked the Kurtherian books was that they were filled with new ideas and new inventions. In this book it just rehashes already used concepts and there is nothing new. So the boys know how to fight. They just keep chasing another bad guy that is just like the last bad guy. Tired of it.

Great

What can I say was another great addition to the nomad series . Enjoy the tie-ins to the rest of the gambit universe and the timeline . Have to wonder near the end of the series there'll be a tie in Bethany Ann, and how close this series will get to the start of the age madness

Love this series

As I have spoken before, this is a very excellent series to read, both from the characters who grow with each telling and the plot which is never boring. Craig has done a good job of keeping things progressing with plot twists that keep up you off guard and great one-liners he sneaks in periodically to slice things up a bit Always entertaining. Enjoy

So much happening!

The forsaken have found a way to communicate with each other and TH and the FDG set out to put a stop to it. Sue and Timmons work in San Francisco to get it going in the right direction and Akio puts some of the team in his pod doc to enhance them. Great addition to our ongoing story!

Love this one

I really enjoyed reading this book. I like how every thing is getting tied together. I only wished that Kim's husband would also get enhanced. It seems sad that she'll out live him.

Excellent 8th book in the series. Waiting for the meeting up of the "timelines" and the "Queen Bitch" shows up. Great watching the children grow into their selves. They are as they should be considering their parents are both "kick a$$"

Continuation of the story. I have been finding the series a bit repetitive, but the last 25% of this book moved up a pace and revitalized my interest. I am now looking forward to the next episode. We have finally realy moved out of Chicago have a wider worldwide view and it makes a difference.

A major action

The FDG is busier than ever before in the fight against the virus of the Forsaken infecting the world. The FDG is growing more capable as they gain more recruits eager to defend their society with honor and courage.
