Leora is a former snake milker that now enjoys the okayest job of balancing motherhood and writing contemporary romance. *Some with a sci fi twist*

A sucker for dirty talk, both the sexy kind and the type that leads to the discovery of new curse words, Leora catches all the craziness in her head on the cracked screen of her laptop. Squeezed into a small workspace in her Florida garage, this author uses her imagination *and cannabis* to explore the worlds she has created.

Her work has been praised extensively by her mother—who pinky promised to read the sexy parts with her eyes closed—and ignored by the rest of her family. Some critics have made compelling statements about her work such as “foul mouthed woman” and “nothing more than porn”. When asked for a comment regarding those reviews, the author’s answer was, “f$&% yeah!” with an enthusiastic nod and accompanying finger guns shooting in the air.

I read the entire book and nothing happened. I kept waiting for something to happen. Toward the end there was 2 pages of excitement and the ending was interesting, but it was a set up for the next book. Overall the book was a disappointment.

Loved the Bridal Pact...but Did NOT LOVE this....

The sister who I'd found fun and interesting in " The Bridal Pact", just felt immature and repetitive and boring this go around....
By herselfPoppy wasn't too bad,but w/her sister constantly calling each other bosh and other names w/their lame fights on and on rinse and repeat acting like their both 21 going on 12 both spoilt showing their tempers if the don't get their way,it felt like just one long pajama party ,w/females stuffing their faces ,pregnant or not Poppy could do something w/ herself besides eat near constantly and mood swing from ,I quote " Care Bear to Hitler" constantly.... Set,eat, complain moan rinse and repeat, think hubby has for sister after seeing a nasty video, things from bad to worse ,hubby stupid, need to tell him she's preggers, attacked make up the end ....
Boring , repetitive want my money back :(
Not reading any more of this series... Sometimes 1st leads to something great, sometimes not...

The amount of fatphobia in this is so gross.
Constant throughout with the characters calling each other names and talking a our gaining weight as the worst thing in the world. Awful.

And homophobia out of nowhere! Started off talking about the warriors finding comfort in each due to the lack of females of their species. Okay, fine. But got to make it completely obvious that no way the characters we talk to are gay, and gonna make sure to say that quite a few times thoughout the book so we don't get the wrong idea.

Then the LI inevitably does something shitty for conflict. And it was super shitty. Then everyone around our FMC to suck it up and forgive him and move on. Not exactly the best advice for people in shitty relationships.

The writing seemed so juvenile. The entirw series hasn't been great but this was just so stupid. Repeating the same things over and over, the stupid jokes and easy stereotypes to play on.

Done with this series, do not recommend at all.

This installment to the Bridal Pact series was better then the first. I wish I could give it 4 stars but honestly I couldn't stand Poppy in this series and I didn't feel like Dath played a big enough role. Poppy played too big of a role in this book. I have 2 sisters so I understand that we sometimes finish each others sentences, and say things that only the three of us will understand but Poppy and Pixie bordered on acting like children when they were together. By the end of the story I was so tired of hearing how she was constantly eating and kept saying she was growing an alien, or having an alien baby.

What. Was. I. Thinking?

The two most irritating women on earth have left it to become the most irritating, silly, immature women in space—good riddance!

This book is a hideous train wreck with no plot, numerous grammatical errors, predictability and absolutely stupid one dimensional characters. Your intelligence will be insulted repeatedly reading this alien drivel pile of poo.

The dumbest thing I’ve done all year so far was to download this Amazon free read. Dathrow is book 3 in the Warriors of Phaeton Series.

Don’t do as I did, do as I say: SKIP IT!🤬

On my Were Scale of Hotness, 0 stars.

WTF? Stupidest book I ever half read.

Dathrow is accused of treason and in danger of being sent to"years of hard mining " unaware his wife is pregnant and out of her mind with fear. Meanwhile, the sister of his wife is sitting on her man's lap, pouting when he has to get up in an effort to save Daphrow, and demanding a cookie. I could go on with more craziness but really? Luckily it was free, but it wasn't worth the time it took to skim through it.

I'm vacillating between a 2 and 3 because it REALLY started irritating me more and more at the end. MILD SPOILERS.
Issues:
1) There's SO many wasted scenes throughout the book with the sisters being annoying together and nothing happening yet the action is rushed in the last 5-10% of the book.
2) Really you made such a big deal about using condoms yet you're at just the second opportunity to use them and you don't? (The did the time before.)
3) Why can't women ever stay mad in these types of books? She finds out about the thing with Dath and the sister and seemed livid but was moving back in the next day. Was actually talking to him somewhat normally. Freaking ridiculous.
4) Another thing that bugged me is how she never gets upset with her sister either. Just because the she knew the sister always has her best interests at heart, doesn't mean she can't be miffed at her withholding some info. That would have been good because then we'd get a timeout from their nonsense.
5) The sisters are obnoxious as hell when they're together. I started skimming through their scenes because I couldn't take it anymore. They're crass loud and it's just pointless. The author could have taken it down 50% in intensity and we still would ha gotten the personality she was going for. The way she wrote them made them super unlivable.
6) Pixie got super comfortable with Dath super quick, especially in the aggressively rude way she talked to him a few times.

It had potential but there's just so many issues for me. I gave Poppy's book 3 and from what I remember this isn't worse so I'll stick with 3. 2.5 if I could. Author had nothing happening for so long (Pixie kept going to her sisters apartment to hang out while Dath went to work) but had everything going down in the last 10% of the book. SO rushed. Maybe Pixie forgave him so quickly because the author wasted so much time on nothing and crammed in the action at the end? Just so much annoying all around 😒

Sometimes I just crave something crazy that I can't even relate to and I am just starting to read these space books, where there are aliens in and I am starting to like them more and more.

At the beginning of the book you read about Pixies life how it goes and sees the things that make her signup to the bridal project where she will get married off to an alien warrior just like her sister did (Book 1). I totally get why she did it. All she wanted to do was get away from her cheating (ex)boyfriend, the life she couldn't recognize and she missed her sister so much you could feel her pain.

But already at the beginning of the book you also read about the ''secret'' that will be kept from Pixie from the beginning and you just know at the beginning this shit will blow up at some point. So I could figure out the plot of this book so easy and I was just sitting patiently waiting on that moment throughout the entire book and at some point, I actually worried the author forgot about the drama she started at the beginning of the book.

Dathrow is a sweet man (considering he is an alien warrior). I liked him from the beginning but because of the ''secret'' he kept I was a little annoyed with him too because he was so smart and thinking about everything to make sure everything went smooth in their new relationship and then he was stupid enough to not tell Pixie his ''secret''.

So can you live with a book that is easy to see what will happen but still keeps you a little on your toes because you don't know what will happen when it all explodes. Plus get some hilarious sister humor, some hunky men and some steamy sexy time then I will recommend this book.

This book was entertaining in how the aliens reacted to their human wives "earth sayings" but I did feel it lacked a bit more excitement. Being a sci-fi / paranormal romance, I also would have preferred it if there was a bit more "alien-ness" - more of the alien customs and sayings too.

Darthrow is the sweet alien hero and dies show a bit of a jealous side but if you are looking for an OTT jealous/possessive hero, unfortunately he does not fall into this category in my opinion (or should I say that it could be possible, but the contents of this book did not allow for it).

If you have read book 1 in this series, you would already know a bit about the human heroine (Pixie). She leaves her cheating ex and decides the best option is to join the bridal pact with the Hope's to reunite with her sister. She is not prepared for the shock and devastation when finding out the secret everyone was keeping from her.

This book is an ok read, written from a dual POV but is majority single POV- that of Pixie. It is reasonably fast burn and can be read as a standalone. It however does end on a semi cliffhanger that introduces the next couple to come.

Second book of this series that has been a bit disappointing. The first one was ok, but this one who tells the story of Pixie is not that good. The plot is almost non existant, and the relationship between the sisters isn't believable. I understand siblings can get along well and have a wonderful relationship, but this is too much. Besides that, the romance isn't very romantic and the behaviour of the heroe feels too human at times. The story lack of any interesting background about the alien planet and their way of living. The women in this story doesn't seem to do much other than eat crappy food and watch television, what bride of an alien guy would want such a boring life? Overall, it's an ok read if you have nothing else to do but it could have been a lot better. I don't think I'll read any other of this series.

Pixie gets an alien too! I love this series! This story reads well, there are returning characters and the series arc is continued here but not really as a predominant factor in this episode. I do like the characters and the relationship building, but the interaction between Pixie and Poppy borders on tedious with a smidge of aggravation. Dathrow and Pixie are cute together but some of their interactions and conversations get a little repetitive. I'm not a fan of killing off good guy characters, it's the second book in a row where it happens, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for that kind of heartbreak in a romance series. I am obviously continuing with the next book in the series, I enjoyed this one, just not as much as the ones before it.

Excellent Continuation of the Series!

Pixie, Poppy' s sister decides to become a bride like her sister, after several major disasters in her romantic and work life phases of her life. She quickly gets selected and soon falls in love with her alien match. After the usual earth woman versus alien misunderstandings, she finally sees a happy future for herself. Unfortunately, another major disaster occurs when she thinks her alien was still in love with her sister, and she's just a replacement. Enough details given! I advise you read this well-written tale of life between alien and human and the ups and downs before real love conquers all!

Love the series that I have read But the sisters became so repetitious and irritating as I just jumped over their dialogue. To be in space for the first time with all new experiences and then to just sit in a room and bitch back and forth left a lot to be desired. And how did Finch's mate who escaped from him just happened to bang on a door with other humans. All those living quarters and she just happened onto them. Pregnant Poppy doesn't seem to want to know a thing about the pregnancy and just eats and the sisters just swear at each other. Lots of just basic info would have made this a much better read.

Pretty good

This was the first Phaeton Warriors book I've read. And I have to say it was a good read. It was filled with enough action, anxiety, passion and love that I'm thinking about reading the rest of the series. Solid alpha alien males who love their chosen females with everything they have. Dathrow and Pixie realize they are ment to be as soon as they meet, but the course of love never does run smooth. But together they learn to navigate their new life and let love heal all wounds.

Good read

Alien hunks, sassy, stubborn earth girls....who could ask for a better scenario. Their women of Phaeton have died out long ago and they need to procreate. They have found that they are compatible with human women, so they ask for volunteers to sign up with a "matching" service. Pixie's sister is already matched and pregnant, but missing her sister. Pixie's life on earth has been turned upside down, so she decides to sign up. The chaos, humor, hot sex, and misunderstandings ensue. Highly recommend.

Pixie has been matched with Dathrow. He had been matched to her sister Poppy, Wheaton's wife.
He also fell in love with Poppy and asked for a transfer when she said she loved only Wheaton.
That is a secret they all decide to keep. Wasn't a good idea. I like this series and like this author. Both a new find. You need to read as a series to know all the people that pop in and out of each book.

Unfinished story in this book. Dathrow is on trial when his wife tells him they are going to have a baby. Now we go to poppy’s home with pixie & a strange woman enters tied up claiming she’s been kidnapped by their friend Finch? The story was doing good till the trial & the blank. Who closed the door? I know there are more but thought it was a stand alone. I have no desire to read more was disappointed in ending.

Loved It

I thought the story of Poppy and Wheaton was a page turner but I believe I liked Pixie and Dathrow just as much. There are a lot of laughs in this series and the humor makes the serious times that much more entertaining. I love the sibling love that the sisters display and how they play off of each other to keep the laughs coming. I can’t wait to read Finch’s story next.

I am really loving this series!
Dathrow had originally been matched to Poppy, but only after she was matched to Wheaton. He knew he could never come between them so he withdrew and waited for another match. He gets a huge surprise when he is matched to Pixie, Poppy's sister!
This is such an amazing book!
This series is definitely not a fade to black during the spicy scenes and I love it!

Starts out quirky and amusing but the banter between sisters quickly became something that made me want to make them shut up. Rest of the story is decent but the repetitive “ I am having an alien baby” “ shut up bish” quickly becomes annoying and distracting from the main plot and feels like it is just there to fill up space.

Loved it!

The book is too short because the story is so damn good. Yes, there are a handful of editing errors. The story was one I couldn't put down until I finished it! The two heroines are a bit daffy but the heros are wonderful. I now what to join the bridal pact that doesn't exist!

The third book in the Warriors of Phaeton series by Leora Gonzales. Pixie misses her sister but during the time since her sister left, she catches her boyfriend with someone else and quits her job. She decides to apply as a bride to be closer to her sister, Poppy. She is matched with Dathrow.

I liked this one slightly more than the first two so I added a star.

Too funnny

A great follow up to book one, with double the trouble when Pixie and Poppy get back together again. Those alien men just don’t know what a bag of fun they have on their hands. Funny and fast paced this one will keep you chuckling with Ms. Gonzales’ quick wit in writing humor. Happy reading.

Great Read

I was originally sceptical when selecting this book as I am not really a fan of sci fiction content. I must admit, I was VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! It is well written and has a great mix of excitement, action, tenderness and romance all taking place in another world. I will most definitely be reading ALL the other books in the series.

This was a freebie from Amazon (thank God!) that's been hanging out in my Kindle.

Wow! This reads like Fan Fic. Trailer trash sisters & their alien mates. F bomb in every sentence.
Hitler on a pogo stick - WTF???
The story is lame & I skimmed through at 39% to the end. It never got better.

Welp, it's like a clone of Evangeline Anderson's Kindred series, except this woman can spell and probably uses an editor. Surprisingly way less sex, too, but there's also a helluva lot less repetition and probably way less recycling of the same story. (Note I've only read this one book--if I read others, they might make a liar of me.)

Gave it an extra star only because I didn't tear my hair out once due to typos.
