From Hero to Zero

Rate this book
In this hilarious installment of the #1 bestselling series, join lovable troublemaker Rafe Khatchadorian on a trip to London, where he deals with a bully, a secret crush, and one hilarious embarrassment after another.   After a mostly-successful stint at Hills Valley Middle School, Rafe is excited to visit the incredible city of London with his class. Sightseeing around a foreign country sounds like a blast, until Rafe finds out his roommate is Miller the Killer, bully extraordinaire! Then he's forced to work on a class project side by side with his crush Jeanne Galletta and her too-perfect boyfriend, which might be even worse than rooming with Miller.   And it's no surprise that Rafe's bad luck follows him across the pond, putting him in one wacky situation after another--all under the watchful eye of his bad-tempered principal. Out of all of his adventures, this trip could prove to be Rafe's most embarrassing yet, undoing everything good he has going for him back home!

Rafe Khatchadorian is on his way to London on a school sponsored field trip. As usual, Rafe gets himself into a fair bit of trouble, not the least of which is having Miller the Killer as a roommate. But, sometimes things don't turn out the way you think.

Rafe and Miller become (gasp!) friends (well, sort of). Let's put it this way: they come to a mutual understanding and Miller comes to Rafe's defense when Jeanne Galleta's boyfriend, Jared, accuses him of breaking the pair up.

Not only that, Rafe gets lost in London, tells Jeanne (and everyone else, gasp!) how he really feels about Jeanne, and manages to get into a whole bunch of other trouble. Middle School: From Hero to Zero is more of Rafe's madcap adventures that will have fans wondering...'when does the next book come out?"

On the whole, I'm starting to get a little tired of James Patterson's crack team of ghostwriters sending Rafe Katchadorian on trips for the sake of novelty, but I'm able to say I liked it because, unlike a lot of Rafe's trip chronicles, a number of paradigm shifts for the series as a whole actually occurred. Without spoiling anything, Middle School actually looks like it's moving forward at long last, knock on wood.

this book was about a kid who won a field trip to london and it was different then the rest of the sequel there was new people introduced and the problems were new and maybe the best "middle school" book so far the best part was that it awnsered one of the bigger questions from early on.

Middle School From Zero To Hero”
Book Review

My book review is The “Middle School” series by James Patterson, who I think is the best preteen author. He wrote Witch and Wizard, Jack the Ripper and Crazy House and so many more. The theme in the Middle School series is even if you make mistakes, you can learn from them and come back stronger. There are many funny moments in the book, but in all it really tells a good message to the readers that you should learn from your mistakes.
The narrator is Rafe Khatchadorian. He is a character who makes a lot of mistakes in school and outside of it. Rafe goes on a trip with his class to England to study England’s history. One mistake that Rafe learned was to be prepared for a check in on England's greatest sites. For example. “ This was like a pop quiz. I hadn't had any chance to figure out what we were doing next” page(172). Rafe leaned on a friend Jeanne to help him out.
Another mistake is when Rafe thought it was a good idea to take MIller, The Killer’s personal items. MIller got upset and started to yell at Rafe and pushed him. Rafe thought “... when I started thinking my great idea wasn't so great after all” page (118). Rafe learned that taking people’s things isn't a great idea because it makes people upset.
A final example is when Rafe liked Jeanne, a good friend but she was dating someone someone else. He also tried everything he could to get her to like him, but Jared her boyfriend was jealous “ Now just stop crushing on my girlfriend and leave her alone. Cool? page(194). Rafe learned that you can still be friends with someone you like.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this book for all ages. This book shows that you can learn from your mistakes which makes you a better person. The main character Rafe, learned that you have to be prepared for class, you don't touch people's things and you can be friends with the people who like you differently. I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars review, and a definite must read.

Meet Rafe, a middle schooler who is going on a big school trip to London. The school made these kids go on this trip for a big project where several schools participate in this project and compete for $10000 worth of books and supplies. Rafe expected it to be fun as he is traveling through another country. During this trip. Rafe encounters a lot of trouble. He caused a disaster on the plane, he thought the 5th floor at the hotel was the 4th floor as he was confused about how British people do things and how they live life differently than Americans do, and he even got lost in London with no money and no working phone. And he has a huge project to do and if he doesn’t do it he would fail middle school. How will he survive this trip? Will he overcome these bad events and complete the project? Find out by reading Middle School: From Hero to Zero.

Overall, the book was pretty good. The pictures were good, it never bored me, and some aspects of the book were interesting and surprising. I’ve read the 6th book in this series and I want to read the whole series because of how good this book is. Also, I was surprised at how he was able to survive being lost in another country and to be able to regroup with the class. In fact, that was one of my favorite parts of the book. I even read it twice because of the quality of this book. So if you like pictures and if you are looking to entertain yourself, you should read Middle School: From Hero To Zero.

Rafe Khatchadorian is off on another trip, and this time it is a class trip to bonny old England. Things have settled down for Rafe, who used to get in trouble at school all the time. Thankfully, he has avoided that for a while. This trip might be another turning point. The problems start when he finds out that his roommate at the hotel is Miller the Killer, the school's bully and someone that really has no trouble picking on Rafe.

The group of students that Rafe is a part of is also required to work on a project that touches on all the interesting things about London. Surprisingly, Rafe has been assigned to be Editor-in-Chief for the project. He is not normally seen as a scholastic leader, but circumstances bring about a situation in which it makes sense for him to take on that role. He is saddened by it not just because he is a little overwhelmed by the responsibility, but it is the position his good friend and crush Jeanne usually takes. He is worried that it will do some damage to their relationship.

Really the trip is one crazy circumstance after another. That is really what makes it and the whole series so much fun. Besides being entertaining, the book continues the series trend in providing some good messaging about friendship, making friends, and bullying. The illustrations are strong and add a lot to the storytelling and the fun.

Rafe is going on a school trip to London, so he can get into trouble in yet another country. He's had 3 books in Australia including Middle School: Escape to Australia and now they're headed to England, in Europe. What a clever way to expand Patterson's reader base - both in terms of broadening the reader's geographical horizons and maybe getting new fans from other countries. In business school this is called market expansion. Smart. Coincidentally, due to a plane barfing incident which Rafe caused, he has been made Editor in Chief for the school's Living-Learning Report in London. Looks like it's time for Rafe to expand his learning to include the pains of being in charge.
description

This has been the best Middle School book yet, because it breaks new ground - the Plane "incident", the Wax Dungeon, a confession with unexpected consequences ... creating Art for cash and making new friends. Loved it.

I really liked this book, I thought it was funny. It was based on a kid named Rafe Khatchadorian that goes to a school by the name of Hills Village Middle School. In this book, they take a class field trip to England! They will be seeing and learning some new things there, all as a class. What Rafe doesn't know is that his room mate in England will be his worst enemy: Miller. Rafe calls him Miller the Killer.

Along the way, he pretty much thinks that the trip will be rad, but doesn't enjoy it when Miller is his room mate. Every night, he's sleeping in a bathtub in the bathroom because Miller is forcing him to be in there to sleep. On the activities, they have to do some researching on different historical things there on the trip for a grade, but like usual, Rafe tries to get out of doing his. They got to a place called the tower of terror, where they see creepy replicas of how people died back then. While they were there, someone locks him in a bathroom, and when he exits, everyone else is gone. He goes looking around for everyone, until he found his teacher, Mrs. Stricker, that was wondering where he was. When they all get back home after the week, Rafe is exhausted.

Rafe Khatchadorian is about to embark upon a school trip to London. While he’s excited about taking in some of the sights, he’s not looking forward to the classwork that goes along with the journey. Rafe is even less excited about the fact that none of his friends will be joining him. As soon as his nemesis, Killer Miller, arrives at the airport, Rafe really begins to dread the trip. As soon as they arrive at London, Miller begins acting strange. Once Rafe gathers up the courage to talk to his crush, Jeanne Galetta, they form a secret alliance. She agrees to help him with his project. Will Rafe avoid Miller’s wrath for the entire trip? Will Rafe work up the courage to tell Jeanne how he really feels about her? Read this fun and engaging book to find out!

Rafe is very happy to go to London with his class and teachers. He can't wait to look at the places he's never been and see what awesome things are in London. Then Rafe finds out his roommate is Miller the Killer. He is way too scary to be in a room with Rafe. Then he has to work on a big school project with his crush Jeanne Galletta, and her scary boyfriend, who might be even worse than sleeping in the same room as Miller. This book is very good, and I love the way James Patterson leaves you on a cliffhanger at the end of a chapter. Also, I like how he draws out the picture of Rafe and how he is just a kid without friends. But in the end, he makes a lifelong friend with the one and only Miller, the killer.

Like the other Middle School books, I found this one to be extremely likeable, thanks to a creative plot, fun dialogue, and wonderful illustrations by Laura Park. Rafe, the main character, is easily relatable, so readers should like him, especially those who feel like an outsider. The chapters are really short. I believe there are 58 total. Having short chapters in a children's book doesn't bother me one bit, as it will help kids stay interested in the story and keep them turning the pages.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Middle Grade: From Hero To Zero. Whether you're a kid or an adult, you'll get a kick out of reading about Rafe Khatchadorian!

Cute story about Rafe Khatchadorian’s school trip to London and, in true Rafe style, all of the trouble he encounters on the trip. During the flight over Rafe accidentally makes one of his seat mates throw up and things only get worse from there. As “punishment” his teacher puts Rafe in charge of the big school project about the trip. What could possibly go wrong as Rafe doesn’t have organizational skills, have any real friends on the trip, has a crush on a classmate, and is forced to room with Miller the Killer. What follows is an entertaining and fun story of Rafe’s adventures and missteps.

James Patterson is a number one, best-selling author of thriller books. He also writes for children and his Middle School series has been made into a feature film. The latest instalment of the latter sees Patterson team-up with Chris Tebbetts for the writing. Our anti-hero travels to London and what ensues is a pleasant-enough story at times but also one that leaves readers expecting more given the author’s pedigree and the fact that it’s such a fun idea in theory.

Middle school:Hero to zero ,was interesting and enjoyable as Rafe goes on a field trip to London. And as usual , gets himself in some trouble. However, it turns out that in this book, Miller the Killer happened to cooperate with Rafe together! Thats a first ! but its not so simple ,it turns out their not "friends" ,more like an agreement. I gave this book a four star because i had a few laughs (not big ones) and the plot for me was good enough for me to be hooked.overall I would definitely read it 1 or 2 times again.

This is about a kid named Rafe who goes to London for a school trip. When he gets there, he ends up getting a bully as a room mate, asking someone out, getting lost on his own in the middle of London and making a new enemy. This is the 10th book about Rafe so I would Advise to read the first book first otherwise you might get a bit confused!

Rafe Khatchadorian is going to London with about 30 of his middle school classmates, none of whom are his friends so he's not really looking forward to the trip. To make matters worse his mortal enemy is on the trip and becomes his roommate. Rafe is well-known for getting into trouble, and this trip is no exception.

This is probably my favourite book because it is very interesting and funny. It tells the story of a dim-witted boy, Rafe khatchadorian and his struggle through middle school. This time he is headed to England from Shakespeare's globe to the dungeon of the crown jewels. I would very much recommend this book.

This is nearly the same as "How I got lost in London" but longer, which is the 5.5 book of the series. This just happened when I was reading the 9th book which was the same book as the 7.25 book in the series. I don’t understand the point in writing those books in between when you just reuse the same story.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars, because I loved how the author changes Rafe in every book of the series. Like in this one, Rafe hung out with the bully Miller the Killer even though in every other book Rafe runs from him. I also love the humor in this book and the adventures Rafe goes through as he tries to be a hero.

I really enjoyed this book. Rafe and his classmates go on a school trip to London. If you have read any books of the middle school series by James Patterson, you know that Rafe will end up getting into some trouble but he will also find a way for everything to work out in the end.
