Kendalyn and Kenji have been close since before they could remember. They grew up together in a rough environment, having each other's backs along the way. Kendalyn knew at a young age that she wanted to be more than friends with Kenji, but Kenji was two years older than her and running through women at a rapid pace. Kenji loved Kendalyn as his friend, or so he thought. His whole thought process changed when Kendalyn was nowhere to be found after leaving with her mother one day. Kenji was left with nothing but memories and what ifs.
Kendalyn was uprooted from Toledo and was forced to live in Lansing, MI with her sickly grandmother. She quickly adapted to her surroundings, forming new friends. But when one of those friends professes his love right before vanishing into thin air, it leaves a young Kendalyn hurt and confused. Picking back up the pieces and graduating in the field she's always dreamed of, Kendalyn unexpectedly runs into the past once again. Thinking it must be a sign, Kendalyn goes with the flow, making a big mistake.
Kendalyn was putting her heart back together once again when she bumped in to an unfamiliar face. She didn't recognize him, but Kenji instantly recognized her and was ready to stake his claim on her heart immediatley. Kenji’s feelings towards her have changed, but so has the circumstances. Kendalyn is pregnant and going through drama with both of her exes. After all the time that has passed he was ready to deal with them head on and make Kendalyn his, once and for all. Will she let go and allow Kenji to be the man she needs? Will Kendalyn throw caution to the wind and give Kenji the key to her heart? Or will Kenji walk away from Kendalyn and all of her drama, leaving her heartbroken again?

Great Standalone
Held my attention from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down....a page-turner. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. It flowed really well at a fast yet steady pace. Kendalyn, endured so much at a young age, but she found a friend in Kenji, along the way they were separated. Years later they reconnected and found love, I love the way their relationship blossomed. It's like they were never apart. So glad that got their happy ending. Highly recommend this standalone. Some grammar errors, but didn't take away from the storyline. Job well done Khadijah J.

This was definitely a 10* read.......Marcus is definitely an a**hole and I'm happy Kendalyn didn't have to be tied to him LaShay and Carmeisha definitely did her a favor. Kenji is add to my list of book baes. Great read and the fact it was a standalone made it awesome. But I will love to know more about the others

I swear I love everything khadijah put out!
When I say this book was greaaaaaaat! I loved me some kendalyn everything about her character was enjoyable. I'm glad that She and Kenji ended up together and got the fairytale ending because lord knows I didn't want her with Marcus. But this is a must read!!!

Baby that ending!! Whew
Yes i read this book from beginning to end with just a few breaks in between because of work and my little one. This was a good story. I really thought she would be with Marcus but he showed his true colors. I'm happy it was Kenji though. I can't wait for.more about Sa'dai though

I knew that was her brother I knew it. I loved loved this story it was amazing and cannot wait to read what's next from this author. I have nothing good to say about Marcus smdh. Kenji hmmmm he's definitely Bae and I'm sooo happy that him and Kendalyn got their happy ending as well as her best friend and King. Plz if u haven't read this plz do so you won't regret it.

Will not regret
This book was so good. I'm upset that Marcus turned out the way he did. I can't believe he put Lyn through that. However I'm happy that Kenji found his way back to her life. She was not lying when she said she didnt feel any connection to Marcus after that kiss. So glad she got her happy ending.

I really enjoyed this story... very realistic and relatable. I loved me some Kenji and King!!! So much happened I won’t spoil it... if u are looking for a book that’s a page turner... you’ve found it! Download now! Lol. I knew Marcus was something else. I hate that Kenji & Lyn found each other so late in a way. I wish it would’ve been more to their love story. I feel like it was rush at the end with their story but overall the book was good. I knew old girl was King sister. I can’t wait to read her story 😘

I guess the saying is true for Kendalyn and Kenji they were childhood best friends/sweethearts who were split apart fast forward to 10years later and this dude is BAE!!! The way Kenji loved and looked out for Lyn had me wishing I was her lol

I've enjoyed reading from this author and i think she has a lot of talent. This particular story was a little rushed and the storylines were sped up from all the other books I've read so far but I'm looking forward to reading more from this author

Marcus has me so fooled. Who would have thought he would have turned out to be such an a##. I love the friendship that lyn had with Kenji and the crew. After all those years the bond with them was still so strong. Another great book 🔥
