A poem/story about love and frienship and how we sacrifice for those we love. Sometimes the sacrifices and pain we endure make our happiness that much sweeter. We can't really truly know the good without knowing the bad!

Wilcox's other poetry was also beautifully written and I could relate a lot to many of her poems.

Ok, didn't exactly read the whole book of poetry--that just seems weird to start at the beginning of a book of poetry and read straight through. Yet, I read enough that I know I love it and I dearly love my grandpa Jones for sharing Wilcox with me at a difficult time.

Maurine is my favorite poem. It is extremely engaging from beginning to end. A wonderful page-turner that tells a very sweet and emotional story. The rest of the poems in this book are excellent, too. Ella was a master at her craft and this book is just perfect.

Beautiful writing in verse. I would like to read more written like this. I liked that the book had a happy ending.
