As a first grade teacher for many years, I have always loved Ron Roy's A to Z Mysteries. I often read the first book, The Absent Author to my class as a read aloud and I loved seeing how it hooks children in reading. Well, I have my own first grader at home this year and I have to tell you that the genius of these books is even more clear to me now. This year I have read more than half of the series with my son and each one is highly addicting and fun in a unique way. We recently discovered the Super Editions as well. These editions seem slightly higher in reading level but even more mysterious! Also, we loved figuring out the hidden message buried throughout the book in its illustrations. Decoding the secret message was so much fun that the whole family got involved. Well, we just picked up Ron Roy's latest Super Edition (#10) Colossal Fossil. It does not disappoint! Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are on vacation in Boston while tagging along on a parent's business trip. While there, they are spending the night in a museum that features large dinosaur skeletons. Don't miss this fun book! I highly recommend it and all of the rest of the books in the series. If you have a struggling or disinterested reader at home, pick up these books and start them as family read alouds. You will have your child (and you!) hooked in no time! The only problem our family has with these books is putting them away at bedtime. There is always a plea for just 1 more chapter!

I noticed this book at a local library and realized that it was a super edition of the A to Z Mysteries series we read so long ago.

We love that Mr. Roy has written several extra "Super Edition" stories with the same characters. Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose feel like old friends.

Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are visiting Boston and get to have a sleepover at a Children's Museum and end up solving a tricky mystery.

The story is not all that realistic, but it is entertaining and it was a fun, fast read. I enjoyed revisiting these familiar characters.

The A to Z Mysteries are fun books, where the characters solve a mystery that crops up when they are involved in some everyday adventure. They are focused on the friendships between the main characters, and following the clues that they come across during the story. Colossal Fossil takes place while the children are visiting a museum in Boston. The children solve a mystery that occurs while staying the night at the museum as part of a special program.

It is a good book. I love A TO Z Mysteries. So Dink Josh and Ruth are going to sleep in a museum. While they were going to sleep there was a loud bang. The fossil was half broken and the river diamond was lost. Then they found out but.

They realized it was fake.read the book to find out. Who stole it. Why they did it..

This is a great mystery as always. I like how it talks a little about forensic science and how to look at hair and fingerprints to find the culprit.

Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose travel to Boston, Massachusetts with Dink's dad for a sleep over at the Children's Natural Museum. While there they are shown a Spinosaurus, a River Diamond and other specimens of insects and animals. During the night there is a huge crash and at first everything looks like nothing is missing. But, in the morning one of the boys says that diamond has been switched, the one in the cage is fake. So, Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose investigate the crime.
