Thwack!

It was the sound that would change their lives forever.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This baseball sports romance was a pleasant and welcomed change from Football and Basketball -- my personal favorites are: Hockey and MMA -- the only other sport sorely lacking in romance is Tennis.

If you've read the synopsis then you already know this is a pregnancy romance. The heroine (is in law school) had it on the ball and wasn't looking for someone to rescue or take care of her.

Though I liked the story, the romance moved too quickly for me or I should say the sexual aspect of it. I wanted Carter to work a little harder to get (touch) it. The heroine made it way too easy (as most of his dates do) for him especially after their first encounter didn't go so well.

I couldn't totally buy into the pivotal moment (though it's needed to progress the story) because if they had a discussion about STDs, then they would have naturally discussed birth control. Especially since Carter is a professional athlete that wants to avoid becoming a father before he's ready. I couldn't understand why she (or he) didn't make a trip to the local CVS Pharmacy to purchase .

Carter's reaction to the situation was very authentic to me and understandable. I didn't see a big hulking scary monster that the author tried to paint. Afterwards, Jordan puts up a wall and weeks go by without her acknowledging Carter's calls and emails. Carter wants to be with her -- though I'm not sure why.

As the story progressed, I started liking Carter more, and Jordan less. I thought she made things way more difficult than they had to be. I like this author's writing style so I'll read anything she writes. Be sure to check out the preview for her next story and her earlier titles, too.

Spoilers ahead.

Major plot hole. Jordan could've gone and taken a morning after pill. The fact that this wasn't even considered was too unrealistic especially for this day and age. I liked the storyline and the characters but that plot hole was too much of a side eye for me to get over.

I enjoyed this one even though it was a slow start.

Jordanannoyed me at some parts. Especially with regard to not telling Carter something that important for as long as she did. She kept procrastinating. She's lucky his evil racist mom didn't beat her to it.

Glad her family supported her.

She really ruined proposal night by severely over reacting. Loved the surprise during the 7th inning. Really nice touch.

Good.

This story is more like 3 1/2 stars. It has all the elements of a good read; yet, I did not buy the love. Perhaps it was lack of emotional growth...initially it seems that it was simply a sexual hookup, then all of a sudden, they were are love. In addition, it had the right amount of drama and angst. Again, all the elements for a good love story. Perhaps the problem is that it was more of a tell rather than showing of a good/growing relationship. Much potential.

Toss Up-
Sweet and predictable read. This story has been told many many times, including the annoying heroine. Well written but not a book I'd revisit.

This is my review and how I see it. Another good read from author Camilla Stevens. Carter Fox a baseball player and Jordan Douglas law student met under unusual circumstances. She catches his 30th home run ball for her cousin and from there things go downhill fast. Carter basically opens his mouth and inserts his foot.

Carter gets to make things right, with a little help from Ben (Jordan's cousin), and one thing leads to another and these two are making time for each other until one night things spiral out of control and Jordan decides to exit to the left.

They do get their a happy ending, but not before more drama from his camp.

This story is from anyone who likes a good baseball romance.

This is my review and how I see it.

Wow!👏

I can not wait until the next book. Carter stole my heart. His father was a different matter. He was a sell out for sure and his mother was the icing on the cake. She knows knows how to pick them. Even though she redeemed herself, I would handle her with a long handle spoon. Carter family was a mess. The characters just flow off the page. I love it. It was so genuine. I highly recommend this read. Ms. Stevens there was never a doubt, you have done well. Thank you!

Good Story, problematic character

Spoiler ahead

I liked everything about the story except the fact that the h lied and blamed it on him being angry. Even when all was settled the next morning, she didn’t come clean. Is there no emergency birth control? It just came across very much like she wanted what happened to happen. Especially because we are made to believe that she is really committed to being a lawyer? I didn’t understand that.

Sweet Story

I thought I had read most of Ms. Stevens’ stories but I have stumbled over a whole series. Written about four years ago, this story features bad boy baseball superstar, Carter and law student Jordan. They meet at one of his games when she catches his out of bounds home run. Their road to HEA is tense but cute….media, press, meddling parents, loan Sharks and pregnancy complicate matters.

Hotdamn!

Give me some Carter!!
I absolutely love this book, Carter is simply amazing... For someone who used to be a manwhore, you wouldn't think ,he would be such a wonderful family man. He loves his woman... And nobody, not even his mother would stop him ... Beautiful Jordan and "Hotsome" Carter are beautiful together and making beautiful babies!!
Love the book!!

Very sweet romance

I really love how relatable these characters were. I love that Jordan was strong yet soft. She compliments Carter in the most sweet way and am glad how the Sterling turned out.
Carter’s dad wow, entitled much and am glad the mom had an opportunity to come to her senses.
Nice read, well balanced content.

Good

Really enjoyed this. The hero and heroine although young, showed a maturity I haven't seen in books in a long time. One thing in particular that I love was that even though the hero was wealthy, he didn't use his wealth to take the law into his own hands. Refreshing.

It was alright

Life is what happens when you're too busy making plans. At least, that is the situation in which Jordan and Carter found themselves. Even though I didn't connect with the characters, their story was alright. Some of it was predictable but it was still okay.

Consistent characters

A nice read.
I really liked Carter and Jordan as a couple. Wished that Jordan had been a stronger character from beginning to end, but it was nice to see her grow throughout the storyline

Book 2 please👏👏😍😍

Truly enjoy reading this authors books. The storyline is never rushed or overwhelmed with sex. This read was a great read, like her other books. Now I'm ready for book two in the series.

Enjoyed!!!

It's been awhile since I have rated a romance book 5 stars, I really enjoyed this book. It flowed and I loved the characters. The female lead irritated me a couple times but great book.

Good read

The author did a good job making the book real with several dramatic twists that were very believable. Both had over protective mothers who ended up supporting them when they needed it most

Family!

They met, were at odds, find common ground, falll 😍. Then after making it work, add the family and things really get interesting! When the dut settled they were still together. Thats alot of understanding.

Started off good

The heroine became decidedly more frustrating as the plot progressed. Spoilers aside, she does not handle any conflict well. I had to ask myself "why?" so many times throughout the book.

Good

Overall this was a pretty good story. I liked both of the MCs but was put off by how much angst they created for themselves. Things that could be cleared by a conversation were blown way out of proportion. Not the greatest thing I’ve ever read, but certainly not the worst.

Enjoyable read

Carter came from a dysfunctional family, but made good for himself. He meets smart and beautiful Jordan by way of a homerun. Dive into their story to find out if they can overcome their difficulties.

I just could not put down this book. Well written

I just love this book. The 2 characters had great chemistry. Jordan is a strong woman knowing her worth and just an ambitious person. Carter is a keeper and he was a charmer. Her parents are extremely supportive

Great read

Ok read

I did not particularly like Jordan. I couldn't believe she was in law school. Who has never heard of PlanB ! I didn't like her at all for Carter. The story was just missing something, not sure what but it just didn't have that wow factor.

GOOD!

This was a cute story. It made me laugh, it gave me the feels, and it made me mad (which is why I gave it 4/5 stars). Jordan really irritated my soul but overall I enjoyed this story and would recommend it.

Too long

Good storyline but because of the drag it was a bit boring. All of the back and forth did not contribute to the story.

Really liked it

I really liked this story. It was a little different from most sports themed storylines. I can't wait for Chance's story to come out
