Allie and Alec are back to run a marathon and catch a killer at the annual Strawberry Festival. When Allie's strawberry surprise cupcakes are suspected of poisoning the mayor's daughter, she must prove her innocence before the killer strikes again. Alec has his own surprise, while Lucy and Ed come along for the ride.
Lov ed this series!!! I enjoy the two main characters so much , sleuthing , murder mysteries , friendship s and romance all in one series! Want more of these two!!!
Allie's really come a long way with her running, and she got to run a marathon with Alec in a nearby town for their Strawberry Festival. But the poor thing felt a lot less than good about it even though she did manage to finish--I know I'd never want to physically hurt like that lol.
At the vendor portion of the festival, I couldn't believe that horrible woman from Sandy Harbor that we met in the last book was there selling--and badmouthing Allie some more! This author is awfully good at writing characters we love...and characters we loathe. This woman from the French restaurant fits the latter! She's so mean to Allie that I kept wishing...well you know what we always wish for in cozies when someone's mean, right? ;) But not today, the vic was a younger woman from that town.
I had a suspicion about someone from practically the beginning, and I was right about them. The showdown was super tense, and I kept wishing Allie had a big dog with her! But Alec who'd been helping the local police and his friend on the force were on it and ready. This book had the absolute sweetest ending! I can't wait to free up a slot and borrow the next on KU!
I couldn't put this book down. Allie and Alec are trying to figure out a crime after they just ran a marathon at a Strawberry festival in the next town where she has a booth to sale her baked goods, Allie's body is all tight and hurting, so Alec is trying to hydrate her and has her walking so her body doesn't lock up on her. As Allie starts to get allitle better after drinking a few Gatorade, they hear a scream from several booths down and they see someone on the ground and that's when they find so many suspects including Allie. Plus this little french woman who opened a restaurant in town from Allie's work is hassling her at the festival. Read for details, you will love it.
I have read the first seven of Kate Bells books now and could not enjoy them more .
If you are looking for an easy read these books are perfect . You can easily finish a book in a day, and be anxious to start the next one in the series. The characters continue from one book to another making you feel right at home in the little town in Maine. While these are all murder mysteries, they are not gory or overly explicit , but allows you to follow the characters in figuring out , Whodunnit!! Even better, these are all free reads with Amazon Kindle. 😁
This is well written with strong characters and a well thought out plot. The action keeps the reader involved and trying to figure it out. I enjoyed reading this and finished it in one sitting.
This one wasn't my favorite in the series, but it was still really good. There were some very...interesting...characters in this one. I didn't see the ending coming, but when I got there, I couldn't believe that I hadn't predicted it (except that I never do).
This is a seventh book in A Freshly Baked Cozy Mystery serie. Allie and Alec participate in Strawberry Festival where they also run marathon. And investigate murder mystery. The book is nice and fun and have a cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed it and can't wait to read next book in this great serie.
Oh I can't wait to see what comes next if your like me and love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this series is a must read
