IXth: The Story of the Lost Legion

Rate this book
"My name is Tolus. I was a commander of men in the legions of the glorious empire of Rome. God help me, but i know the fate of the great IXth Legion, the proud ranks that marched out of Eburacum on 23rd November in the year of our Lord 119."

At some time between 118 and 122AD, the IXth Legion of Rome, based in the garrison town of Eburacum (modern day York) marched north out of the town and vanished. No physical or documentary evidence of the legion exists after that day.

For years historians have sought to discover how such a large body of men could have disappeared without a trace. What they should have been asking is why.

These are the memoirs of a man who claims to have marched with the IXth. Travelling through the ancient worlds of Egypt, Rome and Britain, battling with Imperial corruption and the passions of a fledgeling religion, his extraordinary story sheds new light on the mystery of the lost legion.
