Red Jacket: The Last of the Senecas

Rate this book
Red Jacket was the last active and visible member of the generation of Senecas who could recall the power of the Iroquois Confederacy before the American Revolution when representatives of both the British and Americans sought to gain their allegiance.
The great 19th century story teller, Edward S. Ellis (aka Col. H. R. Gordon) recounts the historic invasion of the Country of the Six Nations by General Sullivan, in the summer and early autumn of 1779 through the eyes of two scouts, Jed Stiffens and his young apprentice, Jack Ripley.

A great story for all lovers of the American Revolutionary era, with many lessons in woodcraft along the way from both Whites and Indians! Have a Look Inside.

Another fine literary example from the pen of Edward S. Ellis (Col. H. R. Gordon). A great story that weaves many of the facts from history into another fine story. All six books in this series are all powerfully written, and showcase six of the greatest of the Native American Indian War Chief's. Time spent reading this series will be time well spent.
