I really enjoy this short story and how the manga-ka changed some of the details and the ending of this story. I especially like how The Man Of Twenty Faces--Detective Akeichi's arch foe, is introduced in this story.
Face-off artist, festivals, low-ended theater, face-stealing thief, mystery within mysteries, and a young Edogawa Rampo trying to uncover the secrets. Who could have seen this ending coming?
Favorite quote:
"With me, The Man Of Twenty Faces here, who dares to call himself the artist of hundred faces?"
Twins
Another tricky, wicked tale of revenge, greed, false identity and impossible crime from Rampo, if you like to be surprised then you may also enjoy this short story. I like it well enough, but do not love it.
The Black Lizard, part 1
This is a novella about Detective Akechi's rivalry with a cunning, ruthless and beautiful lady thief known as The Black Lizard. The artwork is good and the story goes on smoothly, Akechi doesn't show up much so it is The Black Lizard who runs the show, and I like how the manga-ka doesn't step into the story to tell us how The Black Lizard is a villainess, he just shows us.
